Chapter 64 Returning to the Past

Chapter 64 Returning to the Past

The atmosphere inside the cave was melancholic and alienated.

Both Ji Rong and Ji Zhuang were in low spirits.

Gu Qingqing climbed onto the windowsill, picked up a tonic that Wu Yue had made for her, and said, "Ji Zhuang, do you remember that you talked about your sister again?"

"Again? When?" Ji Zhuang scratched his head with his right wing claw and asked.

"You scratched my neck again." Ji Rong flew to the window and stretched out her neck, the fresh scar covered with scabs clearly visible in the sunlight.

"That day you said I smelled so good, and then you peed on me when I wasn't looking!"

"How could this be..." Ji Zhuang scratched his head even more.

Feathers fell one by one as he clawed at them with his wings.

He thought about it and realized it was true.

At that moment, all he wanted was to taste his sister's blood.

Once a thought arises, the desire in one's heart, as if attached to something, spreads rapidly upwards.

Ji Zhuang swallowed hard, swallowing his self-doubt as well, then turned and flew away.

There aren't that many things in this world that we don't remember, unless we deliberately try to forget.

Ever since waking up on this island, Ji Zhuang has deliberately avoided thinking about what happened on that stormy day. He was afraid that if he did, the "Refining Phoenix Scripture" would ring in his ears again.

But things in this world can't be forgotten just because you want to; not wanting to think about them is a form of resistance; and the more you resist, the stronger they become.

Ji Rong sat by the window, watching Ji Zhuang fly away. She glanced down at the dust floating in the air, and thinking of the hard times they had spent in Ligu City, she spread her wings and chased after him.

Gu Qingqing looked at the empty cave, feeling lost and dejected, and then she chased after him.

Ji Zhuang flew to the seaside, sat down on the sand, and watched the tide rise and fall.

He wasn't really used to doing it this way, but his younger sister Ji Rong liked it, and after seeing it many times, he learned it.

Ji Rong and Gu Qingqing came over one after the other at this moment, and sat down with Ji Zhuang squeezed between them.

Smelling his sister's scent, Ji Zhuang was in a state of turmoil. He flapped his wings and tried to get up to escape, but Ji Rong and Gu Qingqing pinned his wings down with their claws.

"Let me go! Let me leave!" Ji Zhuang said urgently.

“I won’t let you go,” Ji Rong said calmly. “If you want to eat me, then you’d better hold back. Just hold back as you did before.”

"What if I can't resist one day?" Ji Zhuang said dejectedly, lowering his head.

Ji Rong paused upon hearing this, and a bold idea immediately popped into her mind. She raised her head and said, "Then I'll practice it too, haha. I'm the one who told you the method. Then we siblings can see who has a sharper tongue and who has a tougher life."

Upon hearing this, Ji Zhuang drooped his wings and let Ji Rong and Gu Qingqing carry him home.

But he no longer wanted to sleep with them; he slept alone outside the cave and rolled logs to seal the windows and doors.

“You guys sleep like logs at night,” Ji Zhuang said.

Ji Rong wanted to persuade him further, but Gu Qingqing felt that Ji Zhuang's consideration was very thorough. She said with satisfaction, "I think it's good. Ji Zhuang, you've become smarter now."

Ji Zhuang, suddenly praised, scratched his head shyly.

Ah Xiao arrived the next day.

When Ah Xiao has free time, he waits for orders from Jiao Jue. Today, he has come to deliver a message for Jiao Jue.

"Sister Fox, Lord Jiaojue sent me to invite you over."

Ji Rong was stunned for several seconds before realizing who the horned jade that A'xiao was talking about was.

"Little one, why did that dragon call us over?" Ji Rong looked up and said with dissatisfaction.

“I don’t know either,” A’er replied.

Before the blood talisman on Feng Qing's body had dried completely, Ji Rong and Ji Zhuang took Gu Qingqing to Jiao Jue.

