Chapter 55 The Knife Was Confiscated

"What the hell is this food?! Is it even fit for human consumption?!" Yan Wusheng roared, staring at the potatoes and fried flour on his plate.

"Where are the cafeteria staff? Who made this? Are they looking down on me?!" After saying that, he slammed the plate he was holding onto the ground.

"Where are they?! Are they all dead?!" Yan Wusheng became more and more agitated as he spoke, and even reached out to overturn the table.

Suddenly, his hand was grabbed, preventing him from flipping the table.

"Hmm...?!" Yan Wusheng frowned and turned his head, only to see Ye Yiqing's face with a right eye patch on.

"Okay, that's enough, stop fooling around."

Ye Yiqing tried to persuade him gently, but Yan Wusheng's veins started to bulge, and he became even angrier.

He slowly opened his mouth, his tone filled with disdain and anger, "Who do you think you are?"

After saying that, he tried to shake off Ye Yiqing's hand, but Ye Yiqing's hand gripped Yan Wusheng's hand tightly, like a pair of pliers.

"Let go of me..." Yan Wusheng's words seemed to burn with heat.

But Ye Yiqing still had a slight smile on her face and tried to dissuade him.

"Alright, if you're not going to eat, don't bother others."

Yan Wusheng's expression grew even angrier, and a hint of murderous intent even flashed in his eyes.

"Believe it or not, I'll kill you!" These words slowly escaped Yan Wusheng's lips, sending chills down the spines of all the new recruits around him.

"Hey, damn it! You're really asking for it!" Ye Ciqing, who was wearing an eye patch over his left eye, walked over with his hands on his hips.

He immediately started cursing, "Did my brother give you a smile and you really think you're something special?! Scarface!"

Coco, who was eating fried noodles, saw that Ye Ciqing had gone over and felt that things had gotten a bit out of hand, so her hands started to tremble.

"Hera... what should we do? Should we stop them? Won't they start fighting?" Coco asked Hera in a trembling voice.

Hera glanced at it only once before continuing to eat.

"Huh?!" Yan Wusheng looked at Ye Ciqing, his eyes even angrier. "Want to fight?!"

"Hey, you think you can beat me, you noob!" Ye Ciqing gave him the middle finger, mocking him mercilessly.

"You!!" Yan Wusheng gritted his teeth, just as he was about to raise his hand, Ye Yiqing's voice rang out.

"Shall we make a move?" Ye Yiqing still had a faint smile on his face, but his other hand was on the hilt of the knife, and his tone revealed a hint of coldness.

Yan Wusheng's eyes widened in fury, as if he wanted to tear them both to pieces. "If you're going to do it, then do it! Come on!"

"Hey! What's going on here!" Instructor Li Hu's deep voice suddenly rang out, startling everyone in the cafeteria.

Coco was so startled that she dropped her spoon, which fell to the ground with a crisp clatter.

The noise sounded particularly jarring in the otherwise quiet cafeteria.

Li Hu stormed over and separated Ye Yiqing and Yan Wusheng.

"What are you doing!" Li Hu demanded.

"I'm sorry, Instructor." Ye Yiqing first bowed and apologized, then slowly recounted what had just happened.

After hearing this, Li Hu looked at Yan Wusheng and asked, "Is it what he just said?"

"Yes..." Yan Wusheng crossed his arms, looking disdainful. "Who told you to make the food so awful? Even pigs eat better than this."

“Yes! Indeed, even pigs eat better than this!” Li Hu said.

"These foods were the best that our soldiers could eat when they were defending our country during those difficult times!"

And it was with these rations, which were worse than those for pigs, that they managed to protect our entire Great Xia Kingdom!

"Your conditions now are so much better than they were back then!" Instructor Li Hu raised his voice so that everyone in the cafeteria could hear him clearly.

Some people who originally didn't plan to eat started eating with their heads down after hearing Li Hu's words.

"You don't want to eat? Fine! Right now, you're going to run twenty laps around the track! You're not allowed to rest until you finish!" Li Hu shouted at Yan Wusheng, pointing to the cafeteria entrance.

Yan Wusheng stared wide-eyed at the instructor, his fists clenched tightly, but in the end he just scoffed and ran towards the playground.

"Sigh, what a troublemaker." Li Hu shook his head, looking somewhat troubled.

Then, looking at Ye Yiqing, his expression softened a bit. "You're alright, kid. You even know how to maintain order."

"Haha, of course." Ye Yiqing showed no nervousness or restraint while talking to the instructor alone.

Li Hu suddenly noticed the pure black samurai sword at Ye Yiqing's waist.

"Hey, nice knife. Let me take a look."

"Okay, sure." Ye Yiqing drew the katana, scabbard and all, and handed it to the instructor.

The instructor took the knife and slowly pulled the blade out of its sheath.

The blade emitted a faint humming sound, as if it were alive. The entire blade was a simple, unadorned black, except for the silver-white edge.

The blade is slightly curved and has few fancy decorations or runes, but it gives people a sense of simple beauty.

"A Japanese sword?" Li Hu looked at the sword's design and quickly recognized its origin.

"Yes, it is a famous sword. I went to Japan once before and went through some trouble to get my hands on it."

"Oh... a famous sword." Li Hu nodded thoughtfully.

"This knife is indeed a good knife, but we are not allowed to bring our own weapons during training."

"I'm confiscating this from you. I'll return it to you after the training camp ends." Li Hu sheathed the knife and smiled at Ye Yiqing.
