Chapter 10

The night was quiet and lonely, with only the howling of the cold wind outside the window and the faint sound of falling snow.

There was no light in the room, and it was dark.

The little boy lay on the bed and closed his eyes gently, but opened them again after a while.

He opened his dark eyes, stared at the high ceiling for a while, then turned his head to look out the window.

The curtains were neatly tied on both sides, and through the clear windows one could see the dim night outside.

He doesn't like to draw the curtains, and if it isn't too cold, he won't even close the windows.

After being locked in a closed compartment for several days and nights, he no longer liked staying in dark places. When he first returned home, he had to turn on the lights every night to fall asleep.

There is no moon tonight, and I can only vaguely see the lights on in the garden, hazy and isolated by the heavy snow.

The boy withdrew his gaze and glanced at the empty end of the bed.

That little girl shouldn't come tonight, right?

Realizing that he was thinking of her again, the boy's face looked a little ugly. He pursed his lips and looked away.

It’s better that he doesn’t come, he can finally have a good sleep, he thought.

But in fact, he was not sleepy at all at this moment. He stared at the ceiling with his eyes wide open, not feeling like sleeping at all.

How many sheep?

He remembered the method his mother taught him when he was a child, but the idea only flashed through his mind before he shook his head to deny it.

Impossible, he would never do such a childish thing in his life.

He turned over and sat up, his handsome little face full of irritability caused by insomnia.

Insomnia is a particularly painful thing. He has often experienced it in the past six months since he returned home. He would either wake up from nightmares or, like now, be unable to fall asleep no matter what.

“Aaaaa——”

At this moment, there was a slight sound suddenly coming from outside the door. The sound was very light and could not be heard at all if you didn't listen carefully.

The boy's heart moved, and he quickly lay down with his hands on both sides.

He closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep, but he pricked up his ears to listen to the noise outside.

"Click——" the sound of the door handle turning was heard.

Immediately after the creaking sound, the sound of footsteps rang out in the silent room.

The boy's back stiffened, and all his senses became sharp.

"whee--"

A child's soft laughter reached his ears.

His stiff back slowly relaxed, and his rapidly beating heart gradually slowed down.

It really is that little girl... He muttered in his heart, but the expression on his face had softened a lot.

Xiao Chi Rui threw the pillow onto the bed, then moved a small stool out from under the bed, stepped on it, and climbed up to the end of the bed using both hands and feet.

She discovered this small stool a few days ago. With it, it is much easier to get out of bed.

She climbed onto the mattress with a grunt and lay down in a spread-eagle position, letting out a contented sigh.

Brother Han's bed is really big. She can roll around at the end of the bed without worrying about falling off. Although the cushion is not very soft, it is very comfortable to lie on, and it also has a nice smell.

She rolled over twice, then turned her head to look at Ye Minghan who was lying straight on the bed.

Brother Han fell asleep today...

Xiao Chi Rui turned over and crawled towards him carefully.

Feeling the dent in the mattress, the boy tensed up again. He opened his eyes slightly to see what the little guy was up to.

In the cover of night, Xiao Chi Rui did not realize that he was awake.

She staggered to the young master's side, supported her small hands on the mattress, and poked her head out to look at his face.

She was small in stature, and even if she tried to raise her body, she couldn't raise it much higher. The tip of her nose almost touched the boy's face, and her breath gently sprayed on his face.

Itchy, with a sweet milky scent...

The young master was a little dazed when he smelled the fragrance.

And just then, he felt a tiny finger poking his cheek gently.

The little girl's fingertips were soft and warm.

Although her movements were very gentle, the young master still frowned and felt a little angry.

How dare this little guy poke his face!

Just as he was about to get angry, the fingers poking his face suddenly turned into delicate and soft palms, and then touched his cheek.

This little guy not only poked him, but also touched his face!

The young master was completely furious.

“It’s cool…”

A sweet, baby-like voice rang in his ears, extinguishing the fire that had just started burning in his heart.

The little girl's warm little hands gently covered his face, bringing a soft and warm feeling, and even a hint of milky fragrance.

When the little hands left him, he actually felt a little lost in his heart.

Wait, lost?

There is no way he would be lost!

Hearing a rustling sound beside him, he subconsciously opened his eyes.

