At this point, Hera's anxiety finally subsided; at least she no longer had to worry about her life.
Then she has to consider another issue.
"Excuse me, is there any way for me to get back to the surface?"
As soon as she finished speaking, the three fishmen turned their heads at the same time to look at Hera.
Hera was startled and immediately realized she had said the wrong thing.
"It's impossible to get up there. We can't let any outsider in, and we absolutely can't let any creature that comes in get out."
The female shark-woman gave a cold reply.
"I see... Okay, thank you for your answer."
Hera didn't press further, nodded, and politely thanked her.
The female shark-woman's expression softened slightly, and she turned to look at the fish-man still hiding behind the male shark-woman.
"By the way, what's your name?"
"Oh, it's me? Oh, my name is Tang Tang, what's up?"
"I'll leave this person in your care for now. You should live nearby, right? I'll be happy to keep an eye on him."
"Huh?" Tang Tang looked incredulous. "This...this...this isn't right..."
What if she bites me!
"I won't bite!"
Hera was genuinely annoyed by her unnecessary worry.
"Alright, alright! I don't think she can outswim you. If she's really hostile, you can come to me. Don't you trust me?"
As he spoke, he grabbed Hera by the back of her collar and threw her in front of Tangtang.
"By the way, if you can't find it, you can ask someone else. My name is Spirit Shark."
"Hmm... okay." Tang Tang was on the verge of tears, while Hera felt somewhat relieved.
It's much better to have someone guide you through understanding society than to grope around aimlessly alone.
Moreover, since he seems to have amnesia, he needs someone to help him even more.
"Alright, things are pretty much resolved, so we'll head out now. We're quite busy with work."
After saying that, the spirit shark swam out of the cave, its body transforming into a pool of seawater, and then into a much larger giant shark.
The other male shark still looked very unhappy, but he didn't say anything. He transformed into a shark slightly smaller than the Spirit Shark and followed it away.
Hera stared blankly at the departing figures of the two fish.
Even though she had just been chased by one of them and witnessed his transformation from a shark into a human, she still found it incredibly magical, like magic.
Tang Tang shrugged and sighed, glancing at Hera, who was much taller than her, and shifted her body slightly in apprehension.
"...I really didn't mean any harm. Besides, I've never been in a fight before, so I won't hurt you."
Hera explained helplessly.
But for some reason, when I said those words, my conscience seemed to ache slightly.
That's strange, I don't think I've ever been in a fight before?
Upon hearing this, Tang Tang relaxed slightly, but her apprehension towards Hera was still evident.
"Well, um... how about you go back to my place now?"
"Okay, thank you!"
Hera naturally wanted to go out and see what the world was really like.
What if I were to be transported to another world like in some mindless novels I've read before? That would be terrible.
"Alright then, come with me."
Tangtang, swinging her legs, led Hera out of the cave.
Although Hera swam clumsily, she managed to keep up and quickly became familiar with swimming, her speed increasing.
As the two of them passed by a fossil, Tangtang seemed to remember something, stopped, and pointed at the fossil with great interest.
"Hey, aren't you a person from the ground? Then you should know what this creature is, right?"
Hera looked at the fossil in the direction she was pointing.
It was a strange creature that was about ten meters tall, with incredibly long legs and neck.
Hera's beautiful eyes narrowed instantly; for a moment, she had no idea what this thing was.
"Hmm, you didn't know?"
"Well……"
Hera looked at it more closely and then roughly recognized what kind of creature it was.
"That looks like a giraffe."
"giraffe?"
"Hmm, it seems to be a creature that lives in Africa. Because the trees there grow quite tall, it evolved a very long neck in order to reach the leaves."
"Oh, I see. It must be really difficult for you land creatures to survive. If you were in the sea, you could just swim up and eat leaves."
Hera smiled. "Indeed, but this creature is extinct. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't read about it in a paleontology book."
"Ah... they went extinct, why?" Tangtang's expression clearly turned somewhat disappointed.
"I don't know the specific reason, but it seems to be related to a mass extinction, where most species went extinct together."
Tangtang nodded, seemingly understanding but not quite.
Hera looked at the other fossils in the museum and found that many of them were extinct, and some she didn't even recognize.
"Wow, you even have elephant fossils! I've had a hard time finding elephant fossils before."
Hera arrived at the enormous elephant fossil with some excitement.
Gazing at the lifelike fossil, his eyes gleamed.
"I really want to see a live elephant..."
After watching for a while, she returned to Tangtang's side.
"Sorry, I got a little engrossed in watching. Let's go now."
"It's alright, it's alright."
Tangtang waved her hand and swam out of the ground museum with Hera.
