Chapter 56: Surrounded by gentle people, Su Wanwan breaks down in tears.

"You can cook local Shanghai cuisine?" Jiang Shengjun was incredulous when he saw the dishes on the table when he returned home at noon.

Su Wanwan was wearing an apron, and her high ponytail didn't give her the air of a virtuous wife and loving mother; instead, it exuded a youthful vibe.

Her face was beaming with smiles: "Yes, Mr. Jiang, it's been a long time since you've had any authentic Kyoto cuisine, hasn't it? My mother taught me how to make it when I was a child."

Yang Ma also praised Su Wanwan to Jiang Shengjun, saying, "The young mistress's local cuisine is very good; her skills are comparable to those of a head chef."

Jiang Shengyun took off his suit jacket and naturally handed it to the servant to hang up. He was very happy to receive Yang Ma's praise.

As long as Yang Ma approves of Su Wanwan, then Grandma will be happy too.

During dinner, Jiang Shengjun leaned close to Su Wanwan's ear and said, "Actually, Aunt Yang rarely praises people. You are the one she praised the most."

Su Wanwan put some food on his plate: "Just eat your food. Don't you usually not like to talk while you're eating?"

I had a heart-to-heart talk with Jiang Shengjun before, and he said that he doesn't like to talk while eating. His grandmother had told him since he was a child that it was impolite for people to talk while eating.

She always remembered every word Jiang Shengjun had said.

Jiang Shengjun took the food he picked up and ate it without hesitation, only to get burned.

Su Wanwan quickly got up to get her some water, and the servant beside her brought it over very quickly.

"Can't you eat slower?" Su Wanwan grumbled.

Jiang Shengjun blushed, wiped his mouth with a tissue, and said in a gentle and easygoing manner, "It's nothing, it's not a big problem."

When Su Wanwan saw him, she thought he was so cute. He seemed so innocent and naive, like a teenager who had just fallen in love.

But when Su Wanwan thought about Ah Q saying that this was his first time falling in love, she instantly became very happy.

She leaned close to Jiang Shengjun's ear and said, "Thank you for loving me so much, Mr. Jiang."

Jiang Shengjun felt an instant jolt in his heart. Su Wanwan's words kept echoing in his ears, more beautiful than any piece of music in the world.

He said to Su Wanwan, "Do you know why I used to dislike talking while eating, but now I do?"

Su Wanwan shook her head in confusion: "Isn't it because of my childhood education and habits? Grandma said it's impolite to talk while eating. Is there any other reason? I'd like to hear more."

Jiang Shengjun looked at her earnestly and said, "Because before, I couldn't find anyone to talk to when we ate together, but now I have."

Su Wanwan's eyes lit up when she heard this. She covered her mouth and chuckled, then looked at Jiang Shengjun generously and said, "Wow, you're so good at flirting. You know, when I heard that, I felt like I was being electrocuted all over."

Jiang Shengyun directly put some food into his bowl and said bluntly, "I understand how you feel, because I got electrocuted before you did."

"Hmm? What do you mean?" Su Wanwan raised her eyebrows.

Jiang Shengjun quickly chimed in, "It was when you leaned close to me just now and said, 'Thank you for loving me so much,' that I felt a jolt of electricity too."

Su Wanwan smiled, her heart filled with joy. He calmly said to Su Wanwan, "I feel that Grandma will definitely like you very much."

"Really? That would be wonderful if I could win Grandma's favor."

Su Wanwan was also very happy.

And just like that, an ordinary lunch became lively and interesting.

In the afternoon, Jiang Shengjun went back to work. Su Wanwan invited Ouyang Maomao out for afternoon tea, hoping to have a good talk with her.

First, she expressed her feelings for Jiang Shengyun; second, she expressed her desire to continue being best friends with her and not have a falling out with her.

This might be difficult.

She didn't know what to say.

If it were Ouyang Maomao who told her that she liked Jiang Shengyun and hoped that she would keep her distance from Jiang Shengyun in the future, she would definitely be very sad.

Before leaving the Jiang family villa, Su Wanwan sat in the living room feeling uneasy, wanting to make an appointment but not wanting to, wanting to talk but not wanting to.

Aunt Yang seemed to sense her troubled mood and asked Su Wanwan, "Did something happen? The young mistress looks worried. She was fine at noon."

Su Wanwan said to Yang Ma in a panic, "I think I'm having another psychological problem."

Yang's mother sat down and had a heart-to-heart talk with her, "Are you missing your family again?"

Su Wanwan shook her head: "No, it's about me and Ouyang Maomao. She's my best friend and she's very good to me. I know she and Jiang Shengjun have been childhood sweethearts, and I know Maomao likes him a lot, but..."

She cried again.

For her, tears seem to come in bulk.

“I’m sorry, Aunt Yang, I don’t want to cry, but I feel really sad just thinking about how upset Maomao looks. But I’m going to see her later, and I definitely can’t cry in front of her. If I cry in front of her because I’m not feeling well, she’ll definitely think I’m a green tea bitch. I’m the one who stole the person she likes, and I’m crying like a victim in front of her.”

Aunt Yang patted her back to comfort her: "Young Madam, don't think so much. I've noticed that women are always very empathetic, always afraid of ruining relationships, always afraid of what others will say about us. You need to learn to break free from this mindset and seriously think about what you really want. Only then can you make choices that meet your expectations. If both are important to you right now, think about the future, think long-term."

Su Wanwan wiped her nose and then asked Yang Ma, "But I still find it difficult."

Like a mother, Yang's mother gently stroked her and said, "Child, if you think about who will stay with you the longest in the future, then choose that person."
