Chapter 167 Great Dan City (2)

Chapter 167 Great Dan City (2)

About a quarter of an hour later, the shopkeeper, pale-faced, led over a meager number of five animals.

A yellow-skinned ginseng doll, its body tattered, missing arms and legs, and dressed in a hempen robe, lay on the ground, shriveled and motionless, looking as if it were about to die.

A palm tree spirit with a wrinkled face like an old man and roots sprouting from its entire body.

Two stones, fixed in place by talismans, that had grown thin legs.

A Celestial corpse that still retained some consciousness.

Ji Rong examined the five and said, "That ginseng doll is barely usable, but why is it yellow-skinned?"

Shopkeeper Baihu said with a fawning smile, "This is how it was delivered."

Ji Rong frowned and said, "Shopkeeper, look at how many bite marks it has. I've been giving you face, but you say this. Do you want me to peel your face off right here?"

Its essence has probably been completely stolen and drained by you all long ago. If you're not honest, I won't take a single piece of your goods.

Bai Zhuo immediately bent down, glanced at the spirit crystal on the table, and said, "Don't worry, if you like this ginseng doll, the price will satisfy you."

When the ginseng doll was brought in, it didn't have much intelligence. As soon as it was put in the cage, it was devoured by other tree spirits in the same cage and was about to die. Now that a wealthy bird cultivator has taken a liking to it, why not sell it off?

Ji Rong frowned and said, "For something like this, I can only offer one spirit crystal at most."

I only came in because you were using the name of Tianming Palace and Lianyun Mountain, but I didn't expect to find so few people here. I'm really disappointed.

"Uncle, let's go. Let's visit the shops owned by some of our uncles and cousins."

The man with the scorching white eyes darted around and immediately said, "Seniors, please wait and follow me."

Then he bowed and led them into the backyard.

As they proceeded deeper into the area, Bai Zhuo skillfully parted layers of tiger-clan guards, leading Ji Rong and Shan Wu to a secluded spot hidden by a giant tree.

Upon entering the giant tree, Ji Rong saw a large cave, revealing an underground space.

Ji Rong and Shan Wu followed Bai Zhuo into the dug-out underground passage. After walking for a while, they saw rows of sturdy cages made of refined iron standing inside.

At the entrance to the cage, there was a high platform cast from refined iron, upon which sat a massive and majestic white tiger king. His eyes constantly scanned back and forth between the iron cages, and if any slave cried out, he would get up, walk over, and whip them with his tail.

Hearing footsteps approaching from the tunnel, the White Tiger King turned his head sharply and saw Bai Zhuo leading Ji Rong and Shan Wu in.

When the White Tiger King guarding the prison saw that the shopkeeper, Bai Zhuo, had brought a bird cultivator of the same level as him, and that an unfamiliar tiger king was following closely behind the bird cultivator, he knew that a big deal had come.

He hurriedly jumped down from the platform and rushed over to greet him, but frowned and roared at Bai Zhuo, "This place is filthy and unfit for entertaining guests. How could you bring such an honored guest here?!"

Bai Zhuo immediately put his two front paws on the ground and said to the White Tiger Venerable, "Grandpa Bai Kuang, these two distinguished guests from Yuxu Palace want to select some earth-attribute medicines. They only want the best ones. The ones I picked up earlier were not satisfactory to the guests, so I brought them down for them."

Bai Kuang stared intently at Ji Rong's chest and saw the gleaming Xuanhuan wooden plaque.

He said to Bai Zhuo, "I understand. You stay here and guard this place while I take the two distinguished guests to the deep well to make their selections."

"Hey." Bai Zhuo immediately jumped up and began to inspect carefully.

Bai Kuang led Ji Rong and Shan Wu through hundreds of large iron cages to the deepest iron gate. He stopped and said arrogantly, "Nowhere else can you find a more complete selection of earth-attribute goods than us. If you were not from the Jade Void Palace, an ordinary cultivator would not be worthy of being here."

