"Sit with me for a while. I drove for over an hour in the rain, and now I'm dizzy and lightheaded. Sit with me for a bit until I'm more alert before you leave. You don't want anything to happen to me on the road, do you?" Wang Boyang's tone was tinged with weariness and helplessness.
"That's not the case."
Wang Boyang walked around to the other end of the car and considerately opened the passenger door for Gu Yan. Then, he sat back in the driver's seat.
For a moment, there was silence inside the car, with only the sound of raindrops pattering against the windows.
After a long while, Wang Boyang suddenly said, "Go back to sleep, I have to go. I need to go to the hospital to take care of my mother tomorrow."
"What's wrong with your mother?" Gu Yan asked curiously.
"Uremia," Wang Boyang replied calmly.
