"Cough cough!"
Su Wanwan coughed twice, then half-squatted and slid back to the sofa under his arm.
Under the dim light of the streetlights, she quickly reassured herself.
"Su Wanwan, Su Wanwan, he's your older brother, he's your older brother, he's your older brother! Don't back down, don't argue with him, don't scold him! He just helped you pay off 5 million in debt today, hold back, hold back, phew~"
After a few seconds, Su Wanwan hugged her little rabbit doll and looked towards her room.
"Young Master Jiang is a guest, so please sleep in my room. I'll sleep in the living room tonight."
Before Jiang Shengjun could answer, Su Wanwan pulled up the small blanket she had just given him and took over the sofa.
Jiang Shengjun felt a bit hot wearing Su Wanwan's bunny ear nightgown with a thin layer of fur, so seeing Su Wanwan like that, he had no choice but to go back to her room to sleep.
Before leaving, he added, "I'll leave you tonight. Your room has been cleaned, and I'll pick you up tomorrow."
Su Wanwan nodded: "Okay, let's talk about it tomorrow."
As she watched Jiang Shengjun's retreating figure, she felt a surge of anxiety, partly because of the cat, and partly because of herself.
There was no one else in the living room. Su Wanwan opened her phone to contact Maomao, only to see a message from Maomao—
[Wanwan, the IP address of the person who scammed you is actually at Jiang Shengjun's house. His system is very difficult to hack, so I can't find out exactly who on his family scammed you. But thank you, Wanwan, now I have another reason to go find him.]
Before Su Wanwan could figure out what to say to Ouyang Maomao, she overheard Ouyang Maomao making a phone call to Jiang Chenjun.
"Jiang Shengjun, you're something else! Someone in your family dared to swindle money from my Wanwan. You'll be held fully responsible. Also, be careful, there might be a thief in your own family."
Jiang Shengjun climbed into bed, thinking about how Ah Q had transferred money to Su Wanwan when they first met.
He answered carefully.
“Miss Ouyang, my family has already taken care of her money.”
I was just about to ask you a question: how did you and Su Wanwan meet?
As far as I know, you don't seem to have any friends who are that poor, do you?
She's so poor she has to share an apartment with others, and the environment isn't great either. Do you know much about her?
"What do you mean, Jiang Shengjun? Do you think I'm such a materialistic person? Do I only associate with rich people?"
Ouyang Maomao was a little angry.
Even though Ouyang Maomao's tone was somewhat reproachful and misunderstanding, Jiang Shengjun was not angry when he heard it and replied gently.
"No, I just wanted to know how you two met, that's all."
God knows how much he hates being misunderstood, but he really couldn't find any information about Su Wanwan, not even about her parents.
Their identities were kept strictly confidential, so Jiang Chenyun always felt that Su Wanwan was not simple.
At this moment, Ouyang Maomao also recalled her memories from before she was ten years old, and her voice became somewhat heavy.
"The Ouyang family and the Su family were the closest of the four major families back then. Ever since Wanwan's grandfather organized the four major families to build the Yangxin Hall, the conflicts between the families have begun."
The Su family reduced their disputes and closed the Yangxin Hall. Since most of the assets came from the Su family, the Su family went bankrupt and perished as a result. Wanwan was a descendant of the Su family.
Subsequently, the Jiang family, which is your family, gradually rose to prominence, while the Su family never rose again.
Wanwan and I have known each other since we were little; our friendship is unbreakable.
After listening, Jiang Shengjun suddenly felt sorry for Su Wanwan.
"In the past, it was a family feud; now it's a feud over the key to the Hall of Mental Cultivation. I don't even know what's so great about the Hall of Mental Cultivation."
If I find it in the future, I'll destroy this key; that way, I'll fulfill Grandpa's wish.
After a moment of thought, the two of them stopped, holding their phones in silence, their minds filled with memories of the family feud from years ago.
Jiang Shengjun now understood why he couldn't find any information about Su Wanwan's family.
When the Su family fell from grace, their online information was cleared and locked with a single click, and no one with the necessary permissions could access any of their information.
The air was quiet at this moment, and Ouyang Maomao didn't speak either. She was wondering why Jiang Shengjun was suddenly so concerned about Su Wanwan.
The most frightening thing was the sudden silence, so Jiang Shengjun took the initiative to speak first: "Then, Miss Ouyang, please rest."
"Okay, Young Master Jiang, you go to sleep first. I need to talk to Wanwan about something."
Jiang Shengjun shook his head helplessly, hung up the phone, and pulled the covers over his head. A delicate fragrance wafted to his nose, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously turned up again.
Sleeping in my wife's bed is so comfortable.
His long, slender fingers swiped across the screen to send a message to Ah Q.
"Ah Q, prepare a complete set of work clothes for me at Youyou Community tomorrow. I'll sleep at Wanwan's place tonight."
Ah Q looked up at Su Wanwan's room window from downstairs in the Youyou residential complex and asked in shock, "The president and the young mistress slept together?"
Jiang Shengjun felt increasingly guilty towards Su Wanwan for sleeping in the living room while he slept in the bedroom that night.
Although his wife spoke up, he did feel somewhat guilty for doing this.
"President?" Ah Q asked curiously.
Jiang Shengjun glanced at the time; it was 2:00 AM, quite late. He coldly replied, "Ah Q, don't ask what you shouldn't ask."
Ah Q dared not ask any more questions and silently drove back to the Jiang family villa.
He knew he shouldn't covet his boss's wife, but he couldn't help wondering what kind of relationship Su Wanwan could have with Jiang Shengyun after their divorce.
Around 3 a.m., her roommate Zhou Shan came home with a group of tattooed young men. The sound of her key opening the door woke Su Wanwan up.
In a daze, Su Wanwan rubbed her eyes, and three or five energetic young men came up to look her over.
