Chapter 52: Raising a Cub Day 52

Wei You had imagined the scene of himself and Wei Xu reuniting in real life before, but he never expected the situation to be like this now.

A group of people are in a secret room that looks like a haunted house, with candles lit all around and creepy music ringing in their ears. Soon they will start a thrilling escape game.

After staring into those handsome eyes in silence for a few seconds, Wei You lowered his eyes and looked at his whole body.

He had grown taller again, now a few centimeters taller than me.

His shoulders are broader and his legs are longer, but his figure is still as thin as before, with broad shoulders, thin waist and long legs, just like a paper man.

Compared to his body shape, his facial features haven't changed much, except that under the dim light, the contours of his eyes appear deeper, making him look much more mature than in high school.

Wei Xu looked at him quietly, standing still and letting him look at him. When their eyes met again, he slightly raised the corners of his lips, and a smile appeared on his lips.

The smile seemed to contain nothing, yet it also seemed to contain all the words and emotions that one wanted to express after a long separation.

"What's wrong, Brother Xu, do you know this person?" One of Wei Xu's companions came over and asked.

Wei Xu nodded silently.

Wei You glanced at the person who was speaking, and then couldn't help but look at him again. He inexplicably felt that the other person's face looked a little uncomfortable.

Then he realized that this person must have had hyaluronic acid injections, as there were obvious marks on his nose and chin.

"My college roommates are all three," Wei Xu introduced in a light tone, "Li Yu, Zhang Chengxiang, and Xie Fan."

"Hi." The person who spoke just now was Li Yu, who greeted with a smile.

Wei You smiled at them and said, "What a coincidence. I also came here with my college roommate."

As he spoke, he pointed at Chai Liming who was looking up at the environment and said, "Just call him Brother Chai."

After hearing him introduce himself, Chai Liming walked deeper into the lobby and said, "It's easier to get along with people you know. I just checked and found that you need a key to get out of that door. Let's hurry up and look for clues."

Needless to say, no one wanted to stay in this gloomy environment any longer, and after a brief introduction, everyone dispersed and started looking for the key.

Wei You was the same. He was just thinking of looking around for clues. Seeing Wei Xu still standing there, he said, "Aren't you going to look for the key?"

The young man raised his eyebrows slightly, glanced around, and then he let out an "ah" as if he realized something.

Wei You was amused by his reaction: "Why are you so dumb now?"

Wei Xu smiled brightly, staring at the tiny dots of light flashing in his eyes, and said in a low and soft voice: "I'm distracted."

Wei You raised his eyebrows in surprise: "How can you still be distracted by this kind of music?"

"Yeah." Wei Xu nodded: "I thought it was a bit scary at first, but now I'm used to it."

After a pause, he asked again: "Are you scared?"

"I'm fine." Wei You put his hands on his hips and said in a nonchalant tone: "The brother who came with me is very powerful, a master of the secret room."

"Yeah."

"Can you two stop standing there chatting like idiots? Come over here and help me!"

When he heard Chai Liming's voice, Wei You realized that he had also been distracted by Wei Xu.

Turning around, I saw that they had stacked the chairs on the coffee table and moved to the center of the lobby. Three of them were holding the table and chairs. Chai Liming stood on a chair, tiptoed and stretched out his arms, trying hard to touch the beam on the top.

"Ouch, I can't do it anymore!" Chai Liming breathed a sigh of relief as he couldn't reach the beam.

"Whoever is taller between the two of you, come and help me. I really can't reach it." He sighed as he climbed down from the chair.

"It's so funny. The two tallest people are chatting nearby, and the four shorty are jumping around the table." Someone joked.

Wei You smiled embarrassedly and was about to go over to take over when he suddenly remembered that Wei Xu was taller than him now, so he patted the shoulder of the person next to him and said, "Go ahead, I'll hold the chair for you, be careful."

"Um."

Seeing Wei Xu successfully stepping onto the chair with his two legs lifted, Wei You helped hold down the table and chair and asked the others: "Is the key on the beam?"

"It should be," the buddy named Zhang Chengxiang answered, "Brother Chai just solved the puzzle on the table, and the answer is 'on the beam'."

"He's so amazing. I hadn't even finished reading the poem in the puzzle, but he solved it after just two glances. It's amazing." Li Yu praised in an exaggerated tone.

Chai Liming waved his hand in a nonchalant manner: "This kind of thing is not difficult. You will know the routine after playing it many times."

Not long after, Wei Xu really touched the key and jumped down from the chair.

He threw the key to Chai Liming, and the group was about to open the door on the side of the lobby when suddenly a cold draft blew through the hall, and all the candles in the room went out. In an instant, the whole room became pitch black.

"What's wrong?"

Li Yu just shouted, and suddenly a red light came from the corner of the main room. In the red light stood a woman in a red Xiuhe dress, with her head lowered and staring at them gloomily.

When the timid ones saw this scene, they immediately let out a panicked scream.

Before Wei You could react, someone grabbed his wrist and dragged him back several steps.

"Open the door, she's coming!"

"Where's the key? Who has it?"

"I'm driving it, it's too dark to see clearly, can someone turn on the light?"

Wei You took out his cell phone and turned on the flashlight. Just as he was about to walk towards the door, his wrist was pulled again.

He looked up in confusion and saw Wei Xu looking at the ghost girl with a serious expression on his face. He couldn't help but frowned: "What are you looking at?"

"Someone else is here." Wei Xu said, "It seems like there's a plot."

Wei You really didn't want to look at that horrible woman, but was attracted by the so-called "plot" he mentioned. He could only cover half of his face with his hand and look through his fingers.

Wei Xu was right, there really was another man in the corner over there.