The horned jade hanging from the tree watched the two birds and one fox flying in from the sky, narrowed its eyes, and sneered with dissatisfaction, "Why are you so slow?"

Ji Rong immediately flew to a spot three zhang away from the tree and stopped, shouting at the top of his lungs, "Lord Jiaolong, what's the matter that's so urgent?"

Jiaojue looked at the little bird monster that was three zhang away from him and said irritably, "Fly over here and talk to me. I don't eat birds."

Finally, he glanced at the calico fox Gu Qingqing, who was constantly shaking her leg, and the drab Ji Zhuang, and said with a disdainful squint, "That ugly fox doesn't need to come over."

Ji Rong and Ji Zhuang reluctantly flew up to the tree of the Horned Jade.

"Speak, what is it?" Ji Rong was terrified, but thinking that she couldn't back down when she was out in public, she stretched out her neck and said something that was sure to get her punched.

Ji Zhuang quickly reached out and covered her mouth with his paw.

Jiao Jue looked at the arrogant little bird, grinned sinisterly, and suddenly spewed a dragon's breath at Ji Rong and Ji Zhuang.

Ji Zhuang was immediately terrified by the dragon's breath and trembled so badly that he could barely stand.

Ji Rong simply gripped the tree even tighter. She shook her wings and disgustedly wiped her face with her wing claws, saying, "Do you know how smelly your saliva is?"

"This bird is indeed strange; it's not afraid of me at all!" Jiao Jue affirmed in his heart once again.

"Hand over the Mirror Spirit!" Jiao Jue said in a deep voice, "You'll be in trouble if you keep that thing."

"Who is the Mirror Spirit?" Ji Rong asked, tilting her head.

"Don't play dumb, you saw it that day."

"That white ball of fluff?" Ji Rong said, "So it's called Mirror Spirit."

She spread her wings and said, "What a pity, it crawled into our puppet beast and won't come out."

Having dealt with this little bird many times before, Jiao Jue didn't want to argue with it. He felt that continuing the conversation would not only be a waste of his time but also a constant humiliation of his authority.

Then he gracefully took out a jade box from his mouth and opened it with his claws, revealing five neatly arranged Nine-Turned Vermilion Fruits inside.

As the box was opened, the delicious aroma of the enticing bird filled the air, and Ji Rong and Ji Zhuang both swallowed hard.

"Snap!" The jade box closed and was sent back into the mouth of the horned jade.

"Bring the Mirror Spirit over, and this box of Vermilion Fruit is yours."

Looking at the two little birds in the lower realm and their dog-like stares at the vermilion fruit, Jiao Jue's mood instantly became pleasant.

He raised the tip of his tail and circled the tree again and again, squinting his eyes and laughing wildly.

The golden sunlight shone on his golden scales, making him look like a god.

Upon hearing this, Ji Rong quickly nodded and said, "Okay!"

"Another chance to make a fortune has come," Ji Rong thought to herself with delight.

She kicked Ji Zhuang, snapping him out of his daze, then flew into the air and said to Jiao Jue, "I'm going to find your mirror spirit now, so don't you dare back out."

Jiaojue snorted, wrapped itself around the tree, and closed its eyes, pretending to sleep.

"You'd better take advantage of my good mood and send it over quickly."

Ji Rong nodded quickly, then immediately called out to Gu Qingqing and flew home with Ji Zhuang.

After flying out of Jiaojue's territory, Ji Zhuang asked Ji Rong enviously, "Sister, why didn't his aura affect you?"

“It’s not without its effects.” Ji Rong turned to her brother and said, “His voice is so loud, and the wind is so strong, that I feel weak, but I can’t lose my composure.”

Then she giggled and added, "Brother, you should know that if you lose in terms of momentum, you won't get anything good."

Upon hearing this, Ji Zhuang admired Ji Rong even more.

He secretly resolved to learn from his sister, completely forgetting that his sister was no longer the same kind of person as him.
