Lu Yuzhi watched their conversation quietly from the side. Because of the distance, he couldn't hear the specific content of their conversation. However, judging from Qin Mingyue's expression, Li Peiyu had not suffered any loss.
No wonder she's the woman he's set his sights on.
Qin Mingyue, having been rebuffed by Li Peiyu, returned to the hotel in a huff and immediately called Old Master Lu.
"Grandpa, it's me, Mingyue." Qin Mingyue's voice carried a hint of grievance.
"Hmm, Xiaomingyue, have you seen Lu Yuzhi?" Old Master Lu asked with concern.
"I did see him, but he had a female companion with him, and I think I disturbed him." Qin Mingyue's tone was full of disappointment.

"No need, Grandpa, if Yuzhi likes it, let him keep it." Qin Mingyue feigned magnanimity, speaking in a teasing tone.
“He doesn’t like it. He’s just playing around. Don’t worry, Grandpa will take care of it for you.” Old Master Lu’s tone was firm and left no room for argument.
"Yes, thank you, Grandpa. Grandpa, you're so kind." A hint of joy finally appeared in Qin Mingyue's voice.
After hanging up the phone, Grandpa Lu immediately called Lu Yuzhi.
"Hurry back to China. You're not going to work anymore? Don't you want to be CEO anymore? Come back and see me immediately." Old Master Lu's voice was full of authority and anger.
"Fine," Lu Yuzhi replied coldly.
Qin Mingyue's meddling ruined his travel mood. Staying here would likely prevent Li Peiyu from fully enjoying herself. He decided to go back to China, settle everything, and then bring her back.
Lu Yu quickly packed his luggage and then boarded a plane back to China with Li Peiyu.
After the plane landed, Lu Yuzhi wanted to take Li Peiyu back to the villa, but Li Peiyu resolutely refused.
"Why won't you come home with me?" Lu Yu asked anxiously, his face full of confusion.
"Don't you know why I won't go back with you? What right do I have to go back with you?" Li Peiyu turned her head away, her expression somber.
"I told you I would handle it." Lu Yuzhi's tone was firm.
"Then let's talk about it after you've dealt with it," Li Peiyu said calmly.
“Okay, I’ll handle it as soon as possible. My grandfather will definitely come looking for you. If he does, you must tell me immediately. I’ll come to you right away.” Lu Yu’s eyes were full of worry and anxiety.
"Mmm," Li Peiyu responded softly.
"Don't give such a perfunctory answer. Do you really understand?" Lu Yuzhi frowned and raised his voice a few decibels.
“Lu Yuzhi, I can’t be shameless and insist on clinging to others.” Li Peiyu’s eyes were filled with stubbornness.
"So if my grandfather lets you leave, you will definitely leave me, right?" Lu Yuzhi's voice trembled slightly.
"Yes," Li Peiyu answered decisively, biting her lip.
"And what about me? You can leave me so easily, without even trying to fight for me?" Lu Yuzhi's eyes were filled with disappointment and pain.
"You can't fight city hall; struggling is futile. Lu Yuzhi, you're so old, you should understand this all too well."
“I’ve been in charge of the Lu family business for ten years. If I can still let Grandpa choke me, then these ten years have been wasted. Believe me, give me some time, I can handle it.” Lu Yuzhi gripped Li Peiyu’s shoulders tightly, looking at her with unwavering eyes.
"Li Peiyu, please wait for me a moment, okay?" Lu Yuzhi pleaded almost desperately.
"Mm." Li Peiyu nodded slightly.
"No matter what my grandfather says, don't listen to him, don't care about him. He just wants to bribe you. No amount of money can compare to keeping me. All my money is yours, so don't let money buy you off," Lu Yuzhi repeatedly warned.
"Are you going to fight for me and your grandfather?" Li Peiyu raised her head, a hint of doubt in her eyes.
“Yes, not only for you but also for myself, how could I let others control my life? So you have to have faith in me,” Lu Yuzhi said firmly.
Li Peiyu looked at Lu Yuzhi indifferently, her eyes devoid of any emotion; she truly had little faith in him. However, at the moment, she really didn't want to get bogged down in an endless argument with Lu Yuzhi and just wanted to end this exhausting conversation as soon as possible.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Why don't you believe me?" Lu Yuzhi stared at the composed Li Peiyu, his emotions beginning to crumble. His voice trembled slightly, a testament to his inner unease and pain.
His relationship with Li Peiyu was so fragile. From the very beginning, it was a transaction of power and money, and their emotional foundation was as thin as ice. Yet, deep down, he truly didn't want to lose her.
"Do you love me?" Lu Yu asked in a low, expectant voice.
Li Peiyu didn't know how to answer. She loved him, but she couldn't be brave for him.
“I know we haven’t known each other for very long, but that’s okay. We have a long future ahead of us, and you will love me even more in the future.” As he spoke, Lu Yuzhi hugged Li Peiyu tightly.
"Be brave for me. Just like you confronted Qin Mingyue today, confront my grandfather." Lu Yuzhi whispered in Li Peiyu's ear, his tone both pleading and encouraging.
How dare she talk back to his grandfather? Are Old Master Lu and Qin Mingyue even on the same level? She dares to talk back to Qin Mingyue because she's young and has no real influence, and besides, she's not even officially his fiancée. But Old Master Lu is different. Li Peiyu can already imagine how intimidating Old Master Lu's aura must be.
"I'll try my best," Li Peiyu managed to say.
