Chapter 127 Reflection, Evidence Gathering, Dead Men Tell No Tales

Su Wanwan sat on the sofa, her brows furrowed, her face full of worry. She anxiously said to her aunt sitting next to her:

"Aunt, I feel very confused right now. It's like there are countless ants gnawing at me, and I'm quite agitated."

Her hands were unconsciously churning in front of her, her fingers intertwined, revealing her extreme inner turmoil.

Seeing Su Wanwan's appearance, her aunt felt a pang of worry and asked softly, "Do you like Shengjun?"

The voice was gentle, like a spring breeze, trying to soothe the anxiety in Su Wanwan's heart.

Su Wanwan bit her lip, lowered her head slightly, and spoke in a voice so soft that only she could hear it: "I do like you, but the situation is a bit complicated."

Her gaze wandered, as if she were recalling something.

The aunt sighed softly, knowing that Su Wanwan must be carrying many worries in her heart.

She shifted her body slightly, moving closer to Su Wanwan, and gently placed her hands on her shoulders, her tone remaining calm.

"Wanwan, you can't always take care of everyone in this life. You have to make sure you're doing well before you can think about how to take care of others. Don't put too much pressure on yourself; sometimes pressure can't be turned into motivation."

After listening to her aunt's words, Su Wanwan took a deep breath, as if she had mustered up her courage.

She raised her head, looked into her great-aunt's eyes, and recounted everything that had happened.

The aunt listened attentively, her gaze frequently falling on the two poor children.

After Su Wanwan finished speaking, her great-aunt stood up and walked to the children's side.

She bent down and lovingly touched the children's little faces, murmuring, "There are indeed many heartless people in this world who wouldn't even spare their own children. Poor little ones, we must treat them well from now on and never let them go back to that woman's side."

The aunt straightened up and returned to Su Wanwan's side, continuing, "Wanwan, friendships don't last, neither does love, and even family ties. From childhood to adulthood, the only person who has always been there for you is yourself. You must learn to love yourself properly."

Su Wanwan was silent for a while before slowly speaking: "I understand this principle, but people's hearts are fickle, and my impression of Ouyang Maomao is still stuck in the past. I always tell myself that these things are definitely not something she could do."

Her eyes were filled with pain and confusion.

The aunt sighed, feeling sorry for Su Wanwan: "Since you're so persistent and feel like you like hitting a brick wall, then hit it down. Perhaps only after experiencing heart-wrenching pain will you change."

Su Wanwan suddenly raised her head, her face full of confusion: "Isn't this too extreme?"

The aunt waved her hand and smiled kindly and calmly.

"I'm not asking you to do anything extreme. I just hope you can completely change yourself through this experience. As long as you don't have any intention to harm others, don't do anything illegal or against the law, don't think about suicide, and live a positive life, then it's okay to try and hit a wall. Even if you don't break down the wall, as long as you understand the lessons learned in the process, just stop immediately. Life is long, and you will eventually find your own direction."

As Su Wanwan listened to her aunt's words, her heart gradually calmed down.

She knew that her aunt was doing it for her own good.

She decided to let go of the past and bravely face the future.

"Understood, Auntie."

Su Wanwan wants to figure out one thing at a time: the choices in love, the breakdown of friendships, the uncertainty of dreams and the future, and the anxieties of the present.

The night was as dark as ink, and the moonlight shone faintly through the gaps in the curtains.

In the quiet of the night, Su Wanwan gripped her phone tightly and dialed Ouyang Maomao's number.

"Kitty, I can talk to you about this via video call the day after tomorrow. I'm off work the day after tomorrow."

Her voice trembled in the darkness, as if she were saying goodbye to a close friend.

Ouyang Maomao was silent for a moment on the other end of the phone. Her soft "hmm" sound was like the faintest star in the night sky, fleeting and gone in an instant.

Every time Su Wanwan dialed her number, her gaze would pierce through the darkness and fall upon the pair of twins who were just a month old.

Against the backdrop of the darkness, the urge to possess Ouyang Maomao surged into his heart like a tidal wave.

But when he thought about the reasons behind it, the impulse was deeply suppressed.

There was a deathly silence on the phone; no one wanted to break it.

Finally, Su Wanwan mustered her courage, her voice struggling in the darkness: "You've lost your baby, you must be very sad lately, right?"

Ouyang Maomao's response was a long sigh: "Alas, it's sad, but there's nothing that can be done. There's no turning back now."

After hanging up the phone, Su Wanwan's mood sank into endless darkness.

Once, their relationship was like a bright star, but now it has lost its way in the darkness.

She even regretted marrying Jiang Shengjun in the first place.

However, her aunt's words, like the North Star in the night sky, once again guided her.

She understood that only she herself could resolve her inner pain.

Su Wanwan moved to the cradle and gazed at the two children in the dim light.

Her hands trembled as she reached into the drawer and pulled out the hair that had been plucked out at the hospital.

If the child is found to be Fu Yan's, she will definitely take the child to find him.

After all, this is his child.

She didn't want Fu Yan to end up like Jiang Yingning, missing his child but being separated from them by distance.

Su Wanwan prayed silently in her heart.

The next day, she took the child and Fu Yan's DNA to the hospital for testing.
