Chapter 8

A little girl of five or six years old was sitting on the carpet playing with building blocks.

"Ms. Rui."

The nanny called softly, and the little girl looked up, her big watery eyes filled with a smile.

"Sister, I loaded a car."

She raised her little hand and showed the building blocks she had just assembled to the nanny.

The nanny smiled and nodded, "Miss Rui is great, but we have to go to bed. Can I take you to brush your teeth?"

"good."

Little Chi Rui responded softly, put down the building block car reluctantly, then opened his little arms and waited for the nanny to come and hold him.

The nanny hugged her tightly and went upstairs together.

When I reached the end of the corridor and was about to push the door, the little girl suddenly pointed to the room opposite and said in surprise, "It's bright!"

The nanny looked in the direction her finger pointed.

The door of the room opposite was closed, with light leaking out from the crack.

"That's Master Han's room. He came back to live here today."

The nanny whispered something, then carried her into the room, her movements a little anxious, as if she was afraid that someone in the opposite room would suddenly come out.

Little Chi Rui looked at the room opposite, her big eyes full of curiosity.

She didn't look away until the door was closed and she could no longer see.

The nanny helped Xiao Chi Rui wash up and changed her into a pink cotton nightgown.

The heating in the house is on all day long, so it's warm and you don't need to wear particularly thick clothes even in winter.

"Miss Rui, you have to be good and don't disturb Young Master Han, okay?" The nanny carried little Chi Rui to the bed and admonished her earnestly.

Master Han? Is that the little brother from today?

Xiao Chi Rui blinked and nodded slightly, his eyes filled with confusion and innocence.

The nanny touched the top of her head gently. The little girl was so well-behaved and cute, like a little white rabbit. She was so adorable.

After taking care of her for a few days, she was very obedient, so the nanny only said a few words and didn't worry about her anymore.

"Good night, Miss Rui."

The nanny kissed little Chi Rui on the forehead and turned off the lights. When she had coaxed him enough, she got up and left the room.

The door closed gently, and in the darkness, the little girl lying on the bed opened her eyes.

The moonlight penetrated into the room through the gaps in the curtains. Although it was not that bright, it did bring some light.

Xiao Chi Rui looked at the dark ceiling and suddenly pulled up the quilt to cover his head.

After a while, she lifted the quilt again and secretly glanced towards the window.

The curtains swayed gently, casting shadows on the floor, like a monster with bared fangs and claws.

The little body trembled slightly, and little Chi Rui turned over and closed his eyes in fear.

“Woo-woo-woo—woo-woo—”

The biting cold wind outside was hitting the window, making a series of shrill sounds like ghost cries.

Xiao Chi Rui covered her ears and pursed her lips slightly.

"Mom..." she murmured, and her small voice drifted into the night.

After a long while, the little girl suddenly remembered something and turned over and sat up.

She wiped her eyes with her little hands, climbed out of bed with a grunt, and just after running two steps, she turned back, pulled the pillow off the bed and hugged it in her arms.

She walked to the door with her short legs, looked around, and ran to bring a small stool over.

Using a small stool as a support, she successfully opened the door with a "click".

“Woo-woo-woo—woo-woo—”

The biting cold wind hit the window again, and the ghost's screams seemed to echo in my ears.

Little Chi Rui quickly jumped off the stool, picked up the pillow and walked to the door of the room opposite.

The room opposite was closed and the lights were off. She stood in front of the door and looked back at her own room.

It seemed as if some terrible evil ghost lived in the dark room, emitting bursts of frightening screams.

Her little body trembled and she didn't dare to run back to move the stool.

Xiao Chi Rui turned around, leaned against the door, stood on tiptoes, and finally grabbed the door handle.

"Click--" The door handle turned, and the door creaked open a crack.

The little girl grinned, but before she could be happy, she lost her balance as the door opened and fell to the floor with a thump.

Fortunately, there was a soft pillow in front of her, so she didn't get hurt from the fall.

"who?!"

The young man's vigilant rebuke rang out in the room.

Not only was Xiao Chi Rui not frightened, but she grinned instead.

She climbed up using her hands and feet, ran to the bed holding the pillow, and lay down on the edge of the bed.

The boy on the bed was just awakened and saw a dark shadow running from the door. He frowned and reached out to turn on the bedside lamp.

A slightly yellowish light lit up the room.

Looking at the little girl lying on the bed and looking at him with a smile, the young boy's frown did not relax.

"It's you?" He said with a sullen face, "What are you doing in my room?"

Xiao Chi Rui rolled her eyes, she knew that this little brother didn't like her and in the afternoon he had fiercely refused to let her get close to his model.

But the room was so dark, and she felt like there was some monster hiding there, so she didn't dare sleep alone.

The little brother is so fierce, he must not be afraid of monsters!

"Brother Han, let me warm your bed."