The man is wearing a mandarin jacket and a melon-shaped hat, and his attire looks like that of a female elder.

"The door is open." Li Yu said to them.

"Wait, don't go yet, take a look at the plot." Chai Liming also discovered the situation over there.

Then a few people huddled by the door and watched the two actors' play. The plot was basically about a father forcing his daughter to drip blood on a marriage certificate.

"It seems that the marriage certificate is the key and it may be used later." Wei Xu said softly.

"We'll talk about this later," Wei You said, "Can you stop holding my hand?"

"Aren't you afraid?"

"How can I have that?"

"Are you not afraid of covering your face with your hands?"

“…”

In the end, Wei Xu let go of his hand under Wei You's gaze.

After coming out of the door, there is a corridor filled with paper figures.

If Wei You was just a little nervous and frightened when facing the made-up female ghost before, now that he was surrounded by such a group of strange things, he was really scared.

The same went for the others, their IQs dropped to the lowest point in the atmosphere of fear. Fortunately, they had Chai Liming, an experienced and courageous boss, to lead them through the difficulties, so as to avoid panic.

After escaping from the corridor and the bride's boudoir, everyone came to a hall-like place again.

However, this hall was not as empty as the first one. Instead, it was decorated very festively, with red silks hung everywhere, wedding characters posted on the wall, and a red paper sedan parked in the middle.

Although there were festive elements everywhere, the place looked eerie due to the dim lighting, and there was an eerie atmosphere in the air.

I don’t know who triggered what, but the eerie music that had been looping in my ears since I came in suddenly changed into a suona tune that was both happy and sad.

And the volume of the song was slowly increasing, as if something was approaching.

Chai Liming wanted to take advantage of the last moment to look inside the bridal sedan, when he suddenly heard a sharp voice saying "The auspicious time has arrived", and paper ghosts holding musical instruments jumped out from the darkroom one after another.

Everyone was suddenly in a panic. Seeing the ghost jumping towards them, no one wanted to solve the puzzle anymore. They turned around and ran in all directions.

"Fuck, don't come over here!"

"Help, can I quit? I don't want to play anymore!"

“Ahhh, that’s so scary!”

Wei You was also genuinely frightened. Although he knew that these were all played by actors, it was difficult for him to remain calm in such an atmosphere.

He was originally running behind Chai Liming, but Wei Xu grabbed his wrist and took him in another direction.

Wei Xu obviously ran away with a purpose. He pulled him back to the previous room, and the two hid in the closet in the room and closed the door before the group of actors, who were either zombies or ghosts, chased them.

With something hiding his body, Wei You regained some consciousness. Especially when he heard the other teammates outside yelling and shouting, he was particularly glad that he followed the right person.

"But, will we be forgotten if we hide here?" He lowered his voice and asked Wei Xu who was sitting opposite him.

"I'll go out when it's quiet outside." Wei Xu replied, then turned on the flashlight on his mobile phone to provide light for the dark and narrow closet.

Wei You noticed that he was still holding his hand, but this time he didn't let him let go.

Although it was a bit embarrassing, he had to admit that Wei Xu's large and warm palm gave him a sense of security at this time.

"The sound of this suona is too terrible." He sighed, panting and still in shock.

"Play some music?"

Wei You thought he was joking and chimed in, "How about a piano piece to cultivate your sentiments?"

Unexpectedly, the other party actually picked up the phone and played a slow piano piece.

Wei You was shocked: "Are you crazy? You will attract them here."

"It's okay. It's so noisy outside. I can't hear you."

"No, no, no, turn it off. It's too scary." Wei You really admired his courage. He dared to play music at a time like this. He didn't even dare to breathe too loudly now.

Wei Xu turned off the music and said, "Then let's do something else to divert our attention?"

"do what?"

"You still remember that you owe me a promise."

Wei You had roughly guessed what he was referring to, but he still asked, "What?"

Wei Xu said: "Look at each other for fifteen seconds."

really……

Wei You frowned and turned his head to look away: "Stop making trouble. Don't you see what kind of occasion we are in now?"

"This is the best way." Wei Xu said stubbornly, turned on his phone and set a fifteen-second countdown, then raised his face and looked at him seriously: "Let's start, brother, look at me."

Although he felt it was ridiculous, there was no way to avoid being stared at in this situation, so Wei You had to turn around and look at him.

The light from the mobile phone flashlight was not very bright. Wei Xu placed it below, and the light it produced was actually a bit dull, but Wei Xu's good looks still stood up to the half-bright and half-dark light.

Wei You also wanted to concentrate on watching him, but the music and noise outside were too disturbing, and he couldn't help but get distracted.

Maybe he was too nervous, but he kept hearing something jumping towards him.

"It seems like a ghost is coming." He mouthed something to Wei Xu, indicating him to look into the gap in the cabinet door.

Wei Xu frowned, seemingly dissatisfied that he was still thinking about other things at this time.

"It's true..." Wei You hadn't finished his words when he saw the person in front of him suddenly approaching.

Wei You stepped back reflexively, but there was a cabinet behind him and he had nowhere to hide.

He only felt a gentle and powerful hand pressing on the back of his neck, and the next second, a dry and soft kiss was imprinted on his lips.

In an instant, Wei You felt that the whole world became quiet, with only the sound of his heartbeat shaking like thunder.

The young man's kiss clearly carried a hint of cool mint, but he felt that there was nothing in the world hotter than the other person's breath.

Just when he was panicking, the cabinet door was suddenly opened. Wei You turned his head in horror and raised his eyes to meet the gaze of a paper ghost with crying and laughing faces drawn on it, looking down at him.

After staring at each other fearfully for two seconds, the paper ghost closed the cabinet door again.

The author has something to say: Ghost: Although I am not a human, you are real dogs.
