In the quiet of the village night, Su Wanwan and the hotel owner followed the sound of a baby crying not far from the hotel.
The two women, holding flashlights, clutched Su Wanwan's clothes tightly, looking somewhat frightened. They said, "Could it really be that little brat, Miss Su? Should we go back?"
Su Wanwan and the proprietress exchanged a glance, then she carefully examined the road ahead and replied, "Auntie, if you're scared..."
Following the sound of crying, they came to a secluded grove of trees on the back of the mountain.
The crying grew closer. The proprietress glanced back at the dark road and swallowed hard. "Forget it," she said, "since we came here together, let's go back together."
As they drew closer, their cries grew louder and more heart-wrenching.
Su Wanwan picked up a long wooden stick from the side and used it to pick up the child's clothes from a distance of one or two meters away.
Under the flashlight beam, they both saw the faces of two babies at the same time, and the landlady was so frightened that she hurriedly shook Su Wanwan's hand: "Ahhhhh... Run! The little brats are coming!"
The sound was louder than a child's voice, and Su Wanwan's ears were about to explode!
A minute or two later, seeing that Su Wanwan was as steady as a mountain, she stopped shouting and asked, "Miss Su, what about you... aren't you scared?"
Su Wanwan looked at her calmly, her face full of helplessness: "Auntie, this is a live baby, not a stillborn baby. Let's hold them together."
The proprietress held Su Wanwan's hand, which was trembling.
When you get close to the children, the two babies look very thin, covered only by thin cloth.
Su Wanwan felt pity and was about to pick up the child when she suddenly noticed something unusual.
She sensed an eerie atmosphere permeating the surroundings, sending a chill down her spine.
Just then, a cool breeze swept by, rustling the leaves.
Suddenly, a dark figure swept past them.
Su Wanwan and the proprietress turned pale with fright and hugged each other tightly.
"What exactly happened?" the proprietress asked, trembling.
Su Wanwan took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.
"Don't scare yourself," Su Wanwan advised.
Upon closer inspection, she discovered that the two children looked exactly like the two children she had taken to the orphanage a few days earlier, and then said, "I know these children."
Upon hearing Su Wanwan's words, the proprietress immediately snatched the flashlight from Su Wanwan's hand and screamed, "Ahhhhh, a female ghost and a baby girl! Help! Help! Help!"
Su Wanwan: "..."
Suddenly it got even darker, and there was no sign of life in the jungle. Coupled with the crying of the two babies, the scene became even more eerie.
She never believed in ghosts, yet she could always hear the rustling of leaves in the wind and the faint sound of footsteps approaching.
"Who's there! Show yourself! If I find out you've been up to no good behind my back, I'll make sure you don't leave this place alive!"
Then, a dark shadow flashed by, and a tabby cat gradually appeared in front of Su Wanwan, meowing and even running over to rub against her.
The moonlight was bright, and Su Wanwan quickly adapted to her surroundings, vaguely able to see some outlines.
Without the flashlight, the number of fireflies around us increased.
It quickly illuminated the surrounding environment.
Upon closer inspection, one could see many wild orchids growing around, which, combined with the warm glow of fireflies, created a beautiful scene.
If you smell it carefully, you can smell a faint, pleasant fragrance.
The scene is very beautiful.
She picked up the two children and comforted them on the spot; the warmth seemed to make them feel safe.
The child stopped crying.
Su Wanwan thought that instead of going back and scaring the landlady, she might as well enjoy the beauty of nature here tonight. Anyway, it wasn't raining tonight, so she wasn't afraid of anything.
When she was little, her mother often went out to find her father, who liked to gamble, and she often forgot to bring her keys, so she often slept outdoors, especially in the countryside.
So he developed the ability to be fearless.
Even if she encounters a snake, a scorpion, or a poisonous widow, she can handle it with ease.
What's more, the scene tonight is so beautiful.
She can't miss this opportunity.
After an unknown amount of time, a group of people came over with flashlights, instantly scaring away the fireflies around her.
The proprietress's voice came from ahead: "It's just ahead, it's just ahead, we're almost there."
So annoying!
Disturbing her from enjoying the beautiful scenery.
As the crowd drew closer, Su Wanwan sat upright to the side, holding her child, trying to scare them.
I happened to be wearing a white dress tonight.
With her long hair flowing down her back, she emitted that chilling tremor.
What are you doing?
A group of people shone their flashlights on her instantly, the light from more than a dozen people focusing on her face, almost blinding her.
The light made her face turn pale, and half of the crowd immediately ran away in fright.
Leave some of the bolder ones behind.
Su Wanwan continued, "Don't shine the flashlight in my face!"
One by one, everyone turned off their flashlights. A young man asked, "Are you Su Wanwan?"
Su Wanwan continued her prank: "Yes~"
Why are you here?
"Because I died in childbirth."
"Isn't Mr. Jiang a wealthy man? Even he can't save you?"
"Because..."
I was originally going to say it was amniotic fluid thrombosis, to make her seem more pitiful, but then I thought better of it.
The next second, she said seriously, "Forget it, I won't tease you anymore, it's not fun."
When she got serious, she scared away a lot of people, and some even threw small stones at her head.
