Chapter 15 Fifteenth Day of Raising a Cub

Regarding daily necessities for the rental house, Wei You has thought about purchasing them physically. After all, fifteen years from now there will be more choices for daily necessities in terms of appearance and convenience.

But considering the prices in the real world and the difference in the speed of time flow between the two worlds, Wei You decided to buy it directly in this world.

As for the things that he didn't need so urgently, he could buy them after he got back. He could still afford to wait for half an hour.

Considering that he had a lot of things to buy today, Wei You first went to the station to charter a van and asked the driver, Lao Wu, to help him transport the goods this afternoon for fifty yuan.

The first place the group went to was the home textile store.

Wei You bought the quilts, pillows, and four-piece sets needed for two rooms, as well as cushions, pillows, and blankets for the mahogany sofa in the living room.

Then we went to the supermarket and bought most of the daily necessities including kitchen utensils, toiletries, storage racks, etc.

After leaving the supermarket, he passed by a flower shop and inadvertently caught a glimpse of the buy one get one free sign at the door of the store. He stopped and picked out a few potted succulent plants.

Wei Xu followed him the whole time. Although he didn't know why Wei You wanted to buy these things, he still helped carry some light items.

It was not until Wei You finally entered the furniture store and picked out a small bookcase half a person's height that Wei Xu finally understood and asked, "Brother, have you bought a house?"

Wei You was trying to sit in the rocking chair, rocking back and forth on the footstool. Hearing this, he couldn't help laughing: "How can I afford a house!"

Wei Xu blinked: "Isn't it?"

Wei You waved at him, and when he came over, he sat up and held him on his lap, then he lay back in the rocking chair with Guazi in his arms and continued rocking, saying, "I rented a room."

Wei Xu's eyes widened slightly: "Where?"

"I'll take Guazi to see it later." Wei You kept it a secret, then asked, "How is it? Is this rocking chair comfortable?"

Wei Xu leaned on his shoulder. Because he was sunken in the chair and looking at the swaying ceiling, he actually felt a little dizzy.

But he really enjoyed the feeling of being close to Wei You, so he nodded and said "hmm".

Wei You patted the armrest and said, "Okay, let's buy this one."

The furniture store has door-to-door delivery service. Wei You left his address and made an agreement with the boss to have the goods delivered before 5 p.m., at which time he would exchange the money for the goods.

After two or three hours of walking around, the trunk and back seats of the van were packed tightly. When going back, Wei You could only sit in the passenger seat holding Wei Xu.

Fortunately, the furniture store and the rental house were only three streets apart, so the distance was not far and it only took a few minutes to squeeze there.

Wei Xu was puzzled when he found that the car finally stopped at the alley outside his house. He turned to look at Wei You and asked, "Is the house that brother rented close to my house?"

"What do you think?"

Wei Xu: “I think so.”

"That's it," Wei You said with a smile, and then pushed open the car door and said, "Okay, get out of the car."

After arriving at the place, Wei You first paid Lao Wu fifty yuan for the car fare, then opened the trunk and started moving things.

Old Wu felt embarrassed to charge so much money for such a short distance, so he got out of the car and helped carry things.

Wei Xu also picked up a large plastic bag of toiletries with his small body and walked forward, swaying behind Wei You.

I was wondering where my brother would move to when I saw him turn left and enter an old residential building that he was very familiar with.

Wei Xu couldn't help but open his eyes wide, a surprising idea popped into his mind, and his heart started beating rapidly.

When several people climbed up to the fourth floor and stopped at the door of Grandma Li's house, Wei Xu's excitement suddenly reached its peak.

He put the bag on the staircase next to him, raised his beautiful eyebrows and asked, "Brother, are you going to live across from my house?"

Wei You raised the corner of his lips: "Yes, surprise?"

Wei Xu didn't know how to express the joy in his heart, so he could only nod vigorously.

Wei You smiled tiredly, took out the key from his pocket, opened the door, and moved the things outside in first.

Then he asked Wei Xu to guard the door while he and Lao Wu ran again and carried all the things upstairs.

This shopping trip and the climbing up and down to carry the items had exhausted Wei You's physical strength. As soon as he closed the door, he collapsed on the sofa and couldn't move.

On the contrary, Wei Xu still looked energetic. After entering the room, he walked around the room first, then picked up a new broom as tall as him and started cleaning without saying a word.

He was so well-behaved and hardworking that Wei You felt a little embarrassed.

But he was too tired to get up, so he said to Guazi, "Don't clean it yet. When the rocking chair arrives, the movers will come in and out and make the floor dirty again."

Wei Xu thought about it and realized that it was indeed the case, so he temporarily put the broom by the door.

Wei You was just about to ask him to come over and rest together, but the next second he saw the boy picked up the rag and started wiping the dust off the tables, chairs and cabinets.

