Chapter 239 Destroying the Shield

The car sped along, and Hera's appearance slowly returned to normal.

"This is going to be difficult. If they report this to the [Godslayer] team, we'll be in big trouble."

Thoth adjusted his slightly crooked glasses and looked back through the window.

Upon returning to the original location, the strange girl had vanished.

"Spatial magic!"

That familiar voice came from around them again.

Hera sat in the car and felt the car suddenly lighten as the buildings that had been rushing past her came to a stop.

The sound of the wind whistling past the car disappeared, replaced by the sound of wheels spinning in the air.

The entire car seemed to float up as if it had lost gravity.

"Ho ho ho!"

Praise be to the god of magic!

Praise be to Merlin!

The two looked in the direction of the sound and saw that the hunched-over autistic girl had appeared on the roadside near them at some point.

A pair of lifeless eyes stared straight at them, looking somewhat sinister and terrifying.

"Come with us honestly! We're not bad people."

The voice clearly noticed that Thoth and Hera had slightly furrowed their brows and spoke up.

Then, the car drifted toward the autistic girl, and Hera released the accelerator.

The car was brought to a smooth stop in the parking area, and the doors opened automatically.

The two men helped Will out of the car.

Thoth frantically searched his mind for information about superpowers, trying to figure out what kind of superpower the other person possessed.

The strange voice sounded like someone else, possibly a "soul stealer," yet that strange voice also spoke of magic.

There doesn't seem to be any magical superpower in the world right now.

Even when the three of them reached the autistic girl, Thoth still couldn't determine what kind of superpower she possessed.

But he was certain that the girl in front of him was the cause of the strange sound.

When the girl saw the three approaching, she lowered her head and started picking at her hands again.

"Don't be afraid, you three. We just suspected you might be superhumans, so we didn't check you."

The voice came from beside the girl.

A girl appeared out of thin air, her hand touching her chin, holding an ancient magic wand, and wearing a magic hat.

Thoth's pupils contracted slightly. Seeing that Will and Hera seemed to be able to see the girl, he immediately ruled out the possibility that the autistic girl might have the [Soul Stealing] ability.

But soon, he had a sudden realization.

Since the other party can use magic, it seems that it's not impossible to become invisible using magic.

However, Thoth had no recollection of any magical abilities.

Hera, however, sensed that the girl had no life force.

This feeling was similar to the aura emanating from the monster friends that Ekalen released using her abilities.

It is neither a different species, nor a human, nor a living organism.

The girl with the magic wand carefully examined Hera and clicked her tongue a few times.

"He looked quite good, yet he did something like driving without a license."

Luckily, my sister is kind-hearted and has decided to forgive you!

The magical girl patted the girl next to her on the shoulder. The girl smiled slightly at her and then continued to pick at her hands with her head down.

The magical girl picked up her magic wand and aimed the transparent crystal at its tip at Hera.

"Hehe, let me use real magic to see your true colors."

She closed one eye and observed Hera through the glowing crystal.

The blue gem on Hera's wrist shimmered slightly, and the magical girl observing Hera showed a hint of doubt.

She put away her wand and looked at Hera with a suspicious expression.

"That's strange. I can't sense your level of cultivation. It seems you have counter-detection abilities or some kind of tool."

"Fine, if you don't want me to see it, then I won't."

The magical girl waved her hand and didn't continue.

This also relieved Tote.

"So you called me here, what exactly do you want?" Hera asked calmly. "And who are you, and who is this?"

Hera pointed at the magical girl, then at the withdrawn girl next to her.

The magical girl paused for a moment, then began to introduce herself.

"Mengyuan, she is my older sister, Mengyuan, we are both from Daxia."

Do you understand his Bactrian language?

Meng Yuan's last words were spoken in Da Xia script, as if to directly test whether Hera could understand them.

Hera understood perfectly and nodded honestly, "I'm of mixed race, my mother is from Great Xia, so I understand."

"Oh, I see. Hehe, then we're practically from the same hometown."

Mengyuan smiled happily. It seemed that Hera and she were both from the Great Xia people, which made her feel a sense of kinship.

She cleared her throat twice and began to formally introduce herself.

"The two of us are members of the [Godslayer] team, responsible for finding the alien species mixed among humans in this city."

"Because your behavior was a bit strange just now, I grabbed you and interrogated you properly."

Mengyuan carried her magic wand, her chest slightly puffed out.

"Oh, can I leave now?"

“No.” Mengyuan refused decisively.

"I haven't completely ruled out the possibility that you're a mutant yet. Besides, even if you're not a mutant, people with superpowers still need to register with us."

Hera's expression remained unchanged, but she focused her gaze on Dream.

From the life force emanating from the other party, Hera learned that Dream Wish was merely a person at the 'Ten Thousand Stars' level.

Unless her powers are too special, Hera could send her to her death in two or three moves.

"Alright, let me test whether you are human or not. I'm going to ask you a few questions, and you have to answer them truthfully."

She walked up to Hera, leaning on her magic wand. The sunlight shining on her head suddenly dimmed, as if it had been blocked by something.

"Oh, it's cloudy?"

Mengyuan lifted her hat, looked up, and her dark pupils immediately contracted.

Hera and Thoth also looked up.

The transparent protective shield covering the entire city was slowly being covered by a layer of ice and snow, and soon it was completely frozen.

Hera narrowed her beautiful eyes slightly. She knew without even thinking who could create such a spectacular sight.

I just didn't expect 'they' to arrive so quickly.

Above the sky.

A noble woman in a light blue dress stood quietly atop the frozen protective shield.

Her extremely cold eyes looked down at the city below.

Like a god looking down on all living beings, he gazes at the bustling city with indifference in his eyes.

Thick vines rose from the ground around the frozen shield, spreading across its surface.

After enveloping the entire shield, the thick, sturdy vines began to contract violently.

Cracks spread across the interface between the vines and the shield.

A girl dressed in floral clothes stands on vines, carefully breaking the shield.
