Chapter 189 Taking Advantage

After dinner, the two played "rabbit game" and lay on the bed, satisfied but quite tired.

Like a docile kitten, Li Peiyu nestled in Lu Yuzhi's warm embrace, preparing to drift off to sleep.

Suddenly, as if she had remembered something important, she asked, "Do you have time that Saturday?"

"What is it?" Lu Yuzhi lowered his head slightly, looking at the person in his arms with tenderness in his eyes.

"Last time my mom called us home for dinner."

“Then I’ll rearrange my work schedule and free up a day,” Lu Yuzhi agreed without hesitation.

"Mmm." Li Peiyu closed her eyes contentedly.

But Lu Yuzhi stared blankly at the ceiling, preoccupied with something on his mind.

The scene of picking up the household registration book from Li Peiyu's house last time flashed through his mind. At that time, he called her parents "uncle" and "aunt," but now that they had gotten their marriage certificate, should he change his address? He hadn't called anyone's parents "mom" or "dad" for more than ten years, and this sudden change was really making him a little hesitant to say it.

Also, should she take the initiative to change her address, or wait for her parents to remind her? Lu Yuzhi became more and more conflicted as she thought about it, her brows furrowing slightly.

Just as Lu Yuzhi was worrying, the phone suddenly rang. Lu Yuzhi picked up the phone and saw that it was Zhang Yuwen.

He knew, of course, that Zhang Yuwen probably wanted to discuss the boycott of Li Peiyu, so he gently put down the person in his arms and got up to go to the study.

"Yuzhi, how has Peiyu been these past few days?" Zhang Yuwen's voice was full of concern.

"She's doing well. She can eat and sleep well," Lu Yuzhi said in a relaxed tone.

"Xiao Fan and I have discussed it. This matter started because of the two of us, and we can't let her down. So we will hold a press conference tomorrow to clarify the facts."

"No, please don't clarify." Lu Yuzhi hurriedly stopped him, he had his own reasons.

"Why?" Zhang Yuwen asked, puzzled.

"First, it's a fact that you deceived netizens, and Li Peiyu is an accomplice. Even if she clarifies, she's still an accomplice. Second, once this storm passes, her company can still operate as usual. Third, I'm a bit selfish. I think it might be a good thing if Yuxing Entertainment collapses. She's too tired every day. I'd rather she stay at home and take care of her husband and children."

“But…” Zhang Yuwen still hesitated.

"No buts, let's put this matter on hold for now," Lu Yuzhi said firmly.

“This…” Zhang Yuwen didn’t know what to say.

“There’s no need to jeopardize your and Xiao Fan’s future. Pei Yu wouldn’t want your careers to be ruined either. It would be easy for her to make a comeback. I want her to rest for a while, otherwise her health will collapse.”

"Alright then." Zhang Yuwen was finally persuaded by Lu Yuzhi.

On Friday night, Lu Yuzhi and Li Peiyu returned to Longyang Town. Lu Yuzhi thought that they would stay one night on Friday, one day on Saturday, one more night, and then go home on Sunday morning. This way, they could stay longer.

The luxury car slowly came to a stop in Li Peiyu's residential area, and the atmosphere inside the car became somewhat awkward.

Lu Yuzhi gripped Li Peiyu's hand tightly, a hint of nervousness and hesitation in his eyes, and asked, "How should I address your parents later?"

Looking at Lu Yuzhi's expression, Li Peiyu found it both cute and funny. She said lightly, "Of course you should call them Mom and Dad. Don't you want to?"

"No, it's just a little embarrassing." Lu Yuzhi frowned slightly, a shy expression on his face.

"Then I'll practice with you." Li Peiyu looked at Lu Yuzhi earnestly, her eyes full of encouragement.

“Now I’m my mom, you can call me that.” She straightened up, raised her chin slightly, and tried to imitate her mother’s demeanor.

Lu Yuzhi gritted his teeth, his expression extremely complicated. After a long while, he managed to utter a single word, still a questioning syllable, "ma?" His voice was so low it was almost inaudible, and his eyes were full of unease.

"Oh, good son," Li Peiyu responded immediately, a smug smile on his face.

"How can you take advantage of every little thing?" Lu Yuzhi glared at Li Peiyu.

"Why not take advantage of it?" Li Peiyu said playfully, sticking out her tongue.

"No, you have to give it back."

"How can I repay you? Should I call you 'Mom' too?"

“You call me Dad.” Lu Yuzhi’s lips practically curled into a smile.

"You wish."

"Shout or not, or I'll tickle you." Lu Yuzhi reached out and made a gesture as if to tickle Li Peiyu.

"Papa".

"You're asking for it." Lu Yuzhi pretended to be angry and raised his hand to tickle Li Peiyu.

The two argued about this issue in the car for quite a while before finally calming down.

"Stop fooling around, your parents must be getting impatient."

"Um."

Lu Yuzhi opened the car door and got out first, then walked around to the other side of the car from the back and opened the car door for Li Peiyu.

The driver, Cheng Cheng, quickly got out of the car, took the gift he had prepared from the trunk, and followed Lu Yu upstairs.
