Chapter 100 Jiang Yan (2/2)

She asked softly, "Sister Xiaoxue, where are you going later? I...I'll go with you?"

Lin Jianxue took a bite of the steamed bun, and the rough texture scraped across her throat.

She shook her head, a faint smile on her lips: "Children can't go to that place."

Fu Qingqing blinked her clear eyes, her face puffed up slightly, and she asked childishly, "Are there any places where children can't go?"

Lin Jianxue smiled and said, "Yes."

She quickly finished two steamed buns and ate up all the radish strips in the enamel jar.

Then, she swiftly took out a dark blue headscarf from the bag at the head of the bed and tied her long, smooth, black hair into a neat ponytail at the back of her head.

He put on a thin coat that was dusty but clean.

She said to Fu Qingqing, who was still curled up in the quilt, with only her little head sticking out to look at her: "I'm going out. It's still early, you should sleep a little longer."

Fu Qingqing nodded obediently and whispered, "Goodbye, Sister Xiaoxue."

Lin Jianxue gently closed the dormitory door.

She carried the washed-out canvas bag on her back and walked out of the courtyard of the educated youth dormitory at a moderate pace.

I just arrived under the eaves of the lobby of the educated youth center and was about to go to the village entrance.

Liu Liwen, Wang Hongxia and Zhang Cuicui, who were squatting in the corner, basking in the not-so-warm morning light and chatting, raised their heads almost at the same time.

Their gazes, like three invisible searchlights, all fell on Lin Jianxue's back.

Watching Lin Jianxue walking farther and farther away, her figure disappeared around the corner of the courtyard gate.

Liu Liwen, Wang Hongxia and Zhang Cuicui exchanged a knowing look.

Lin Jianxue had a clear destination for this trip.

It’s not for anything else, just to find Jiang Yan.

She had seen the name Jiang Yan on TV before she died in her previous life.

It was the spring of 1996. She was lying on a hospital bed in a sanatorium in the suburbs of Kyoto. Complications from AIDS had left her emaciated and breathing more out than in.

The old black and white TV in the ward occasionally broadcasts some news.

That day, a piece of social news was being broadcast on TV - the leader of a certain underworld organization and his main deputy were executed.

The camera gave a brief close-up of one of the deputies.

Even in such a miserable state, the man in the photo still had facial features that were much more handsome than those of ordinary people.

A pair of eyes, dark and deep, like a bottomless cold pool.

There was a faint curve at the corner of his mouth, with a bit of rebelliousness and ruffian spirit, and he looked at the camera coldly, even provocatively.

It seemed as if all the rules in this world were meaningless in his eyes.

A small text appeared at the bottom of the TV screen: Jiang Yan, 28 years old, prison photo.

Lin Jianxue's impression of Jiang Yan was not limited to that fleeting glimpse of the TV screen.

Not long after that, she came across an old newspaper.

The newspapers contained more detailed follow-up reports on the sensational destruction of the underworld organization.

One of the articles describes Jiang Yan's life.

The report said that Jiang Yanyu was eventually arrested because he chose to stay alone and bought precious time for his gang boss to escape.

In his own words, it was to repay the other party's "kindness".

He used his life to practice a certain twisted "righteousness".

Lin Jianxue felt quite awkward after reading it.

A desperado with blood on his hands would actually sacrifice his life for the word "gratitude".

He is indeed a man of some sense of justice.

It was for this reason that when Lin Jianxue needed some "special" help, the first person she thought of was Jiang Yan, who was still a nobody in 1976 but had already made a name for himself.