Wei You shook his head and sighed: "You are really a hard-working little bee."

Wei Xu turned his head, smiled at him and said, "Brother, take a rest. You are not tired at all."

"Yeah, I figured it out." Wei You said lazily.

After lying on the sofa with his eyes closed for more than ten minutes to recover some strength, Wei You got up, took out a rag and washbasin from the supermarket shopping bag, and prepared to wipe the kitchen window first.

Halfway through, he saw Guazi spinning around like a top without showing any sign of tiredness. He asked, "Why do I feel like you are happier than I am about my move?"

Wei Xu did not give a direct answer, but asked: "Can you come to your brother's house to play in the future?"

"It's okay for you to live here forever." Wei You pointed to the room with the word "Fu" on the door, "When that room is decorated, you can bring some clothes over. If you want to live in your own house, you can live in your own house. If you want to live in my house, you can live in my house."

Hearing this, Wei Xu first responded with "Okay", and then suddenly fell silent.

He quietly wiped the coffee table for a while, then raised his head and looked at Wei You's back in the kitchen. He paused and asked again: "Why is my brother so good to me?"

Wei You looked back at him and said, "Haven't I already answered this question before?"

"Because the melon cubs are cute."

"Yes." Wei You climbed onto the kitchen counter, wrung out the rag and wiped the pillars of the security window.

Of course, he couldn't say "Because you are a paper man cub that I raised in the game", so he answered as usual: "I just think you are well-behaved and cute, so I want to take care of you more."

But Wei Xu still couldn't figure it out, is he really that cute? Is he cute enough to make someone who has nothing to do with him treat him so well without reservation?

·

The two, one big and one small, cleaned intermittently for more than an hour. When it was almost five o'clock, the furniture store owner came up with a young assistant he hired, carrying a rocking chair and a small bookshelf.

The two of them worked together to carry up two large cardboard boxes, filling the empty space in the living room.

It took some time to assemble the rocking chair and bookcase. Several people worked for nearly half an hour to finish everything.

After seeing off the furniture store owner and his employees, Wei You cleaned the floor of the master bedroom, then moved the rocking chair in and placed it next to the glass door of the balcony.

Although the bed has not been made yet, the atmosphere of the room has obviously become different with the addition of this chair, and it is filled with a leisurely atmosphere.

Wei You was very satisfied with this arrangement.

The most expensive thing he bought today was this rocking chair, which cost him more than three hundred yuan, but it was also his favorite. Through it, he seemed to see himself rocking in a rocking chair in the future.

Walking out of the room, I saw the hardworking kid wiping the newly arrived bookcase.

Wei You glanced at the shopping bags piled on the ground. Although he found them an eyesore, he had no interest in sorting them out.

So after two seconds of silence, he said to Wei Xu: "Let's go and eat!"

·

We had dinner at a restaurant outside, and when we returned to the residential building, it was already completely dark.

The two walked up the stairs to the fourth floor. Wei You glanced at the light coming from under the door on the right and said to Wei Xu, "You should go home."

The boy hesitated and refused to move, occasionally glancing at the door on the left, his intention was obvious.

Wei You said, "I live next door to you. If you have any problem, just call me."

Wei Xu lowered his head and hesitated for a long time before taking out the key from his pocket to open the door of his house.

The moment the door opened, a very familiar damp smell wafted through the air, and Wei Xu's mood suddenly plummeted to the bottom.

He quickly turned around and saw Wei You still standing behind him. In the dim light of the corridor, he looked at him with a gentle smile and silently mouthed, "See you tomorrow."

For a moment, his mood brightened again and the corners of his mouth rose involuntarily.

·

Wei You was too tired that day, so he just tidied up the master bedroom and bathroom hastily, took a shower, made the bed, and went to bed early.

Without the alarm clock to wake me up, I slept until noon.

When he opened his eyes and saw the snow-white ceiling, Wei You was stunned for a few seconds, then he suddenly remembered that today was Monday and he forgot to send Guazai to school.

Sitting up from the bed, Wei You picked up the new watch he bought yesterday and took a look at it. It was already nine o'clock.

Since I can't catch up anyway, there's no need to rush.

Wei You got up more slowly, put his watch on his wrist, stretched, slowly put on his slippers and walked out of the room.

After washing up, Wei You took his wallet and prepared to go downstairs to buy some food.

Just as he was about to open the door, he suddenly found a note under his feet.

He picked up the note and read it, raising his eyebrows.

The note was probably stuffed through the crack of the door by Wei Xu in the morning. It read: "I'm going to school. I'll go to school by myself from now on. Brother, you can sleep in!"

It was signed "Guazai" and there was a little pig drawn behind it.

Wei You let out a light sigh.

Is this brat really considerate or is he hinting that he sleeps like a pig?
