Chapter 396 Commander Wang

The wine glass was suddenly thrown, and the spilled wine traced a scarlet arc in the air before crashing down on Han Xiaoxiao.

Han Xiaoxiao tilted her head slightly, and the wine glass that was thrown at her missed, instead hitting the wooden door behind her.

Everyone present was terrified by Gu Gongming's actions. Before Qian Lan could say anything, Gu Gongming roared angrily.

"Yes, I gave up on myself! Because I wanted to save them! I wanted to sacrifice myself to save my teammates..."

But what was the result?

"Dead!!!"

"The captain and vice-captain are both fucking dead!"

"And what about you? You're now using your even more broken body to laugh at me!"

At this moment, he was no longer the domineering CEO he once was; his face was full of anger, like a mad dog that had been provoked.

"Do you want to die?"

Han Xiaoxiao's eyes turned icy cold instantly, and her left hand gripped the hilt of the knife, looking as if she might strike at any moment.

"Hehe, what big talk."

Gu Gongming was not afraid at all. He produced a bright red pistol in his hand and pointed it directly at Han Xiaoxiao's head.

"Enough!!!"

Qian Lan shouted.

Her voice carried a powerful electric current that reverberated in all directions, causing Gu Gongming and Han Xiaoxiao to feel a numbness in their bodies at the same time.

The lights and electrical appliances in the entire building malfunctioned for a moment, but returned to normal after flickering for a few seconds.

The lights inside were still flickering slightly. Gu Gongming scoffed, put away his pistol, and sat back down in his leather chair.

Han Xiaoxiao also withdrew her hand, but her gaze remained unfriendly.

"Alright, fellow Night Stars, you've all seen the result, so please leave now."

Gu Gongming poured himself a drink and spoke to the others without even looking at them.

Qian Lan bit her lip, her face, made of electricity, filled with resentment.

"Really... can't we discuss this some more?"

"I don't like people who don't understand what I'm saying." Gu Gongming took a sip of red wine, his face turning cold.

The group exchanged glances and then lowered their heads, even the robot displaying a sad expression.

Xiao Liu sighed again, walked to the door first, grasped the doorknob, and prepared to open the door and leave.

Before she could even exert any force, the door opened by itself from the outside. When Xiao Liu saw who it was, she was completely stunned.

"Commander Wang?"

Wang Canxin smiled and nodded twice, then pushed open the door and entered, along with Jian Luo who was following behind him.

Upon seeing the two, everyone present looked rather displeased, while Gu Gongming's expression was full of sarcasm.

"What wind blew you here, Commander Wang?"

Upon hearing this, Jian Luo, who was standing behind Wang Canxin, frowned slightly. She was about to say something when Wang Canxin raised his hand to stop her.

"I'm sorry to bother you. I know my arrival may be a bit sudden, but I have something important to tell you."

He pushed up his glasses, casually found a stool, and sat down. "Do you mind if I sit down?"

He glanced at Gu Gongming, who nonchalantly turned his head to the side, saying, "Whatever."

"Thank you." He smiled faintly, then looked at the others. "You can sit down too; you must have been standing for a long time."

After a moment's hesitation, everyone decided to sit down.

Seeing Wang Canxin's domineering manner, Gu Gongming was clearly displeased, but he said nothing, wanting to quietly see what kind of trouble the other party was planning to cause.

Jian Luo stood behind Wang Canxin the whole time, like a competent bodyguard.

"Speak, Commander Wang, what exactly do you want with us?"

Qian Lan sat directly opposite Wang Canxin, her face full of vigilance. After all, the arrival of a high-ranking member of the Night Star Clan at this time was probably not a good thing; they were likely there to disband their team.

Wang Canxin did not answer Qian Lan's question directly, but instead asked a question in return.

"Have you ever thought about why the higher-ups are in such a hurry to disband you?"

Everyone was stunned.

"Yeah, that's right! Logically speaking, even if there are only a few of us, we shouldn't disband a team that has existed for so long."

Xiao Liu seemed to wake from a dream upon hearing Wang Canxin's words, and suddenly stood up.

"Xiao Liu, sit down first."

Qian Lan frowned slightly, beckoned Xiao Liu to sit down, and then looked at Wang Canxin.

"So you mean there's more to this than meets the eye."

"I suppose so." Wang Canxing nodded lightly, then placed his hands on the table in front of him, looking unusually serious.

Seeing this, even Gu Gongming couldn't help but turn his head to listen.

"Do you know... the gravedigger?" Wang Canxin said quietly.

"I know, I know!"

Xiao Liu, like a child eager to answer a question, raised his hand.

"They are generally used to guard cemeteries to prevent grave robbers and protect the cemetery!"

The robot next to him immediately showed an expression of admiration.

“Xiao Liu…” Qian Lan rubbed her forehead, feeling utterly helpless about Xiao Liu’s playful and silly personality.

"That's right, gravediggers are there to watch over the dead."

Wang Canxin nodded, "However, the tomb keeper I'm talking about here, the thing that is dead that is being guarded, is not a person."

"What is that?" Xiao Liu couldn't help but ask.

Wang Canxin's expression became more serious than ever before. "What they are guarding... is a dead civilization."

Everyone frowned, but Xiao Liu kept asking questions.

"What do you mean by guarding a dead civilization? Commander, can't you just say it all at once? Don't keep us in suspense."
