Fu Yan prepared to make one last attempt. He arrived at Ouyang Maomao's hospital room, his heart heavy.
After pressing the doorbell, the caregiver opened the door. Upon seeing Fu Yan, Ouyang Maomao's expression became somewhat impatient.
But she still wanted to hear what Fu Yan had to say, so she waved her hand, and the caregiver opened the door and went out.
Fu Yan looked at Ouyang Maomao with a determined gaze. He often felt the urge to smoke when he was in a bad mood, but seeing Ouyang Maomao's large pregnant belly, he withdrew the cigarette from his fingers and said sincerely:
“I know you don’t like me, but the child is mine, and I have a responsibility to raise him.”
Ouyang Maomao crossed her arms and coldly replied, "I don't need you to raise this child. I can take care of him myself."
Fu Yan frowned, genuinely unable to understand why she would do such a thing, and decided to make one last attempt to change her mind.
He threw the cigarette in his hand into the trash can, looked up at Ouyang Momo, and said, "I don't want to cause you any trouble, I just want to do something for the child."
Ouyang Maomao's voice carried a hint of impatience: "You don't understand me at all, nor do you understand what the child needs."
Fu Yan tried to explain: "I will try my best to learn how to be a good father and give my child the best life."
Ouyang Maomao shook her head: "That's not the point. The point is that I don't want to have anything to do with you."
A flicker of pain crossed Fu Yan's eyes: "Why? What did I do wrong?"
Ouyang Maomao took a deep breath, and her eyes gradually reddened.
"You didn't do anything wrong, it's just that I simply don't like you. Being with you makes me feel like a caged bird, unhappy and unfree. Your love is too much of a kidnapping!"
Fu Yan smiled coldly: "Heh, that's what you say again. But Maomao, the child needs a complete family. He needs his father's company."
Ouyang Maomao also sneered: "The child has me, that's enough. He doesn't need your fake concern."
Fu Yan really wanted to hit someone.
False concern?
She will never see his sincerity!
He didn't even take a good look at how many times he had humbled himself in front of her.
He wanted to yell at her, but looking at her face, he wanted to yell at himself even more.
Even though he was furious, he suppressed his anger and pleaded in his voice, "Cat, please give me a chance to prove that I can be a good father."
Ouyang Maomao's expression was indifferent, and her tone was firm: "Impossible, I will not let you get close to the child's life."
After hearing this, he looked helplessly at the woman he had secretly loved for seven years, knowing that he couldn't persuade her.
"Kitty, one last question: Did you ever pity me, and that's why you kept telling me that if I gave myself to you, you would stay with me?"
With red eyes, Ouyang Maomao replied resolutely, "Yes, I don't love you. I only did it out of pity for you that night! I love Shengyun, and I will always find ways to get close to her."
Looking at Ouyang Maomao in front of him, Fu Yan felt as if he were seeing himself.
He loved her for seven years, and she loved Jiang Shengjun for seven years. To put it bluntly, they were the same kind of persistent people.
"But cat... Shengjun and Su Wanwan are going to each other! Wake up!"
Ouyang Maomao remained indifferent throughout, like a robot devoid of emotion. "If I don't love you, I don't love you. I know exactly what I'm doing. The child is indeed yours..."
Before she could speak, Fu Yan interrupted, "So you're going to use these two children in your belly to tie Jiang Shengjun to you?"
In the special VIP ward, she lay quietly on the hospital bed, and a complex expression appeared on her face when she heard these words.
Fu Yan continued to remind her, "Do you know that some people can't be tied down by anything? Are you crazy?"
"You know you can't bind the person you love no matter what, so why are you using your love to hold me hostage! Why!"
"I didn't want to, kitty, that night..."
Recalling that scene, Fu Yan was filled with endless regret. In despair, he asked her:
"Tell me the truth, that night you were with me, did you already plan to use the child to control A-Jun?"
"Yes, are you satisfied now? Have you gotten the answer you wanted?"
The anger in my heart was instantly ignited.
His voice trembled as he asked, "Why did you do this? This is my child! My child! Why did you do this!"
He broke down.
It was more devastating than the day I committed suicide.
"Those are my children, Ouyang Maomao, twins at that! Ouyang Maomao, what are you doing?"
Ouyang Maomao looked at him coldly and replied indifferently, "These are indeed your children, but they are my flesh and blood. Moreover, this is my choice, and it has nothing to do with you."
Ouyang Maomao clenched his fists, trying hard to control his emotions and calm himself down.
"How could you be so selfish? Did you even consider the child's feelings?" His voice carried a hint of despair.
Ouyang Maomao sneered: "The child? I'll take good care of him. As for you, I've already said I don't need you at all!"
Fu Yan felt as if his heart was being torn apart; he could not accept Ouyang Maomao's heartless reply.
"We were so good to you, what am I to you? How could you treat me like this? How could you treat them like this? What did I even like about you? Before, you would do anything I said, but what have I, Fu Yan, liked for the past seven years?!"
Fu Yan's eyes were filled with pain, and his vocal cords were throbbing with anguish.
