Su Wanwan straightened her body and stared firmly at Ye Zhao at the door.
Her voice was cold and firm, as if it could pierce through Ye Zhao's soul: "Ye Zhao, stand there and don't move!"
Ye Zhao paused for a moment, but her eyes remained fierce.
Su Wanwan walked towards her step by step, each step filled with unwavering determination.
When she walked up to Ye Zhao, although she was not tall, she exuded a powerful aura.
She raised her head, her sharp gaze fixed on Ye Zhao, and said sternly, "Kneel down!"
Ye Zhao was slightly taken aback, but then a hint of disdain appeared on her face.
However, Su Wanwan did not back down; her voice became even more authoritative: "I'll make you kneel down!"
This time, a hint of hesitation flashed in Ye Zhao's eyes: "Why...why should I kneel!"
Ye Zhao's body trembled slightly. Seeing Su Wanwan's sharp expression, she slowly knelt down.
She gritted her teeth, clenched her fists, and her eyes flashed with a defiant fire. She straightened her body and stared intently at Su Wanwan, as if trying to pierce through her with her gaze.
She was unconvinced and asked again, "Why should I kneel!"
Su Wanwan looked at her expression. The other person was clearly like a child, not daring to act recklessly in front of adults. How could she have killed Fu Ning?
She sat in the chair, her back straight, her eyes sharply fixed on Ye Zhao, her voice calm and firm, yet carrying an undeniable authority.
"Ye Zhao, I hope you can answer my question honestly."
Ye Zhao stood opposite him, her eyes flickering and her lips pressed tightly together.
Su Wanwan continued, "Why did you kill Fu Ning? Why were you looking for me and the children?"
Ye Zhao frowned slightly, biting her lip as she tried to find a suitable answer.
Su Wanwan's gaze was like a sharp sword, piercing straight at Ye Zhao, leaving her no way to avoid it.
"I...I didn't. I didn't kill Fu Ning. I came to you for help." Ye Zhao's voice trembled slightly.
Su Wanwan interrupted her: "Don't try to fool me, I want to know the truth."
The atmosphere in the room was extremely tense, like a taut string that could snap at any moment.
Ye Zhao's breathing became rapid, and a hint of unease appeared in her eyes. Kneeling before Su Wanwan, she was at a loss for words.
"I really didn't kill Fu Ning! And I certainly didn't come looking for the children. I was chased here!"
Her voice and tone became anxious, her eyes darting around, and she reiterated, "I didn't kill Fu Ning, it's all a misunderstanding. I didn't come looking for the children, I came to ask you for help."
Her expression seemed sincere, but she couldn't hide her inner panic.
Jiang Shengjun crossed his arms, his brows furrowed, and his eyes filled with suspicion.
"Ye Zhao, do you think I'll believe you? Your actions have made it impossible for anyone to trust you." His voice was cold and firm.
Ye Zhao quickly explained, "Mr. Jiang, Sister Wanwan, you've really misunderstood me."
Jiang Shengjun sneered, "Your lie is too clumsy. Even a murderer would say he is not the murderer."
Su Wanwan stared at Ye Zhao, her eyes revealing doubt and caution.
Ye Zhao's flustered expression made her wary.
"You said you came to us for help, do you know who wants to harm you?" Su Wanwan's voice was calm but tinged with a hint of questioning.
Ye Zhao's body trembled slightly, her eyes filled with fear and unease.
“It was Ouyang Maomao. She said she wanted to get Fu Yan and that if I didn’t leave, I would die. Then Fu Yan chased after me all the way.”
“I remember last night I had a fight with Fu Ning. She forced me to leave Fu Yan. I said I wouldn’t leave. Then Ouyang Maomao showed up. She argued with Ouyang Maomao, saying she was a jerk, and then the two of them started fighting.”
Her voice trembled noticeably.
Su Wanwan stared intently at Ye Zhao, trying to find a clue in her expression.
Was Ye Zhao truly in danger, or was she fabricating a lie?
"And then?" Su Wanwan's tone became increasingly stern.
Ye Zhao bit her lip, seemingly struggling internally. She raised her head, her eyes filled with pain.
"Then...then I passed out. When I woke up the next day, my hands and clothes were covered in blood, and I was holding a dagger. When I got up, I saw Fu Ning dead behind me, his eyes wide open..."
Ye Zhao's eyes were filled with fear. "Just then, Fu Yan and Ouyang Maomao appeared. They said I killed Fu Ning."
Her breathing became more and more rapid: "I...I didn't kill her. Even though I used to hate her, I didn't kill her. It was Ouyang Maomao who killed her, not me, not me."
Su Wanwan stared at Ye Zhao, who was trying her best to explain as if she had gone mad.
Su Wanwan couldn't help but shout, "Calm down, Ye Zhao! Whether you killed him or not, we have to go to the police station and let the professionals investigate."
Ye Zhao said in a trembling voice, "The Fu family has already called the police."
Su Wanwan felt very strange and questioned, "How did you know we lived here?"
They had only moved here a short time ago, and even Jiang Shengjun didn't know where Su Wanwan lived. If Zhou Shan hadn't told Jiang Shengjun, he wouldn't have been able to find her either.
Zhou Shan and Su Wanwan had argued several times, so how could she know her address so well?
Ye Zhao quickly replied, "When I escaped from the Fu family, a mysterious person told me this, and this is the handwriting he wrote for me."
After she finished speaking, she unfolded the note in her hand.
Su Wanwan took it, but couldn't see anything amiss.
