Chapter 115 New Furniture (2/2)

Next to the father and son was an old wooden cart, on which were several brand new pieces of wooden furniture tied tightly with thick hemp ropes.

In the dim light under the eaves, you can vaguely see two beds, one big and one small, a square wooden table, a few chairs, and two familiar small stools.

Wang Defu had an embarrassed smile on his dark face and scratched the back of his head:

"I'm so sorry I delivered it a little late. My dad had a lot of work to do today, so he was delayed."

Fu Zhawei's dark eyes swept over the furniture, and then he nodded lightly to Wang Defu:

"No."

After saying that, he stepped forward silently, lent a hand, and helped Carpenter Wang and his son push the cart into the yard, and then began to unload the goods.

Fu Qingqing had forgotten about the pain in her legs and waist at this moment, and curiosity overcame everything.

She poked her little head out from behind Lin Jianxue, and when she saw the brand new objects on the cart, her almond-shaped eyes suddenly widened and her little mouth opened into an "O" shape in surprise.

Oh my goodness!

Sister Xiaoxue, did you... buy so many things?

Carpenter Wang and his son Wang Defu were both honest people and worked efficiently. After a short while, they moved the two beds, wooden tables and chairs into the yard one by one, and placed them against the wall temporarily according to Fu Zhawei's instructions.

The yard is not big to begin with, and once these big things came in, it suddenly seemed a bit crowded.

Wang Defu wiped the sweat from his forehead and walked in front of Lin Jianxue with a simple smile on his face:

"Lin Zhiqing, these furniture have been delivered to you. Please check them."

"As for the two wardrobes and desk you ordered, the materials are still being prepared. I estimate they will be ready for you next month, and I will personally deliver them to you then."

Lin Jianxue nodded slightly, her clear eyes swept over the brand new furniture, and her tone was gentle:

"Thank you, Master Wang, Brother Defu."

As she spoke, she took money out of her pocket to pay the balance.

Carpenter Wang quickly waved his hand: "Don't worry, don't worry, wait until the wardrobe and desk are delivered and then we can finish it together."

Lin Jianxue did not force it. She thanked him and sent Carpenter Wang and his son out of the yard.

In the yard, Fu Qingqing was still circling around the pile of furniture, touching the bed and looking at the table, her eyes full of curiosity.

Lin Jianxue came back, his eyes fell on Fu Qingqing, and a gentle smile appeared on his lips.

She pointed to the small single bed and asked softly:

"Qingqing, this little bed is for you. How about it? Do you like it?"

Fu Qingqing turned her head abruptly, her eyes widening, and with a hint of disbelief, she pointed at the bed and then at herself:

"For... for me?"

Her voice was trembling.

Lin Jianxue nodded with a smile, her tone gentle:

"right."

"I think the bed you're sleeping on now... isn't very sturdy."

"It just so happens that I also need to buy furniture, so I bought one for you as well. It's just a single bed, so don't mind."

It's more than just not very strong.

The bed that Fu Qingqing was sleeping on now was just a few crooked wooden sticks put together. It creaked every time she turned over on it, as if it would fall apart at any time.

It was when she was just sent down to the countryside that Fu Jianguo hurriedly nailed it for her using scrap wood he found. He was happy that it could shelter her from the wind and rain and provide a place to sleep, so he didn't care whether it was comfortable or sturdy.

Fu Qingqing's eyes suddenly turned red.

She sniffed and asked cautiously with a thick nasal tone:

"Sister Xiaoxue...this...this bed, will it cost a lot of money?"

"Sister Xiaoxue, I'm sorry to have cost you money again..."

She knew the family situation and how good Lin Jianxue was to them. But a brand new wooden bed like this was obviously not cheap.

Lin Jianxue reached out and rubbed her hair lovingly, her tone as relaxed as if she was talking about a trivial matter:

"Silly girl, what are you thinking about?"

"This small wooden bed was just an extra addition that the carpenter gave me when I bought the big bed."

"It doesn't cost anything."

Fu Qingqing couldn't say a word, but suddenly threw herself into Lin Jianxue's arms and hugged her tightly.

Lin Jianxue was slightly shaken by her collision, but she stood steadily and raised her hand to gently touch her head.

"Okay, okay," she said with a smile, a hint of helpless indulgence in her voice, "stop acting like a spoiled child, your snot and tears are all over me."

Fu Qingqing reluctantly let go of his hand and wiped her face with her sleeve. Her eyes were still red, but a bright smile had already blossomed on her face.

"Let's move the bed in together." Lin Jianxue continued, "and change your bed tomorrow."

"Yeah!" Fu Qingqing nodded vigorously.

At this moment, the kitchen door curtain was lifted, and Dong Yulan came out with the washed dishes.

As soon as she walked to the porch, she saw the tables and chairs piled up in the yard and the two brand new beds, and she couldn't help but be stunned.

Her eyes lingered on the furniture for a moment, then turned to her son Fu Zhewei standing beside her, with a questioning look in her eyes.

Fu Zhewei noticed his mother's gaze, stretched out his long legs and ran over, his voice low and calm:

"Mom, this is the furniture I ordered from Carpenter Wang the other morning with Jianxue. It's just been delivered."

Dong Yulan moved her lips as if she wanted to say something.

She took a look at the brand new furniture, then at her son's calm face, and finally swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue, and just said "hmm" softly.

Fu Zhawei didn't say anything more. He turned around and helped Fu Qingqing move the rickety old bed out with Lin Jianxue.

Then, the two of them worked together to move the brand new single bed into Fu Qingqing's small room.

The room was already small, and it seemed more spacious after the old bed was moved. Once the new bed was put in, the whole room seemed a lot brighter and it suddenly looked presentable.

Fu Qingqing was so happy that she sat down on the new bed and rolled around excitedly.

The bed board made a slight creaking sound, but it was much more stable than the previous bed that seemed to be about to fall apart at any time.

"Wow! It's so comfortable! Sister Xiaoxue, I love this bed so much!" She lay on her back on the bed, smiling foolishly at the ceiling.

Fu Zhawei looked at his sister's overjoyed expression, turned his head and looked at Lin Jianxue: "Let me help you move the bed in."

He was referring to the double bed.

Lin Jianxue shook her head, her clear eyes fell on the double bed in the yard, and she said softly:

"I'll give my bed to Aunt Dong."

"The bed in my old room is enough."

The Fu family gave her the largest east wing of the house. She did have a bed in her room originally. Although it was a bit old, it was still quite sturdy.

In order to make her live comfortably, Dong Yulan and Fu Qingqing squeezed into the small room in the west wing for the past two days.

Although Dong Yulan didn't say anything about the two of them being able to squeeze together and wanted to give the big bed in the east wing to her "guest", what could Lin Jianxue do but really let the mother and daughter sleep on that simple little bed.

Tian specially bought an extra double bed, intending to give it to Dong Yulan.

Fu Zhawei was slightly stunned when he heard this.

His dark eyes looked at Lin Jianxue, as if he wanted to see something from her face, but he only saw calmness and gentleness.

He was silent for a few seconds: "Then I'll talk to my mother."