Ji Rong glanced at Bai Kuang with her beady eyes, stretched out a wing, pointed at the door, and shouted, "Why don't you open it and let me see the good stuff? Do you expect me to just stand here and watch?"

Ji Rong's voice was so loud that Bai Kuang's raised tail involuntarily lowered. As he pushed the door open with his claws, he thought to himself, "Whose bird cultivator is this? She's still so arrogant even underground. If she takes a fancy to our goods, I'll definitely rip her off."

He bowed and led Ji Rong and Shan Wu through the door, then quickly closed it behind him. Shan Wu immediately turned back and bared his teeth at Bai Kuang, revealing the aura of an emperor.

Bai Kuang immediately bent his two front paws and knelt down, saying, "Senior, this is the rule."

Ji Rong stepped forward and said, "Uncle, let's go check the goods first." Shan Wu nodded, then calmed down.

After this incident, Bai Kuang lost all interest in testing him. He knocked on a wall three times, and another White Tiger King emerged from the darkness. Bai Kuang extended a claw with one nail raised and said, "Brother Li, some distinguished guests want to see some good earth-elemental goods. Please take them to see them."

The White Tiger King named Bai Li then said to Ji Rong and Shan Wu in a deep voice, "Honored guests, please follow me."

Since they entered this cage, there has not been a single light; they have been moving through the darkness the whole time.

Although Ji Rong was now the queen and could see at night, she was extremely uncomfortable running around underground like this.

Seeing Ji Rong flapping her wings behind him, Shan Wu stopped and lay down at Ji Rong's feet. Only after Ji Rong sat down did he go forward to catch up with Bai Li.

Bai Li looked at the scene without glancing at it or saying anything. Once Shan Wu caught up, he quickened his pace and went forward.

The two tigers arrived at the outer edge of a formation. Bai Li uttered a formation command and drew it in the air, instantly revealing the formation gate.

Shan Wu followed Bai Li into the inner room, which was well-lit. Bai Li pointed to nearly two hundred creatures on the ground, each imprisoned by a small array, and said, "Honored guest, all the earth-elemental goods are in this area. Please take a look and see if there's anything you like."

Ji Rong nodded, dismounted from Shan Wu's back, and carefully examined the area. Halfway through her examination, she pointed to a sleeping, earthenware-colored beast and asked, "Fellow Daoist Li, what is the price of this?"

When Bai Li saw Ji Rong pointing to the earth spirit transported from Liangzhou, he immediately realized that Ji Rong was indeed knowledgeable. He said, "This is a top-quality product from here. It is an earth spirit born from the soil and is a naturally occurring rare species. It costs 50,000 each."

In Ji Rong's sight, there were two clay dolls that looked like this. One had divine runes outlining the word "save life" on its chest, and the other had divine runes outlining the word "preserve life" on its back. However, both of these earth beasts had their limbs severed, making them crippled. She pointed at the two and asked, "Besides these two crippled ones, are there any others?"

Bai Lixi said happily, "There's another one, but it's not in good condition. When it was delivered, it was already broken into two pieces."

Ji Rong said, "Is he still alive? Take me to see him."

Bai Li immediately led Ji Rong to a dark corner and pointed to a pile of half-dried yellow earth that wasn't even encased in a binding array, saying, "Fellow Daoist, it's here."

Ji Rong examined it for a moment, then frowned and said, "This is too awful?"

Bai Li hurriedly said, "Fellow Daoist, it's not rotten, its inside is perfectly fine."

As he spoke, he raised his claws to break through the mud layer and prove it to Ji Rong.

Upon hearing these words, the mud pile gradually formed a baby face resembling that of a Celestial. The face glared angrily at Bai Li. When Ji Rong saw this grayish-brown face, she thought to herself that it was all so easy. She had just been thinking about how to give Shan Shui an identity, and this identity had already been found.
