Chapter 216 The Scapegoat

Upon seeing this, Lisa's face turned deathly pale, and her tear-filled eyes were filled with terror.

"Really, I don't know who killed them! Please, please let me go, I beg you!"

But the crow-man acted as if he hadn't heard her, slowly bringing the knife in his hand closer to her face.

"For an artist, appearance must be very important."

The scalpel in the crow man's hand stopped at Lisa's cheek.

"I'm giving you one last chance."

Who killed my little brother?!

The crow-man gripped Lisa's hair even tighter, causing Lisa's scalp to feel a tearing pain.

But she dared not cry out; instead, she stared tremblingly at the man in front of her and the scalpel beside her face.

The crow-man stared silently at the other person, waiting for the answer he wanted.

"I……"

Lisa spoke tremulously, but the crow man suddenly turned his head to look to the side.

At the entrance of the alley, a young man who looked very upright descended from the sky.

He looked at everything in the alley with a slight surprise.

He then took out his phone and glanced at it, then looked at Lisa again, and nodded slightly, as if confirming something.

"Who are you? What do you want?"

I advise you not to meddle in other people's business.

The man with the crow-like appearance warned the other man in a calm voice.

Fran also noticed the crow-man, his brow furrowing slightly as his eyes became wary.

"I haven't even asked who you are yet, what are you doing here?"

At the same time, he slowly reached for the blood-stained knife behind his back.

The crow-man released Lisa's hand, slowly stood up, his left hand gripping a scalpel tightly, and his right hand holding a cane with a pointed bird's head.

The eyes hidden beneath the mask stared intently at Fran, as if issuing a final warning.

"Please, save me! Just ask me what you want, and I'll give it to you!"

When Lisa saw Fran, it was like seeing a last straw. She lay down on the ground, reached out her hand to Fran, and kept begging for mercy.

Fran slowly turned his head to look at Lisa.

When Lisa met Fran's gaze, she felt as if she had grasped a glimmer of hope.

The next second, a blue and white sword aura covered her vision.

Then, she could no longer feel anything.

*Pfft!*

Lisa was cleaved straight into a cloud of blood mist by the thick sword energy, leaving a deep cut on the ground.

The splattered blood stained the crow man's black leather jacket.

All the burly men around, except for the man with the crow, were startled by this.

His expression turned both angry and terrified.

Only the crow-like man seemed relatively calm.

"Is she your enemy?" the crow man asked calmly.

Fran, who had killed Lisa, didn't leave in a hurry. He slowly reached behind his back and pulled out the blood-stained knife.

"I guess so. She sent a bunch of people to kill my boss, so I came here and killed her."

Fran answered him very directly.

"Boss..."

"What happened to the men she sent to kill your boss?"

Fran gripped the blood-stained blade tightly with both hands, assuming a fighting stance.

"Of course he was killed."

In an instant! The crow-like man charged forward, the scalpel in his hand gleaming brightly as he slashed at Fran.

Fran's pupils contracted slightly, and he quickly placed the long sword in front of him to block the attack.

The sharp scalpel clashed with the long blade made of flesh and blood.

Instead of the expected metallic clanging sound, a sound of flesh being shredded was produced.

Fran's knife was slashed open.

Upon seeing this, even the man with the jinx was stunned by the strange sense of cutting.

Fran seized the opportunity and kicked the other man in the chest, sending him flying several meters.

With a thought, a vertical sword beam appeared out of thin air around Fran and slashed towards the crow man who had not yet recovered.

Blood blossoms bloomed, and the blue and white sword light left several fatal wounds on the crow man's body.

But the crow man remained standing, showing no sign of falling down.

Fran sensed something was wrong, and with a swift swing of his longsword, another sword beam shot out.

The crow-man, who should have been incapacitated, jumped up and easily dodged the attack when he saw the oncoming sword light.

The sword's edge missed its target, cleaving the house behind it in two.

The crow-man leaped into the air, stepping onto the wall beside him, and shot towards Fran like a missile once again.

Fran raised his longsword, which had already repaired itself, and slashed straight down, leaving a trail of blue and white light.

Two powerful attacks collided suddenly.

The massive sword beam easily severed the Raven Man's abdomen, while Fran himself only suffered a cut to his right arm.

The crow-man collapsed behind Fran with a thud.

Fran touched his right arm, which had been ripped open, and the wound was healing rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye.

He looked at the crow-man again, a hint of seriousness flashing in his eyes.

The crow-man, who should have been cut in half at the waist, now looked completely unharmed, and his arms were even trembling as he tried to prop himself up.

"ah!"

Among the group of burly men who had retreated to the side, a bearded man suddenly let out a scream.

Then, he began to bleed profusely from his abdomen, and his upper body fell limply to the ground, as if he had been cut in two out of thin air.

Next to him was another person who had also fallen to the ground, covered in cuts.

Fran glanced at the crow-like man, then at the dozen or so burly men huddled in the corner, trembling with fear, and nodded thoughtfully.

"I understand. Your ability is to make others die in your place, right?"
