Chapter 104 Treasure Hunt
Ji Rong had explored most of the islands in the desolate sea, but had gained very little.
So, Jiao Jue handed Ji Rong a Ze Ming Pearl and had Ji Rong hold it. He blew a bubble wrap to cover Ji Rong and led Ji Rong into the deep sea to search for it.
Every time it sank one zhang (approximately 3.3 meters) downwards, Jiao Jue would blow a breath onto the cover, making Ji Rong inside feel no different from being on land, except that her feet were not touching the ground.
As they approached the bottom, perhaps because they had entered the territory of some sea creature, jets of water suddenly surged up in the calm deep water, surrounding them like a hurricane.
The violent flow of water swept over Ji Rong's protective aura, and even the bubbles began to tremble. Ji Rong immediately felt a squeeze and spat out a mouthful of water.
"You little bird, how can you be so dirty?" Jiao Jue said with a squinting look of disgust.
He then transformed into a giant dragon, holding a ball-shaped bubble in his two claws, and spat out a small stream of water to wash Ji Rong clean.
Then, he roared and unleashed a huge water dragon. He stuffed the bubble containing Ji Rong into his mouth and dived straight into the center of the water column.
"A true dragon! You are a true dragon!" From the darkness, a giant fish with a flat head and many blue eyes cried out in astonishment.
The horned beast looked at him from the water, raised its claw and shouted, "Leave now, or die."
The fish slowly turned its blue eyes around and called out, "I'm leaving right away."
"Sizzle"
No sooner had these words been spoken than cold, deep water swords shot out from the strange fish's mouth, each one heading straight for Jiao Jue's forehead.
The horned jade lowered its head and then slapped out with its tail, shattering the water swords that couldn't be dodged in the water.
The water sword pierced straight into Jiaojue's flesh, splashing up layers of blood droplets in the water. Jiaojue felt numb all over and was unable to exert any strength.
The two are currently engaged in a life-or-death struggle, where every breath is precious and every move could be fatal!
Jiaojue was no ordinary emperor. He had experienced the strongest tribulation of becoming an emperor in the dragon race, so this little bit of pain was something he could endure and resist.
Ignoring his own injuries, the horned crow extended its right forepaw with tremendous force and struck the fish.
The claws pierced through the fish's skin, and with a "poof," crushed the monster fish's heart.
His left forepaw then reached out and tore down along the fish's heart, instantly gutting the fish, its internal organs floating everywhere with the current.
The fish monster suffered repeated defeats and was unwilling to die.
Its eyes shot out beams of blue light, which hit the horned jade and made a hissing sound.
Blood, a mixture of crimson and blue-gold, splattered in her face, and Ji Rong could no longer see what was outside.
The horned beast moved the bubble containing Ji Rong to its hind paw, opened its mouth wide, and bit the monster fish's forehead, creating a phantom image of the monster fish.
His claws pierced into both ends of the fish's head, and he pulled out a Dao pill the size of a pearl.
Jiao Jue put the illusory image of the strange fish into a jade bottle with flowing inscriptions, then put the Dao Pill into a jade box. Finally, he made a hand seal with his claws and applied a ring of inscriptions to the body of the strange fish, putting all three items into his storage ring.
After capturing the strange fish, Jiao Jue led Ji Rong directly into the seabed. He found the strange fish's nest and examined it closely. The nest was rich in spiritual energy, but there were no traces of any young fish or mates living there.
Jiao Jue then put down the bubble containing Ji Rong, and breathed on it again. The bubble shrank, only covering Ji Rong's head.
He dipped his hind paw into a golden liquid of unknown origin and lightly drew inscriptions on Ji Rong's body. After finishing, he covered it with the golden liquid again.
Then, Jiaojue's body quickly shrank into the shape of a loach. He held his tail in his mouth, coiled up on the coral, and remained motionless.
Ji Rong carefully moved a few steps on the seabed, leaned against the Horned Jade, and took root on the spot. Layers of aerial roots hung down, enveloping the Horned Jade.
Ji Rong's mind followed the roots downwards, and sure enough, there was a spiritual vein half a zhang thick underneath. However, this spiritual vein looked as if it had been gnawed, with countless pits and scattered spiritual energy. Ji Rong observed it for a long time but did not see any signs of life.