The little girl had already left his side and crawled to his feet, grabbing the quilt with her small hands and pulling it towards him clumsily.

The thick quilt was a little heavy for her, and she pulled it with great effort, as if she had used all her strength, and finally pulled it to his chest.

From beginning to end, she didn't realize that he was awake.

How stupid, he muttered to himself.

The little girl squatted beside it, tilted her head to look at the quilt, then stretched out her little hand, grabbed the edge of the quilt and pulled it up.

"It's so heavy, um——"

It turned out that she pulled the quilt hard and accidentally fell down, falling on the boy, with her furry little head resting on his neck.

Ye Minghan groaned at her sudden attack, frowned and turned his head away.

What on earth is this little guy doing?

He slowed down, waiting for her to get off him, but after waiting for a long time he didn't see any movement from her and could only hear her shallow breathing.

“…”

Xiao Chi Rui actually wanted to get up, but as soon as she closed her eyes, she felt...

I’m so tired and have no strength left. Let me take a rest before climbing again!

Then she fell into a deep sleep.

In her sleep, she vaguely felt herself crawling up, returning to the end of the bed, hugging her soft little pillow, and falling asleep happily.

The young man lowered his eyes and looked at the little girl who had her arms around his neck and was rubbing her cheek against him. His face turned black.

If there was light at this moment, you could see that the tips of his ears had been dyed crimson and were even spreading to his neck.

He pursed his lips, reached out and gently pushed the soft little body.

Didn't wake him up.

He withdrew his hand and stared at the ceiling, lost in thought.

He had already pushed her away, but she was sleeping so soundly, and she was too heavy, and she was hugging his neck so tightly, so he didn't push her away.

Yes, that's right, that's it.

He came to a conclusion, and his expression relaxed, with the corners of his mouth curling up slightly.

I don’t know what happened. I was completely sleepless just now, but now, listening to the girl’s shallow breathing beside my ear, I feel my eyelids getting heavier and heavier…

Gradually, the boy's head tilted to the side and leaned against the little girl's head. He closed his eyes and fell asleep in a daze.

Outside the glass window, there was a blanket of snow and a chilly wind, but the two children sleeping in each other's arms in the room seemed so peaceful and warm...

Ye Minghan drove the car and slowly drove into his own garden.

Although it is early autumn in September, the Ye family garden is still green, with small white flowers dotted on the lush branches.

The faint scent of jasmine was blown to every corner of the garden by the wind. Ye Minghan sniffed the fragrance, not knowing what he was thinking about, and was a little absent-minded.

"Master, you're back." Butler Chen's voice rang out, bringing him back to reality. "Are you hungry? Do you want the kitchen to prepare a midnight snack?"

"No."

Ye Minghan waved his hand, got out of the car and went back into the room with him, looking around subconsciously.

The living room was very quiet, with no one in it.

"The master and the mistress have gone back to their room to rest. Miss Rui has been in the room. She just turned off the lights. She must be asleep." Butler Chen said.

Ye Minghan couldn't help but glare at him, feeling dissatisfied with always having his thoughts seen through.

Butler Chen just looked back at him with a smile, looking calm and composed.

In addition to their years of affection, it was also because he knew that although the young master was dissatisfied, what he said was indeed what he wanted to hear.

Sure enough, Ye Minghan just glared at him and turned to go upstairs.

Butler Chen smiled and watched his back until he disappeared at the stairs, then he walked into the kitchen.

When we reached the third floor, as soon as footsteps were heard, the lights on both sides of the corridor lit up automatically.

Ye Minghan stood in front of the door of the room, his hand holding the door handle frozen in place.

He turned his head and looked towards the room opposite.

The pink and white door was tightly closed, and there was no light from under the crack. It was pitch black, just like countless nights in the past.

He stared at the door opposite, and a feeling of emptiness suddenly rose from the bottom of his heart.

That little girl who would sweetly call him "Brother Han" and had a smile as warm as a sunflower, wasn't she...

Never see you again?

“Aaaaa——”

As he was watching, the door opposite suddenly opened slowly.

Ye Minghan was startled and his pupils contracted slightly.

I saw a girl in a pink nightgown sticking her head out from behind the dark door and looking out.

Her bright eyes and the faint smile on her lips were just like the little girl in his memory...

Overlapped together.
