Chapter 108 Su Muyun's Visit [Add Words] (1/2)

Fu Zhewei folded the last quilt with quick and decisive movements.

His hands were slender and clean, yet they were extremely strong. He stuffed the thick cotton wool into the suitcase in just a few seconds, and then shook out the clothes that Lin Jianxue had hung on the wall, folded them neatly, and put them into the suitcase without missing a single piece.

He lowered his head and packed his things without saying a word. He only occasionally looked up at her and then quickly looked away.

The room was quiet, with only the intermittent noise from the educated youth's yard outside the window and the small sounds made by Zhou Mei as she carefully helped pack.

Lin Jianxue was also busy. She gathered up the scattered small items on the table - an enamel pot, a fountain pen, and a diary with a worn cover. She wiped the dust off them carefully and handed them to Fu Zhawei to pack.

Everything was in perfect order, there were no unnecessary words and no dragging emotions, as if it was just an ordinary move.

With the combined efforts of the three, the small room was empty in less than half an hour, leaving only a single bed and the clothesline standing alone.

Everything returned to its original appearance, just like when Lin Jianxue first arrived - two suitcases, a load of luggage, ready to leave at any time, without any worries at all.

Fu Zhewei stood up, picked up the two suitcases, was silent for a moment, looked at Lin Jianxue and said, "Okay."

The sentence was simple and without any emotion, but his knuckles were slightly trembling, and it was obvious that he had used up all his strength, but he refused to let others intervene and share even a little bit of the power.

Zhou Mei leaned against the door frame, looking at the empty room, feeling a little lost: "Oh... I don't know what's going on, I actually feel a little reluctant to leave you."

Lin Jianxue smiled, her smile gentle and soft. "What are you reluctant to leave? The Fu family isn't far from here. If you want to visit me, just take me over. I won't need this room now. Someone else will definitely move in. If you like, you can stay here. It's better to live alone than to squeeze in with so many people, right?"

Zhou Mei was stunned for a second, her eyes sparkling. "Really? Should I move in right now?"

"Of course." Lin Jianxue patted her shoulder. "Bring your own bedding over here later. This way you can sleep more peacefully at night."

Zhou Mei immediately grinned and nodded vigorously: "Okay! I'll move it later!"

Lin Jianxue waved her hand and said, "Let's go first. Call me if you need anything."

"Okay!" Zhou Mei made a gentle gesture towards her, then secretly glanced at Fu Zhewei and added in a low voice, "Xiaoxue, you are really amazing..."

Lin Jianxue was at a loss for words and didn't bother to explain anything. She strode out of the door.

Fu Zhawei followed closely behind, carrying two large suitcases. He was tall and straight, casting a long shadow under the sunlight, attracting the glances of the educated youth in the yard.

As they passed by the dormitory lobby, the crowd suddenly erupted in discussion:

"Tsk tsk, she's so brave, moving without hesitation, and even asking men to help carry the luggage..."

"Who says she isn't? A young lady is a young lady, she's really capable!"

"Who is that boy? Why haven't I noticed him before?"

One girl lowered her voice and said sourly, "I heard that she's a high school classmate from the city, and they already hooked up a long time ago..."

Lin Jianxue remained calm, ignoring everything that was said. She didn't even raise her eyebrows, let alone glance up.

She had long been accustomed to the gossips of others, and she also knew that in her entire life, she didn't need to suffer even a little for any insignificant person.

Just after leaving the courtyard gate and before he had gone far, Fu Zhawei suddenly switched hands to carry the suitcases. The two old suitcases seemed quite heavy, but his expression remained normal, only a thin layer of sweat was oozing from his forehead.

Lin Jianxue couldn't help but ask: "What? Do you want me to help you carry one?"

Fu Zhawei glanced at her sideways and said in a low, muffled voice, "No."

He paused, then added, "You also carried these two suitcases here, and you carried them the entire way. How could I be worse than you?"

Lin Jianxue was stunned, then burst out laughing:

"Fu Zhewei, are you trying to show off or compete with me? You're so childish."

Fu Zhewei's face was stern, but the tips of his ears were red. He pursed his lips and said, "Anyway... I can carry it."