Ji Rong returned to her original form, recalling the details of managing the spiritual veins in the past, and an idea surfaced in her mind.
Her mind returned to her spiritual platform, and she looked down at the spiritual lake below. Ji Rong called out, "Are you there?"
A three-headed dragon poked its three heads out of the water.
Ji Rong asked it, "There's an unclaimed spiritual vein, half the width of me. Do you want it?"
The three-headed dragon tilted its head and listened, then climbed up along the roots.
Seeing it climb up, Ji Rong said, "Come with me if you want."
The roots separated and grew according to Ji Rong's thoughts, opening a path for Ji Rong and the three-headed dragon.
As soon as the three-headed dragon entered the pitted spiritual vein, it opened its mouth at Ji Rong with dissatisfaction.
Ji Rong smiled at her and said, "I'll fix it for you."
The three-headed dragon looked at her with disdain.
The dragon swept back and forth through the spiritual vein, and the pits and depressions in the spiritual vein gradually became smooth.
Ji Rong also calmed down, waved her roots, and removed the damaged parts of the spiritual vein.
After working for an unknown period of time, Ji Rong gradually felt tired, and the three-headed dragon's figure also appeared dull and lifeless. So Ji Rong brought the three-headed dragon back to the spiritual lake beneath her spiritual platform.
After repeating this process eight times, Ji Rong and the three-headed dragon finally repaired the spiritual vein.
After the spiritual veins were repaired, the three-headed dragon stopped moving. Ji Rong's mind returned to her body, searching for Jiao Jue within its roots. Jiao Jue raised its small head and asked weakly, "Is it done?"
Ji Rong nodded happily and said, "It's done! We've made a profit again this time."
"Then let's go immediately." Jiao Jue transformed into its original form and pointed a claw at the bubble above Ji Rong's head. The bubble immediately enveloped Ji Rong completely again.
He lowered his head, picked up the bubble containing Ji Rong, and quickly swam upwards.
Once it broke the surface of the water, Jiao Jue placed Ji Rong on a reef, then shrank back to its original size and wrapped itself around Ji Rong's left paw. It said weakly, "Silly bird, can you take me back?"
Ji Rong looked down and saw that the scales on Jiao Jue's tail were fluttering. Although it was no longer bleeding, it must have been seriously injured.
Ji Rong nodded solemnly. She transformed into a magic bird and, enduring the pain of her tendons and bones separating from her claws, dragged the horned jade away.
She would fly low for a while, then find a place to rest; she repeated this many times until she finally returned to Breeze Island.
"Luanwu, Luanwu!" Ji Rong shouted at the top of her lungs as soon as she landed on the island.
Upon hearing that Ji Rong had returned to the island, Xuanwu hurriedly put down what she was doing and came out of Adu's residence. Seeing that only Ji Rong was there, she asked, "Where is Lord Jinlong?"
Ji Rong said calmly, "My brother won't be back for a while. Why don't you take me back to Tuifeng Island first? I miss my brother."
Unsuspecting, the witch climbed onto Ji Rong's back. Ji Rong took a few deep breaths, bit her upper and lower jaws, stomped her right foot down to soothe her newly acquired spiritual veins, and then drove her avatar to fly towards Tuifeng Island.
After the witch opened the seal, Ji Rong flew in with all her might, then released her beak. Her voice trembled as she said, "Witch, come too. I'm injured, badly injured."
Upon hearing this, the witch felt a chill run down her spine, her expression turned solemn, and she said, "Then I will go back to get the medicine."
“No, no need,” Ji Rong replied. “Come on, we have medicine, use whatever we have.”
Once the witch entered the seal and the seal closed, Ji Rong retracted her magical bird form and revealed her true form.
She revealed her left paw, on which was a small golden dragon with its tail turned upside down.
Upon seeing the light, Jinlong raised his head and asked, "Have we arrived?"
Ji Rong replied, "We're inside Tuifeng Island. Hurry up and get down, my claws are broken."
The golden dragon descended from Ji Rong's claws, reverted to its original form, and remained motionless.
As soon as the horn-shaped jade left, Ji Rong's left claw was fully exposed. The claw was curled up in a ball, with the root bone protruding and several cracks.
The witch felt sorry for Ji Rong and immediately wanted to set her bones.
