Chapter 378 Ice Walk

Chapter 378 Ice Walk

Upon hearing this, Shanshui immediately bowed again and said, "I wonder if those few wicked creatures have caused any loss to the Immortal Lord. If so, Shanshui apologizes to the Immortal Lord on their behalf."

The immortal lord might release them so I can see them.

Leng Hezhong quickly replied, "Divine Lord, the six divine beasts are all well. This is your first time visiting my Ice River Cave Heaven, and you and my young friend Ji are here. Please have some food first, and I will take you there later."

After saying this, Leng Hezhong ordered Leng Hexia to personally present the mountains and rivers with ice lotus snowflakes, frozen syrup and icy dew. He also summoned some white-flowered fish to perform ice dancing in the ice cave, which was extremely lively.

After Shan Shui had eaten some flowers and drunk some broth, Leng Hezhong stood up and said solicitously, "Divine Lord, young friend Ji, please come with me."

Ji Rong carried the mountain and water along the cold river into the depths of the cave. There, the cold river stopped in front of a huge ice block and said, "Divine Lord, young friend Ji, I will take you to the ice prison. Do not resist." After saying that, it opened its mouth and exhaled a long breath of icy cold air towards them.

The icy chill enveloped Ji Rong like layers of silk.

Enveloped in this chill, Ji Rong felt as if her flesh and blood were frozen solid. She could no longer feel the cold, nor could she move. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw an ice chain pulling them through the crystal-clear walls of the cold river without any obstruction.

Along the way, Ji Rong saw many creatures of different shapes and sizes, standing in various poses. Some looked frightened, some seemed to be fast asleep, and some had smiles on their faces...

As Ji Rong watched, she gradually lost her thoughts and senses, becoming like a true ice sculpture, with only the landscape on her body still radiating a warm, earthy yellow light.

She didn't know how much time had passed when Ji Rong suddenly regained consciousness. Her eyes moved and she saw the cold air on her body turn into wisps and flow into the open mouth in the cold river.

Ji Rong looked around and found that they had arrived in a huge ice cave. At the corner of the cave was a small cold spring, full of spiritual energy. Various creatures were sealed on the cave walls. Beside the cold spring stood a piece of cold jade with the words "Ice Prison" written on it.

The creature scratched the ice surface with its claws in the cold river, its body radiating cold air. Then, all the creatures in the ice revealed their faces. The creatures were layered on top of each other, and there were a huge number of them.

Leng Hezhong pointed to the sealed creatures and said, "Mountain and Water God, which of these are your subordinate gods? I will take them down now."

Shan Shui stepped forward and pointed: "Mountain fox, mountain bear, mountain leopard, mountain deer, mountain sturgeon, mountain whale."

With each utterance from the mountains and rivers, a piece of ice would be lifted from the ice layer by the icy chains in the cold river and dragged out, falling into the cold spring.

Once the six of them had shed their skin, Shan Shui said, "Arong, do you have any spirit sacks? Let's put them in there so that the Great Cold Immortal Lord won't have trouble moving them."

Ji Rong nodded and took out six of them, giving them to Leng Hezhong. Leng Hezhong then used the ice chains to fish out the six divine beasts one by one and threw them into the spirit sack.

After tidying up the divine beast, Leng Hezhong said, "Now that we've found it, let me take the Divine Lord and Friend Ji out."

"Divine Lord, young friend Ji, do not resist." With that, it exhaled another gust of cold air at Ji Rong, and the familiar sense of dazedness washed over her again, causing Ji Rong to stop thinking.

After leaving the ice prison and returning to the cave, Leng Hezhong ordered his fish-headed cultivators to set up six more small tables, each filled with ice flowers and frost, to accommodate the newly released divine beasts.

Ji Rong and Shan Shui sat down again. Leng He Zhong picked up the ice chain and sucked it onto the ice block that sealed the divine beasts. Wisps of cold air spread from the ice chain to Leng He Zhong's head. Ji Rong felt that the immortal lord's hair seemed to have grown a little more.

As the cold air was absorbed by the frigid river, the six ice blocks shattered one by one. Once freed from the ice's constraints, they screamed and leaped about, trying to find an exit on the solid ice surface to escape.

Seeing this scene, Leng Hezhong couldn't help but frown again.

Shan Shui stood up and said gently, "You lot, are you frozen stiff? Why don't you come and pay your respects when you see me?"

Hearing the sound, the mountain fox looked up and saw the Mountain and Water God with his head on the earthen bowl. He immediately grabbed the mountain bear who was still stamping his feet and called out, "Sisters, don't run away, your eldest brother is here."

As soon as these words were spoken, they saw those with claws pull out their claws, and those without claws pull out their fins, and they bowed down to the mountains and rivers in an orderly fashion, saying, "Greetings, elder brother."

The mountains and rivers nodded slightly to them, pointing to the cold river above and below, saying, "These are the Great Cold Immortal Lord and the Lesser Cold Immortal Lord. We are now guests here."

Upon hearing this, the mountain whale and the mountain bear were still stunned, while the mountain fox and the others who understood immediately led them to bow down to the two immortal lords at the head of the table.

Seeing that four of the six reacted quickly, Shan Shui was satisfied. He then pointed to Ji Rong and said, "This is... Lady Ji of Yu Xu Palace. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have known you would be here."

The mountain foxes bowed to Ji Rong again and said, "Greetings, Lord Ji."

Seeing a divine beast bow down, Ji Rong, who hadn't been treated with such courtesy in a long time, felt her head spinning. She skillfully pulled out a string of storage rings from under her wings, intending to give them as a reward, but when she looked up, she saw Leng Hezhong's withered face, and immediately stuffed the half-exposed storage rings back under her wings.

"Sigh, I've gotten carried away again."

She thought to herself, "In the future, I must make the cultivators of the Jade Void Mountain Range and the Pill Mountain Range call out to me a few more times, so that I won't lose track of who is more important when I hear these words."

After the six mountain foxes greeted him, Shan Shui told them to sit down. Then, he led the six divine beasts to raise a cup of frost wine towards the cold river and said, "Thank you for your care, Immortal Lord!"

Leng Hezhong waved his claws repeatedly, saying, "You flatter me, Divine Lord." With a flick of his ice chain, an ice platform gradually rose in the cave.

The white-spotted fish danced with their fins as they returned to the high platform;

Leng Hexia also got into the mood and started singing cheerful folk songs on the side;

After their dance was over, the mountains and rivers ordered the divine beasts to come up to the stage and display their respective skills.

We went back and forth, chatting and laughing.

Amidst the clinking of cups and the exchange of toasts, Shan Shui asked Leng Hezhong, "Two immortal lords, although their words and actions are unruly, they are quite diligent in their work. This Juzhou is now desolate; could you perhaps employ a few subordinate deities to fertilize the land and clear the veins?"

Leng Hezhong said, "This matter is not urgent. We will discuss it with the leaders of the various tribes before making any plans."

After the guests had enjoyed themselves, Leng Hezhong personally escorted them to an ice boat on the icy river to rest.

As soon as the door closed, Shanshui asked, "Tell me, how did things go wrong even when we were digging underground?"

They looked at each other, then started pushing and shoving to squeeze the mountain fox out.

The mountain fox could only force a smile and said, "Brother, there's nothing we can do. It's just too cold here, and the ice is too thick. We can't sense any spiritual energy from above, so we have to dig deep down to search."

Shan Shui nodded and said, "I understand. You must be careful in the future. This time, the two immortal lords were kind. If you had encountered someone else, you would probably be dinner on a plate by now."