She said this crisply, not realizing the ambiguity of the words.

The little girl held her pillow, climbed onto the boy's bed nimbly, and threw herself beside him.

"What are you doing?!"

The young boy Minghan's face suddenly changed, and he stretched out his hand to push her away, but when he touched her small body, it felt like touching a ball of soft cotton, and the strength in his hand unconsciously weakened.

Little Chi Rui kicked his feet happily, then swiftly lifted the quilt and got into his bed.

"Brother Han, can I sleep with you?"

Feeling the little body twisting and turning in the quilt, the boy's face was full of irritation.

"You...what are you talking about? Get off my bed right now!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a furry little head popped out from under his quilt.

The little girl hid in the quilt, hugging a small pink pillow, looking at him pitifully with her big eyes, like an elf who had lost her way in the night.

"Brother Han, I will be good and not disturb you, just let me sleep with you."

The little hand grabbed his sleeve and shook it gently, and she spoke to him coquettishly in a sweet little voice.

When had the boy ever met such a difficult little girl?

He was slightly startled, and a suspicious blush appeared on his ears, but fortunately it could not be seen clearly in the dim night.

"You, you go away! Get out of my room!" he roared angrily.

He stood up with all his thorns erect and put on his most ferocious expression.

Even though he had been back for half a year, those dark memories were still seared into his mind, so much so that he couldn't trust anyone.

He stared at the little girl, his eyes full of warning hostility and deep vigilance.

Xiao Chi Rui tugged at her fingers dejectedly and looked back at the door.

It was pitch black outside the corridor, as if something was waiting for an opportunity to move, and the humming "ghost cry" continued, making her shrink involuntarily.

She turned her head again and looked at the boy bathed in warm light.

Although the little brother is very fierce, his body is warm and his voice is super nice. Compared with the monsters in the dark, he is not scary at all!

"Brother Han..."

Little Chi Rui hugged the pillow and looked at Ye Minghan with her big wet eyes.

"Then...then can I sleep at the end of the bed?"

The young master's ferocious expression froze.

He thought she would be scared to tears, or at worst run away in fear, so why did she ignore his words again and again?

"You really want to sleep with me?"

The boy narrowed his eyes slightly.

Little Chi Rui didn't see the murderous intent in his eyes, and nodded vigorously, "Yeah!"

The little girl looks like a doll, delicate and pretty, especially her pair of round deer eyes. When she stares at you with her eyes wide open, she looks very sincere.

The young man pursed his lips, and finally said with a dark face: "Okay."

"But you are not allowed to talk to me or touch me, or else..."

Seeing that he agreed, Xiao Chi Rui nodded hurriedly, "Yeah, okay, thank you, Brother Han!"

She responded with a smile, then swiftly crawled to the end of the bed and curled up into a ball with her pillow.

"Brother Han, good night~"

She said good night to him sweetly, then rubbed her head against the soft pillow and closed her eyes peacefully.

As long as Brother Han is here, the monsters won't come, she thought happily.

The boy choked on the threat he was about to utter.

He looked at the little girl who was curled up at the end of the bed and sleeping soundly. Her pretty little face looked a little dark.

After a while, he pursed his lips, reached out to turn off the bedside lamp, pulled up the quilt and lay down.

Outside the corridor, the housekeeper who came to check on them because of the noise he made waved away the nanny and left quietly.

There was a hint of excitement and joy in his expression.

"You, you are talking nonsense!"

In the living room, Chi Rui pushed Ye Minghan away and glared at him with a red face.

Ye Minghan slowly straightened up, folded his arms, and looked at her little face with interest.

The girl was puffed up, her eyes were bright and lively, and her angry look made people want to continue teasing her.

"I'm talking nonsense?" Ye Minghan raised his eyebrows. "If you don't believe me, you can ask Uncle Chen."

Chi Rui paused, looking at his calm expression, and suddenly became a little hesitant.

Could it be true?

No, impossible! She would never do such a thing!

Chi Rui wanted to ask more, but Ye Minghan had already turned around and walked towards the door with his hands in his trouser pockets.

"Master, it's time to eat."

Butler Chen, who was hiding in the kitchen and observing secretly, hurried out and said to his young master.

"No, I have something to do. I'll be back later."

Ye Minghan waved his hand and disappeared at the door without looking back.

Chi Rui looked at the man's back as he left. Her shame and anger slowly subsided, but she couldn't help frowning again.

Didn't he just say he was hungry? Why did he go out again?

Ye Minghan went straight to the garage and got into the sports car.

The man reflected in the rearview mirror had his thin lips slightly pursed, his eyes were dark, his expression was cold, without a trace of gentleness.

He took out his cell phone and made a call.

The author has something to say: Young Master Ye: I am not talking nonsense.

Chi Rui: That... that doesn't count ≥﹏≤
