Chapter 70 Date (2/2)

At just one glance, Lin Jianxue's heart skipped a beat, and the corners of her mouth rose slightly uncontrollably, a smile that she herself didn't even notice.

Fu Zhewei!

She almost trotted over, her voice tinged with joy: "Fu Zhewei!"

The people under the tree turned their heads when they heard the sound.

The morning light was just beginning to break, and the soft light outlined his clear and distinct jawline.

It was an extremely handsome and fair face, with deep features, a high nose bridge, and thin lips tightly pursed.

Especially those eyes, when quiet, they are like two bottomless cold pools, deep, quiet, and with a coldness that keeps people away, but they are also incredibly beautiful, making people want to get closer and explore the temperature beneath the coldness.

Lin Jianxue's heart skipped a beat.

Since her rebirth, her mood has not been very good.

Even though she successfully got rid of Jiang Yuqi and sent Jiang Yuqi and Jiang Yuning to the Public Security Bureau, she only felt relieved for a moment.

Until I came to this remote Heilongjiang Province and found him.

Only after going to the countryside and finding Fu Zhewei did her mood truly improve.

These past few days at work, my body felt exhausted, but whenever I thought of him, or just like now, when I could actually see him standing in front of me, all that fatigue and anxiety seemed to be instantly soothed away.

Just like now, at this moment, standing in the dim light of the early morning, looking at his face turning around, her mood was really good, very, very good.

"Have you been waiting for a long time?" Lin Jianxue ran to him, breathing slightly, her cheeks slightly flushed from running, and asked with a bright smile.

Fu Zhewei's gaze lingered on her smiling face for a moment, then quickly moved away: "No, I just arrived."

He lied.

He had actually been waiting here for a while, since before daybreak until now.

"That's good." Lin Jianxue breathed a sigh of relief, the smile in the corner of his eyes deepened a little, "Then let's go."

"Yeah." Fu Zhawei responded and took the lead in taking a step forward.

The two walked side by side towards the town.

Today was the weekend, a rare day off for the educated youth. Members of the nearby commune were also going to the market, so the town was much busier than usual. Even before entering the town, the bustling sounds of people could be heard from afar.

Arriving at the town center, the entrance to the supply and marketing cooperative was packed with people. The crowd formed a long queue that stretched as far as the eye could see. All kinds of noisy sounds merged together, creating a buzzing sound.

Lin Jianxue frowned slightly as she looked at the scene. She had a lot of things to buy, and just queuing would probably take up most of the day.

She turned to look at Fu Zhewei beside her. He seemed to be completely unconcerned about the crowded scene in front of him, his expression still indifferent and calm.

Lin Jianxue's heart moved, and she asked, "Fu Zhewei, have you had breakfast?"

Fu Zhawei glanced at her sideways and said nothing, which was considered as his agreement.

"I haven't eaten yet," Lin Jianxue touched her somewhat empty stomach with a pitiful expression on her face, "I'm so hungry after walking such a long way. How about... let's go eat something first?"

She paused and added, "It's my treat! Just consider it a thank you for helping me pull weeds these past few days."

When Fu Zhawei heard this, his deep eyes paused on her face for a few seconds.

After a few seconds, he nodded slightly and uttered one word: "Okay."

The two quickly found a nearby shop with a sign that said "State-owned Noodle Restaurant."

The store is not big, but the room is quite clean. There are already quite a few people sitting inside, and the air is filled with the rich aroma of broth.

Lin Jianxue didn't hesitate and found a seat by the window. She simply said to the waiter who came to take the order: "Two bowls of braised beef noodles, big bowls, and two side dishes, one mixed cucumber and one uncooked rice."

After ordering, she looked at her father-in-law, asking with a questioning look, "Is it okay?"

Fu Zhewei had no objection and just said, "That's enough."

Having gotten up early and walked quite a distance, Lin Jianxue was truly hungry. As soon as the noodles arrived, she picked up her chopsticks and began to eat.

Fu Zhawei glanced at her before picking up the chopsticks. He ate slowly and politely, his good upbringing ingrained in him.

The food portions in the Northern Province are indeed generous, especially around the farm where the physical exertion is high.

Although Lin Jianxue was hungry, her appetite was limited after all.

She concentrated on eating for a while, then gradually slowed down, and finally couldn't help but burp a little.

She put down her chopsticks and looked at the half bowl of noodles left in the bowl with an embarrassed look on her face.

It is shameful to waste food in this era, but she really couldn't fit it in.

Just as she was struggling, a low voice came from the other side.

"Can't eat anymore?"

Lin Jianxue raised her head and met Fu Zhewei's gaze, and nodded a little embarrassedly: "Hmm... a little full."

As soon as she finished speaking, she saw Fu Zhawei reach out his hand and naturally take the bowl in front of her which still had a lot of noodles left.

Then, under Lin Jianxue's surprised gaze, he picked up the chopsticks she had just used, picked up the noodles in the bowl, lowered his head and started eating.

Lin Jianxue: “…”

She widened her eyes slightly and watched him eat the rest of his noodles calmly.

As if he noticed her gaze, Fu Zhawei took a mouthful of noodles, raised his eyes and met her eyes full of surprise.

He paused for a moment, as if realizing something was wrong.

He swallowed the noodles, his thin lips moving slightly: "At home...I help Qingqing finish what she can't finish."
