Chapter 52: With their mouths open and their tongues long enough to speak freely, the heartfelt conversations fueled the romance between the Jiangsu couple.

As the car drove into the suburbs, tall plane trees lined both sides of the road, their lush foliage casting dappled, dreamy light and shadow through the gaps in the leaves on a bright summer day.

Su Wanwan, with her hair tied in a side braid, sat to the side listening to music and humming along, looking quite happy.

Jiang Shengjun and Su Wanwan were chatting in the Mercedes-Benz when Jiang said to her with concern, "Wanwan, you don't need to hide yourself from me."

Jiang Shengjun was really afraid that Su Wanwan wasn't actually happy, but was just pretending to be.

Su Wanwan felt the warm summer breeze, raised her hand to smooth the strands of hair that had been blown by the wind, and said, "No, I'm fine now, and I'm happy to be with you."

She was dressed in a very French style today, and she looked elegant and graceful.

Jiang Shengjun looked at her, paying close attention to the expression on her face.

"Can you get through this? Actually, I've been wanting to tell you this for the past month: if you find it difficult to get through this, I can schedule an appointment for a psychologist to come to your home for treatment."

Su Wanwan turned to look at Jiang Shengjun, pursed her lips, and asked him, "Do you think I'd be pretentious?"

She almost cried as soon as she said it, her eyes glistening with barely visible tears.

She suddenly remembered her past experiences with Zhao Xunhuai. Back then, even if she shed a single tear in front of him, Zhao Xunhuai would scold her for being "pretentious and affected."

Therefore, when she was with Zhao Xunhuai, she always tried her best to control her emotions and rarely expressed them.

Upon hearing Su Wanwan's question, Jiang Shengjun immediately shook his head and replied without hesitation, "No."

These two words struck Su Wanwan hard. She repeated Jiang Shengjun's words, nodding and saying to herself, "No, oh no, it's fine."

On the surface, she showed no expression, but Su Wanwan was actually shocked inside.

Jiang Shengjun overanalyzed her expression, fearing she might overthink things, and sincerely explained.

"Actually, I think there are many times in life when we can't control our emotions. Why should we think that not being able to control our emotions necessarily means we're being dramatic? Actually, no. I think it's better to release them."

Su Wanwan rested her elbow on her thigh, propped her chin on her hand, looked up at Jiang Shengjun, and silently nodded in agreement.

He then raised another question: "But what if people laugh at me for being silly or like a child who can't control his emotions?"

Jiang Shengjun suddenly reached out and placed his hand on Su Wanwan's leg through her dress. His large hand seemed to hold her heart, which was hanging in suspense. He smiled and said to Su Wanwan, "I hope that in the future you can cry when you want to cry and laugh when you want to laugh in front of me. You can be a child in front of me."

The two looked at each other, their eyes filled with longing.

Seeing that he was the first to move away, Su Wanwan nodded in agreement with what he said. Jiang Shengjun, looking at her, kept repeating the words he had just achieved in terms of logical consistency: "Yes, yes, that's how it is."

They both looked out the window at the same time, and when they turned back, they looked at each other in unison.

Jiang Shengyun then elaborated on what he had just said: "Some people are afraid to cry, afraid to express their emotions too easily, which is actually because they are rather timid."

For example, when my grandfather passed away, my daily state was actually similar to yours, but I never showed it; I was working at a high intensity every day.

Jiang Shengyun was very patient with Su Wanwan, which made her feel very comfortable around him and allowed her to open up.

At this moment, Su Wanwan's eyes were filled with him, her expression completely fixed on him, her beautiful eyes seemingly filled with captivating affection.

With music playing in the car and the wind tousling her hair, she said earnestly to Jiang Shengjun, "I also hope that you can act like a child in front of me. If anything happens in the future, you can talk to me. I really enjoy communicating in the spiritual world; it gives me a sense of inner peace."

Jiang Shengjun seemed to be struck by it as well, and he felt that this communication was effective.

At this moment, the two of them were looking at each other through their eyes, appearing to be enjoying a peaceful moment, and both of them particularly wanted to have physical contact with each other.

Jiang Shengjun usually takes the initiative, but today he seemed a bit reserved.

Su Wanwan, who is usually reserved, gradually relaxed and told Jiang Shengjun about her feelings over the past month.

"Actually, I couldn't accept it at first. I thought about my parents' bloody corpses, and I..."

Su Wanwan burst into tears before she could finish speaking; she still felt that things had happened too suddenly.

Su Wanwan's slightly reddened eyes suddenly welled up with tears, and Jiang Shengjun immediately pulled out a tissue to wipe them away for her.

Trying to control her emotions, Su Wanwan continued, "And for the past month, you've been helping me with everything around me, taking such good care of me, and talking to me a lot every day, although..."

Su Wanwan hesitated, then burst into tears of joy, the tears she had just wiped away falling back down in large drops.

"Ah! I really want to cry..."

Jiang Shengjun patted her back: "It's okay. I said I wanted to. With you by my side, just be yourself."

With tears in her eyes, Su Wanwan looked at Jiang Shengjun and smiled, "Yes, thank you, Jiang Shengjun, thank you for your companionship all this time."

That night, something suddenly came to mind. When I was a child, a little boy told me that if I ever felt unhappy, I should look up at the magnolia flowers because he loved looking at them.

He told me that when I was unhappy, I would look at the magnolia blossoms, and he would use them to comfort me, as if two people from different times were gazing at each other through the magnolias.

At this point, Su Wanwan wiped away her tears with a tissue, composed herself, and said, "That evening, I saw you standing under the magnolia tree for a long time, looking up at the magnolias by the window, so I suddenly felt relieved."
