The man with the bird-beak glanced behind him in horror.
Seeing that Fran was about to catch him, his heart jumped into his throat.
He gritted his teeth and sped up his escape.
A manhole cover appeared in the road ahead, and the face under the bird-beak mask immediately lit up with joy.
He lunged at the manhole cover, quickly opened it, and fell right in.
"Damn, is it really that serious?!"
Seeing that the other party had actually crawled into the sewer to escape, Fran's lips twitched and he followed suit.
He flew into the sewer, stepped on the air intake, and carefully observed his surroundings.
But there was no one inside, and not even a trace of blood on the ground.
Fran hissed and flew around again to examine the surroundings carefully.
But still, no one was seen.
"Did they escape through a secret passage?"
Fran scratched his head, thinking that this was the only possibility.
"Oh well, I don't have any major grudges against them anyway, so I'll just let them go."
He shrugged, decided to stop looking, and flew out of the sewer using the sword energy.
Before leaving, they put the manhole cover back on.
Inside a secret passage beneath the water in the sewer.
The man with the bird-beak heard the sound of the manhole cover closing, and his tense heart finally relaxed.
He suddenly opened his nose and mouth, which had been holding his breath, and inhaled the surrounding air in large gulps.
The air, which was normally quite smelly, suddenly tasted incredibly sweet.
He slumped weakly against the wall of the secret passage and sat down.
He used a scalpel to tear open his clothes to check his injuries.
"Why do you look so disheveled..."
A hoarse voice came from the darkness of the secret passage.
The sound was like the last sigh of a dying person before death.
The man with the bird-beak shuddered upon hearing the sound, his previously relaxed heart leaping into his throat once more.
Despite the pain in his abdomen, he struggled to his feet and bowed his head respectfully.
"I'm sorry, boss..."
As he apologized, a figure resembling a zombie slowly emerged from the shadows in front of him.
The man was hunched over, his body covered in stitches.
His skin was patchy, with some parts smooth and others dry and shriveled, making him look as if he were stitched together from different pieces of flesh.
"Why apologize? We're both going to die anyway, why don't you just yell at me a couple of times..."
The man walked up to the bird-beaked man with a half-smile and gently placed his hand on his head.
The man with the bird-beak seemed to have been electrocuted; his body trembled and he collapsed to his knees with a thud, dropping the scalpel he had been holding.
"Boss, please! Give me another chance, please!"
I, I, I will definitely do my best and complete the task you gave me!
As he spoke, the man with the bird-beak kept kowtowing.
The masked face kept colliding with the cement ground, and traces of blood seeped from the mask's surface.
But the boss he was talking about showed no sympathy whatsoever, looking at him as if he were an animal.
"Complete my tasks properly? But none of the tasks I assigned you have been completed..."
Tell me, what use are you to me...?
As he spoke, wisps of black energy, resembling locusts, enveloped his right hand and gradually reached towards the bird-beaked man.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."
The man with the bird-beak knelt on the ground, his head pressed against the ground, trembling so much that he couldn't lift it.
Just as the black hand was about to touch the bird-beaked man, it suddenly stopped.
Then, his gloomy eyes widened slightly, and he picked up the scalpel that the bird-beaked man had just dropped.
"This... how did you do this...?"
He placed the scalpel in front of him, wiped off the bloodstains with his fingers, and stained his fingers with the blood, then examined it carefully.
Then, he licked the blood away with his tongue, and his eyes, which had been like those of a dead man, suddenly began to tremble.
"Haha...haha! That's right, that's right, it's Him!"
Tell me quickly, where did you get this?
He grinned, laughed excitedly, and grabbed the crow man by the neck, lifting him up.
His eyes were filled with madness and excitement.
The crow-man was choked and was panting, but he still managed to recount the events in detail.
He released the man with the bird-beak, covered his face with his hands, and laughed.
"Hahaha—! I never expected this, I never expected this!"
More than a decade has passed, and I was the one who found it first!
Life! Let's return to our embrace once more!
Haha! Haha, hahaha—!
Maniacal laughter echoed incessantly through the sewers.
On the film set.
Hera parked the car in a parking lot around the film set.
After showing his ID to the security guard, he entered the film set.
As soon as Yamada entered the film set, he noticed Hera, who was calmly eating his boxed lunch.
He forced a smile onto his originally gloomy face and waved to Hera.
"Hi! Miss Hera."
Hera noticed the other person and walked over to her side.
Yamada enthusiastically brought out a small stool for Hera to sit on, and then awkwardly sat down himself.
"Hey, didn't Aikalen come?"
She looked around Hera and found that Aikaren was not there.
"He's not filming."
Hera didn't want to reveal the news of Ekaren's disappearance to anyone, so she gave Yamada a perfunctory answer.
Yamada was a little surprised when he heard this.
"Hey, isn't he your boyfriend? You're here filming, doesn't he take care of you at all?"
"He's not, he's just a friend."
