Si Xiaobei praised Hera without reservation.
Although Hera couldn't understand what Si Xiaobei was saying, she roughly understood that he was praising her, which meant that she had done the right thing.
She brought the porridge to her lips and slowly took a sip.
"Ugh~ I've been so frustrated all morning, losing five ranked matches in a row! What terrible teammates." Feng Xuan walked out of the room with a mournful look on his face and plopped down on the stool next to Si Xiaobei.
"It's okay, Feng Xuan. I'll play with you after dinner," Si Xiaobei said, trying to comfort Feng Xuan who looked worried.
"Xiao Bei is still the best." Feng Xuan reached out and patted Si Xiao Bei's head, then noticed the book "Complete Guide to Early Childhood Literacy" on the table.
"Hey, are you teaching Hera to speak?"
"Yes, Miss Hera is very fast. She learned to say 'hello' in less than an hour, although her pronunciation is a little off." Si Xiaobei nodded and replied with a smile, then looked at Hera again.
Feng Xuan glanced at Hera, who was still drinking porridge, and smiled. "You're really patient. I definitely couldn't do that." Then he leaned back in his chair behind the table and closed his eyes to rest.
"Hmm...it's not too difficult, as long as..."
"Hmm?" Suddenly, Si Xiaobei seemed to have noticed something, and her expression became somewhat worried. She got off the chair and walked towards the stairs to the basement.
Feng Xuan, who was resting with his eyes closed, noticed his actions and opened them to look over.
Xinglan, covered in bruises, was being helped by Liu Xiaogang and limped towards them, constantly crying out in pain.
"Sigh, as expected." Feng Xuan seemed to have anticipated this and wasn't particularly surprised.
"Walk slower, it hurts..." Xinglan winced in pain.
"Miss Xinglan, are you alright? So many injuries... Brother Xiaogang, you hit me too hard."
"Come on, Miss Xinglan, I'll take you to the infirmary." Si Xiaobei ran over, glanced at Xinglan's injuries, complained, and then hurriedly tried to help her up.
"No need! It's just a minor scratch, not worth mentioning..."
"Ouch... Ah! It hurts!" Xinglan put her hands on her hips, and before she could finish saying "tooth," she touched the wound on her waist and cried out in pain.
"Alright, alright, Miss Xinglan, don't move around, let me help you." Si Xiaobei looked anxious, as if Xinglan was about to die.
Xinglan didn't argue back and obediently let Si Xiaobei help her to the infirmary.
"Don't blame Brother Xiaogang, he's doing this for your own good," Si Xiaobei said to Xinglan as she helped her to the infirmary.
"How could I blame my own comrades! As a special investigation team, of course we have to train our members rigorously." Xinglan straightened her back.
"Phew~ That's good. I thought you'd be angry with Brother Xiaogang." Si Xiaobei breathed a sigh of relief.
“Why would I be angry with my companion?” Xinglan said matter-of-factly.
"Yeah, actually, Brother Xiaogang has been really good to you. I remember when the captain sparred with Brother Xiaogang, he broke three of his ribs." Si Xiaobei scratched his face, feeling a little sorry for him.
Xinglan felt a chill run down her spine. "Uh... I'm so glad the captain didn't come."
"Alright, the wound has been treated, it shouldn't hurt so much now." After packing up the medical supplies, Si Xiaobei prepared to continue to Fu Xinglan.
Xinglan dodged her, saying, "It's just a minor injury, no need to help me up." With that, she sat up from the bench.
"Ouch..." He had just stood up when he sat down again in pain.
"Don't push yourself, Miss Xinglan, let me help you."
"Oh well."
Si Xiaobei helped Xinglan go to eat together.
As they stepped out of the infirmary, they saw that Nanming had already served all the food and was waiting for them.
When Xinglan saw the food, her injuries seemed to instantly stop hurting, and she immediately let go of Si Xiaobei's hand and rushed over.
Si Xiaobei: ?
"Wow, breakfast is quite plentiful!" Xinglan's mouth was practically watering as she looked at the six bowls of noodles, six bowls of millet porridge, and the fried dough sticks and steamed buns on the table.
When Si Xiaobei arrived, everyone finally started eating.
Liu Xiaogang reacted quickly, immediately reaching for the largest meat bun with his chopsticks, only to be stopped by Feng Xuan's chopsticks.
They looked at each other, their eyes clashing as if sparks were about to fly.
"I was going to use this first, so I gave it to you. You go and take a bite!" Liu Xiaogang glared at Feng Xuan and said.
Feng Xuan retorted without backing down, "I was eyeing this meat bun the whole time before dinner, you should give it to me!"
"Give me!"
"mine!"
The two chopsticks clashed in mid-air like swords, neither gaining the upper hand.
The two of them grabbed the meat bun at the same time and started a tug-of-war. Feng Xuan suddenly smiled crookedly and said, "Gangzi, if you keep pulling like this, the bun will break and neither of us will be able to eat it. So you'd better let go."
Even if it breaks, I won't give it to you, Fuuko!
"Hey, you!" Feng Xuan and the other person started a tug-of-war again.
Because the two people deliberately controlled their strength, the steamed bun only deformed slightly and did not break.
Suddenly, the two men's chopsticks slipped and the buns fell to the ground. Under their watchful eyes, a pair of chopsticks instantly reached out and snatched the buns away.
"Haha, the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind!" Xinglan said smugly, holding a steamed bun.
The two glanced at Xinglan and then at each other, simultaneously snorted, and then sat down to eat properly.
"Here, Hera, have this bun." Xinglan handed the bun to Hera, who took it with her hand and put it in her mouth to eat.
Sitting next to Si Xiaobei, Nanming smiled slightly at the lively Xinglan and asked, "Does your injury still hurt?"
