Chapter 226 Leveling Up

Hera burst open the warehouse door and flew inside.

Inside the warehouse, Thoth and Fran, who had been notified in advance, had already packed all their belongings and were ready to leave at any time.

They didn't have much luggage, just one or two suitcases. Besides money, they didn't have any valuables.

Thoth glanced at the warehouse, which was full of life, and sighed softly.

"I thought I could stay here for a long time, but it turns out I have to leave again after only a few days."

My research project hasn't yielded any results yet.

Fran, carrying his luggage, hurried out.

"What are you still complaining about? Just run away."

Making such a commotion might attract the attention of the special assassination squad.

"When that thing comes, even ten gang leaders couldn't beat it."

Hera glared at Fran, snorted, picked up a box, and walked out.

Outside, Aikalen arrived late, her steps light and hurried.

"Sorry, boss... I'm late again."

"You're so late! I was terrified you'd betrayed us."

Fran, carrying the suitcase, walked up to the panting Ekaren and patted him on the shoulder.

"You are the most talented person I have ever seen, and you have already achieved 'stardom' at such a young age."

Fran's eyes were filled with admiration and envy.

This made Aikaren blush slightly, lower her head, and not dare to look him in the eye.

Tot and Will put their luggage in the car and got in.

"Will and I can just leave by car, since Godkiller Technology has never seen us before."

Boss, you guys should fly away as soon as possible.

I've already sent you the escape route.

Thoth tapped twice on his phone, and the other people's phones received the files he sent.

After receiving the message, the three of them used their respective abilities to fly away.

"Hey, wait a minute, where are Floran and the other three?"

Aikaren looked into the house but couldn't find the four people.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Will seemed to remember something, turned around, and said to Ekalen,

"In the morning, the four of them said they wanted to go out and play, so we let them go."

However, they seemed rather suspicious.

Aikaren frowned slightly. "Going out to play?"

He glanced at the setting sun and suddenly remembered the dreams they had talked about before.

Our dream is to join the Black Death!

Aycaren had a bad feeling.

"Damn it, they might have gone to find that Black Death gang..."

He muttered something to himself, or perhaps to someone else.

"The Black Death Gang? Are you the group that ambushed you and tried to kill their boss?"

Fran, who had already flown into the air, landed again and asked Ekalen.

Aikalen nodded.

"Yeah, the boss took a necklace from them, gave it to me, and then I gave it to the other four. They recognized it, so that's probably why..."

As Aycaren spoke, his head drooped lower and lower, and feelings of self-reproach began to spread through his heart.

Fran raised an eyebrow. "What does that necklace look like?"

"Hmm... it looked like a bird's beak mask." Aikaren recalled for a moment and gave him a rough description.

"Holy crap, it really is that group!"

Fran slapped his thigh and recognized the Black Death Gang that Ekalen had mentioned—the same group he had almost wiped out back then.

Aikaren was slightly taken aback. "You know him?"

Fran nodded, then shook his head somewhat awkwardly. "I wouldn't say we know each other, I'd say we...know each other."

"That's great! Then take me there, take me there..."

Aikalen slowly closed her mouth.

Everyone is preparing to flee for their lives, but he is dragging them down by going to find four people who are unrelated to them.

Aikalen suddenly felt a little ashamed.

Besides, the four of them might not necessarily be in any danger.

Even though the Black Deaths are a gang, they probably wouldn't do something like harming children...

Probably not...

"Forget it, forget it, those four don't really have much to do with us anyway..."

Let's go, let's not waste any more time..."

Are you sure?

"Yes, I'm sure..."

"But why do I feel like something's wrong with your complexion?"

Fran looked at Ekalen, whose face was contorted, turning pale and red in turns, and whose hands were tightly gripping the hem of her clothes.

Something just doesn't look right.

Ekalen also noticed her lapse in composure.

She quickly pulled up her scarf to cover her face.

But his body was still trembling slightly from the pangs of his conscience.

I feel like I'm such a hassle!

I'm busy all day but I don't help much; I only cause trouble for the boss!

Thinking this, Ekalen's condition seemed to worsen.

Fran glanced at Hera with some hesitation, wanting her to make a decision.

"Take him with you."

Hera waved her fair hand at the two of them without hesitation.

Hera understood perfectly what Aikaren felt at that moment—the desire to save others.

If the person you want to save is not saved because of you.

Even monsters can leave behind a lifelong regret.

Hera didn't want Ekaren to do this, so she simply agreed.

"Thank you, thank you, boss!"

Cough, cough!

Aikalen thanked Hera, and then began to cough violently.

He covered his mouth and coughed, then removed his hand.

A pool of blood appeared on his hand.

"What's wrong with you? You've reached this level, how can you still get sick?"

Fran quickly stepped forward to check on him.
