Chapter 469: The Way to Heaven (1)
As the Ascension Ceremony of Kyushu approaches, guests arrive in twos and threes, each followed by a transport team of no less than ten riders.
Upon arriving at the foot of the Yuxu Mountains, the pack animals from various places reported their names, unloaded their tribute at the archway, and then headed out. Gu Lin, along with dozens of his disciples and grand-disciples, counted the items and made a register on one side.
The Ascension Ceremony in Kyushu is different from the past; there is no pre-banquet. This way, a lot of money can be saved.
Fortunately, the world is now unified. These cultivators who came to the meeting were firstly deterred by the power of the supreme ruler, and secondly, they came to see the new things. Whether there was food or not was not important to them.
Gu Lin knew that the things carried by these pack animals were mostly local specialties, which were just introductory gifts. If Lord Ji and Master Wanfa could show them something new and interesting today and make some promises, they would then reach into their own fur and perhaps even write a contract on the spot. Only then would they give out truly good things.
As the date of the meeting drew near and the last day approached, even more cultivators arrived from the heavens and the earth. Several existing deities also discreetly concealed their radiant light and followed the cultivators through the archway into the inner chamber.
Inside the hall, the monks chose their seats, and the attendants served fruit and juice.
Ji Rong and Qing Pingzi sat upright on the high rock, like a painted deity. She looked at the guests who were gradually arriving and planned the grand scene that was about to unfold. She always felt that something was missing. It wasn't until Jiao Jue and Shan Shui entered the inner room one after the other and smiled at her that she found that missing piece.
"Indeed, divine methods are intertwined and mutually reinforcing. Why not demonstrate them to the cultivators of the Nine Provinces and create a legendary tale?"
Ji Rong stared at Jiao Jue with expectant eyes. Jiao Jue nodded slightly to her, then pulled Xiao Bai off her neck and said, "Xiao Bai, go see what your Lady Ji Rong has to do this time?"
Xiao Bai transformed into a wisp of white smoke and flew onto the stone platform, wrapping its arms around Ji Rong's neck. Ji Rong grinned and conjured a golden, shimmering soundproof barrier. He whispered to Qing Pingzi beside him, "Senior brother, today is a fine day. Let the divine authority lay the foundation for our spatial path with clouds. In this way, the cloud path we create will be even more solid."
Qingpingzi frowned and said, "Junior sister, this is certainly more impressive, but I am the Ancestor of All Laws. Doing so would be seen as trampling on divine authority. Besides, Lord Jue and Lord of Mountains and Rivers might not agree."
Ji Rong pointed to the little white thing on her neck and said, "Senior brother, eldest brother will agree."
Our relationship is already close. If there is a source in the heavens beyond the heavens, we should naturally bestow a seat upon Lord Jue and Lord of Mountains and Rivers. Even if there is no source, we cannot say that we are acting on divine authority. We are clearly standing on the shoulders of the gods to open up a path that no one has ever walked before. This is a legend.
Senior brother, you're a god, a god, first a god, then an immortal;
When the divine declines, the immortals emerge; when divine authority forms the foundation, the path of immortality flourishes.
This is precisely a symbol of the transmission of the true Dharma of Heaven and Earth. You need not worry; I will take care of everything.
Seeing Ji Rong say this, Qingpingzi finally nodded. The bird and the monstrous beast went through the details again, trying to shock everyone and make them take out most of the treasure in their bellies.
After saying this, Qingpingzi got up and stepped down from the stage. He turned his back and summoned his quick-witted junior brothers and sisters to give them some instructions.
Ji Rong turned to Xiao Bai and said, "Xiao Bai, listen carefully, and go back and tell your older brother."
Xiao Bai nodded, flew back to Jiao Jue's ear, and repeated Ji Rong and Qing Pingzi's conversation to Jiao Jue. Jiao Jue nodded to Ji Rong, who was watching him from the stage, and then whispered to Shan Shui, who was sitting next to him.
