"Welcome to visit again..."
The buffet owner smiled and said goodbye to a satisfied Hera.
However, the tears streaming down his face were a testament to his despair and collapse at that moment.
Hera rubbed her belly, smacked her lips, and looked around for her next prey.
"Classmates, who can answer the question: What is the meaning of life?"
As they passed a school, Hera's keen ears picked up the sound of teachers lecturing inside the schoolyard.
Moreover, their topic immediately piqued Hera's interest.
"Let me see what the meaning of humanity is."
Hera immediately decided to go and join in the fun.
Her petite figure, like a weightless ghost, swiftly scaled the wall and ran into the campus.
After glancing around, he quickly found his target and walked lightly to a teaching building.
"Teacher, I know!"
From one of the many classrooms came the innocent and excited voice of a child.
Hera, hearing the sound, quickly went to the classroom window and peeked out.
"Okay, then this child, please stand up and answer."
The female teacher standing on the podium smiled and invited a child who looked to be in fourth or fifth grade to stand up and answer.
The child stood up happily and answered loudly.
"Teacher, I believe the meaning of our lives is to make our country prosperous and strong, and to contribute to the rise of our motherland!"
The child's accent and answers were so standard that Hera found it incredibly boring.
The teacher smiled and said, "Sit down. This student gave a very good answer. Do any other students have different opinions?"
"Teacher, it's me!"
"Okay, this student, please answer this question."
A little girl stood up, cleared her throat, and began to answer loudly.
"I think the meaning of our lives is to make our families happy, because I believe that only when I am happy and my family is happy, is that the most important thing!"
"Excellent, excellent! This child answered very well!"
My family is happy, and I am happy...
Hera leaned against the window, the sentence echoing in her mind.
family?
Do I have anyone I can call family...?
Hera went through all the people close to her in her mind and realized that the only group she could count as family were the members of the special investigation team.
Toth and his men could at most be considered subordinates.
If it makes you happy...
Hera is not very sensitive to emotions; apart from the fact that eating helps her survive, she seems to have no other way to make herself happy.
"But, students, I think the meaning of life is nothing more than that word 'emotion'."
After listening to all the students' speeches, the teacher began to share her own views.
"A sense of belonging and honor to serve one's country, a sense of happiness and joy to make one's family happy."
"All of this actually depends on different circumstances."
Haha, does that mean someone like me, who has no emotions, doesn't deserve to live?
Listening to the teacher's words inside, Hera couldn't help but mentally complain.
Ring ring—!
Just then, a clear bell rang throughout the campus.
This was followed by cheers from the children.
School's out!
"Go home, go home!"
"Alright, everyone go home now!"
"Okay~ Goodbye, teacher!"
Wave after wave of human cubs poured out of the school building, passing Hera and heading towards the door.
Hera, however, did not rush to leave. She simply stood there, as if waiting for someone.
Soon a woman wearing a pencil skirt, glasses, holding a child's hand, and carrying a small schoolbag came out.
This is the same teacher who was just discussing the meaning of life.
Upon seeing this, Hera hurriedly took a few steps over.
"Nono, what do you want to eat tonight?"
"Mmm, I want a hamburger!"
"Okay, but eat less!"
Suddenly, the female teacher noticed Hera walking towards her and immediately stopped.
"Um, hello, what can I do for you?"
The female teacher greeted him politely.
Hera stopped in front of her and got straight to the point.
"Hey, what's the point of living if there are no emotions?"
The female teacher was stunned for a moment, her mouth slightly open, and she stood there frozen in place.
"Don't you know?"
"Um... Miss, your question is a bit complicated. My name is Delara. What is your name?"
"Hera, so, one is not worthy of living without emotions?"
After Hera answered with her name, she steered the conversation back on track.
Hera could clearly see that Delara was a little flustered, but she quickly calmed down and said with a smile.
"Why don't you come to my house? My husband is home today, and we can talk about this over dinner. It should be helpful."
Hera tilted her head and thought for a moment, then opened her phone, glanced at the time, and decided that going to someone else's house for a meal wasn't such a bad idea.
"Okay, then I'll go with you."
"Okay, let's go."
Dela breathed a sigh of relief and immediately broke into a bright smile.
Hera suddenly felt that the other person was acting as if they were trying to coax her. Was the question really that strange?
Hmm...it does seem rather strange. She probably thinks she has depression.
Wow, your sister is so beautiful!
The child being led by Dela looked at Hera with an expression of adoration and said...
