Chapter 44 The Extreme Pull-Up of the Ambiguous Relationship Between Jiang Shengyun and Su Wanwan

Dinner was cooked by Jiang Shengjun, and Ouyang Maomao even helped Jiang Shengjun with the cooking despite Su Wanwan being at home.

"Dinner's ready, Wanwan."

After dinner was ready, Jiang Shengjun opened the door to Su Wanwan's bedroom and saw that Su Wanwan was sleeping peacefully on the small sofa.

Her gentle face was caressed by the setting sun.

Jiang Shengjun approached her and leaned down to gently kiss Su Wanwan.

"Get up, you lazybones."

His gentle, youthful voice softened the years and captivated Su Wanwan's life.

Su Wanwan was woken up by him, opened her eyes, and stretched languidly.

"Is dinner ready?" Su Wanwan asked.

Jiang Shengyun chuckled: "Mmm, your husband cooks for you, are you happy?"

Su Wanwan wanted to say she was happy, but she couldn't immerse herself in the tenderness and comfort of love.

Her peach blossom eyes were slightly lowered, and her fair, jade-like skin glowed brightly in the setting sun. Her gaze moved from Jiang Shengjun to the scene outside the window, and she simply said, "Boring."

She got up, straightened her clothes, and pulled back the air conditioning blanket covering her, asking only, "Is the cat still there?"

Jiang Shengjun hugged the petite Su Wanwan from behind, burying his chin in her collarbone. His tired, deep voice came through: "Wanwan, I thought you'd be fighting up there, but I didn't expect you to be sleeping so soundly. Aren't you jealous that the cat is cooking with me?"

Su Wanwan looked at him with a clear and bright expression. From her eyes, Jiang Shengjun saw a hint of determination. She said, "I don't know what's wrong with me lately. I'm a bit sleepy. Besides, Mr. Jiang, I only approached you for money. I don't play love games; I only play money games."

Jiang Shengjun frowned slightly, unable to see through Su Wanwan. He said, "One day, I will make you love me so much that you can't help yourself."

Su Wanwan turned away, straightened her clothes, tied her hair in a low ponytail, and walked down to the living room, saying as she went, "Okay, Mr. Jiang can give it a try."

He followed Su Wanwan's footsteps, pulled her back, and tried to kiss her forcefully.

Su Wanwan turned her head away. "Mr. Jiang, let's end things here. I'll pay you back four million first, and I'll pay you back the remaining one million after I earn it."

Jiang Shengjun couldn't stand her cold demeanor. His heart trembled, and he pinned her against the wall, fixing her hands to the surface. He said, "Su Wanwan, you wait."

Su Wanwan looked up at him, her expression alluring: "Okay, I'll be waiting."

He slowly released her slightly cold wrist, his fingertips gradually tracing from her wrist to her shoulder, before turning and leaving.

"Shengjun! Why are you still... Ah!"

Before Ouyang Maomao could finish speaking, she bumped into Jiang Shengjun as she walked from outside into the bedroom.

Su Wanwan was following behind Jiang Shengjun and happened to see this scene.

Ouyang Maomao reached out and smoothed her messy long curly hair. The earring on her ear was knocked off by her slightly pink fingertips and slid down her delicate collarbone.

Su Wanwan saw it, but pretended not to.

Jiang Shengjun also saw it, but he bypassed Ouyang Maomao and walked to the elevator door first.

"You saw the cat fall down and didn't you help it up? That's not gentlemanly at all."

Ouyang Maomao said, "It's okay, it's okay, it was my own carelessness."

As Jiang Shengjun entered the elevator, a cold gaze fell upon him, and he simply said, "Men and women should not touch each other."

Su Wanwan got up and pulled Maomao up as well. "You've been cooking together, and you still insist on keeping your distance between men and women? Haven't you two bumped into each other in the kitchen while you were cooking and passing things to each other?"

Jiang Shengjun's lips curled into a meaningful smile as he thought, "So, he's finally jealous?"

Ouyang Maomao hurriedly explained, "No, Wanwan, nothing happened between Shengjun and me. We've been cooking together since we were little, like brother and sister. Wanwan, don't overthink it."

Every time Ouyang Maomao, Jiang Shengjun, and herself are in the same space, Ouyang Maomao becomes awkward. Not only is she awkward, but she also occasionally sends out ambiguous signals.

Su Wanwan saw it all and kept it in mind.

If it weren't for her, Ouyang Maomao wouldn't be in such an awkward situation.

Looking at her best friend, Su Wanwan felt as if she could never find the carefree and unrestrained Ouyang Maomao of the past again.

"Wanwan, although Shengjun and I have cooked together, gone to school together, and eaten together since we were little, and can be considered childhood sweethearts, now that you are married to Shengjun, I will not disturb you."

Ouyang Maomao, holding Su Wanwan's hand, tearfully recounted her inner turmoil.

Su Wanwan listened without saying a word.

Jiang Shengjun retorted bluntly: "Ms. Ouyang, we did go to class and come home together frequently when we were young, but we didn't cook and eat together every day. It was only occasional."

Ouyang Maomao, pulling Su Wanwan along, looked up at Jiang Shengjun with the haughty air of a rich young lady: "It's obvious, okay? How can you be so forgetful? You four-eyed dog, nyah nyah nyah..."

Upon hearing the words "four-eyed dog," Jiang Shengjun looked at her with a "women are the hardest to raise" expression, and said, "You stinky cat! Don't think you didn't have a nickname when you were a kid!"

The three of them were in the elevator, and Su Wanwan was like the third party and the third wheel.

Su Wanwan knew that perhaps the reason he kept saying he loved her was just out of curiosity, and that he was just trying to get her to say she loved him because she kept saying she didn't.

Curiosity is not love.

The elevator doors opened just then, and Ouyang Maomao released Su Wanwan's hand, calling out to Jiang Shengjun triumphantly, "Four-eyed dog, four-eyed dog, four-eyed dog, nyah nyah nyah..."

Jiang Shengjun raised his hand with a smile, gritting his teeth: "You..."