At the end of the day, the drums are sounded and the bells are rung; the doors are closed and the curtains are lowered.
Ji Rong stood up, raised her head and spread her wings, and accepted the great worship of all the cultivators in front of her. She stirred up the spiritual energy in her body and gave a speech to the cultivators on the orthodoxy of the succession of gods and immortals. After explaining the cause and effect of summoning the cultivators to attend the meeting, she handed the platform over to Qing Pingzi.
A small, earthy-yellow ball wrapped around the ancestral tree emerged from Ji Rong's body and, taking advantage of his sideways movement, slipped it into Qing Pingzi's claw.
"Senior brother, you must write well." Ji Rong looked at the astonished Qing Pingzi and chuckled softly.
Qingpingzi nodded slightly, a flash of inspiration passing through him. The Myriad Laws Seal materialized from between his brows and hung high above his head. He held a whisk in one claw and supported the ancestral tree wrapped in an earthen-yellow sphere with the other, and said loudly, "Lord Jue, could you build a cloud for this old man?"
Jiaojue stood up, nodded to Qingpingzi above, then narrowed his eyes three times at Xiaobai on his body and said, "Go."
Quanbing Xiaobai narrowed his eyes at Jiaojue three times, flew into the air, and with his dragon mouth slightly open, he saw water lines surging in from all directions. These water lines hit Xiaobai in the middle and reflected golden light, then quickly turned into rolling white mist, surging towards Qingpingzi's whisk.
Golden rays of light faintly shone through the mist, gathering it like silk threads and entwining it. Little White circled the enormous cloud layer once before stopping at Qingpingzi's whisk.
Seeing that there was a cloud, Qingpingzi said to Jiaojue, "Thank you for your help, Lord Jue."
Then he said to the Mountain and Water God, "Mountain and Water God, I wish to evolve the Great Dao of Space. Could you build earth and stone as a foundation for me?"
Shan Shui then stood up and said, "That's certainly acceptable. But what kind of immortal ancestor Wanfa would you like?"
Qingpingzi said solemnly, "Make it in the shape of a round arch to accommodate all the spatial inscriptions."
Shan Shui reached out his left hand and removed the broken bowl from his head. At that moment, faint mountain and water patterns flowed across his earthen-yellow skin. He said, "As the Immortal Ancestor wishes!"
Having said that, He handed the bowl to the front of the horn-shaped jade, and the horn-shaped jade opened its mouth and spat out a large mouthful of pale golden primordial energy. Shan Shui took the bowl back to his front, stirred it with his right hand, and then threw the bowl next to Qing Pingzi's feet.
Then the bowl swelled with the wind and spun around in the air; eight stalagmites sprouted from the soil and supported the bowl. The mountain and water shone with a smile and said, "Immortal Ancestor of Ten Thousand Laws, let us use this as our foundation today."
Qingpingzi looked at the Earth Authority at his feet and said, "Thank you for your help, Divine Lord."
The roots of the ancestral tree silently passed over the small ball and quickly circled around Qingpingzi's hand holding the whisk. A surge of heroic spirit rose in Qingpingzi's heart, and golden runes flashed in his mind. Qingpingzi waved the whisk, which was dipped in white mist, as if he were wielding a giant dragon, writing calligraphy in the high sky.
The Myriad Laws Seal above his head shone with golden light. As he wrote each inscription, the next rune would light up on the seal. When he wrote ten zhang (approximately 33 meters) of inscription, the earthen bowl below would widen to ten zhang (approximately 33 meters) to support him steadily.
The cultivators present, regardless of age, had seen many battles and treasure-grabbing in the past, and many of them had even fought against the hundred mountain warriors when they were fighting for territory.
Few had ever seen such a magnificent and harmonious display of divine magic! For a moment, they all held their breath and stared at the stone platform.
With divine assistance, Qingpingzi wrote faster and faster, and when he had written three thousand characters, wisps of air began to rise in the sky.
