At the divorce processing office of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Jiang Shengjun and Su Wanwan sat quietly, waiting for their number to be called by the staff.
Their eyes met, and they could both see the sadness and helplessness in each other's eyes.
Jiang Shengjun's eyes were filled with pain and reluctance. He tried to smile, but his lips trembled slightly.
I don't know if this decision to divorce was the right one.
He recalled their past moments together, those beautiful memories seeming to still be vivid in his mind.
"I remember when we first got married, you kept thinking about running away. Maybe you were really afraid of losing Ouyang Maomao as a friend back then?"
Su Wanwan nodded, "I was indeed afraid of losing her before, because she has always been very good to me, which is obvious to everyone, but now..."
She looked at the withered magnolias outside the window, "But now, our relationship can never go back to the way it was."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Shengjun felt as if he were about to lose her.
Even though the two of them had agreed at home that this was just a fake divorce, he didn't know how he would face the future when they actually went to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get the divorce certificate. Without Su Wanwan, his life would become meaningless.
Su Wanwan was also in great pain.
She had imagined countless possibilities for Jiang Shengjun's fate after the divorce, and her eyes were filled with pain and helplessness at this moment.
She tried to remain calm, but tears welled up in her eyes.
She remembered their promises and vows, those beautiful dreams seeming to be turning into bubbles about to dissipate.
Jiang Shengjun held her hand and said it again and again: "Wanwan, you promised me that you would never leave me no matter what. We are just pretending to get a divorce certificate now. You can't leave me in the future. If you do, I will find ways to torment you."
Su Wanwan smiled faintly, "Don't worry, we're just going through the motions now."
The staff called their number, and Jiang Shengjun and Su Wanwan stood up and walked towards the processing window.
For some reason, even though they knew that getting the divorce certificate was just to better expose Ouyang Maomao later, both of them were walking heavily at this moment, as if each step required all their strength.
During the process, Jiang Shengjun and Su Wanwan did not say a word, but silently filled out the forms and signed the documents.
She signed the form without hesitation.
After completing the procedures, Jiang Shengjun and Su Wanwan walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
As a gentle breeze caressed his face, he told Su Wanwan, "This time, you need to act a little sad."
Su Wanwan said softly, "Mmm."
Jiang Shengjun nodded and said, "Wanwan, see you at the next intersection. We can't miss each other, okay?"
"Um."
Their voices were very low, as if they were afraid of breaking the silence of the moment.
As he stepped out the door, Jiang Shengjun instinctively reached out to hold Su Wanwan's hand, but ultimately let go.
Su Wanwan smiled and said to him, "Jiang Shengjun, hold my hand tightly at the next intersection."
Okay~
...
There were many media outlets watching outside the Civil Affairs Bureau.
They wanted to see if Jiang Shengyun and Su Wanwan were just talking nonsense today.
Su Wanwan and Jiang Shengjun saw this scene as they walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau and began to act as well.
She said, "I wish you happiness."
He said, "You too."
They both gave each other a forced smile.
Then, Jiang Shengjun turned and left, his back view appearing lonely.
Su Wanwan stood at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau, watching his retreating figure. Tears blurred her vision, but it was all an act.
At this point, the reporters swarmed in two groups, one heading towards him and the other towards her.
Just as the reporters rushed up to Su Wanwan, tears welled up in her eyes.
Her peach blossom eyes were filled with tears, sparkling like crystal gems.
Tears streamed down her cheeks, leaving streaks.
Reporters asked her, "Ms. Su, during your live streams, is Ouyang Maomao the top fan most of the time?"
She nodded silently: "Yes."
"I have a question. When you broke up with your first love, Ouyang Maomao took you to catch him cheating and even took a slap for you. Also, when your father was in debt, she gave you a lot of support. Are these facts true?"
She still acknowledged it: "It's true."
Then came the reporters' more pointed questions: "You know your best friend is so good to you, and netizens want to know what you're thinking. We also want to know if you have your own reasons."
Her lips trembled slightly, as if she wanted to say something, but she couldn't make a sound.
He leaned forward slightly, as if trying to suppress the pain in his heart.
As tears continued to flow, her peach blossom eyes gradually became red and swollen.
Her eyes were filled with confusion and helplessness, as if she had lost her way.
With a furrowed brow, he said, “My father had a lot of debts, so Mr. Jiang paid a dowry of five million to marry me to pay off his debts. At that time, my grandmother was urging him to get married, and I happened to be short of money, so we got married. The process was indeed pretty much as described in Ouyang Maomao’s book. Now I should return Jiang Shengjun to her.”
After saying that, she could no longer control her emotions and burst into tears.
Her cries were filled with despair and sorrow. She crouched down, curling up as if searching for a sliver of warmth and comfort.
She squatted there like a pitiful little deer, and even the reporters around her squatted down with her.
The interview began with: "You cry so much, you must want netizens to sympathize with you, right?"
