Chapter 7 Trading

Chapter 7 Trading

Huang Pinjie didn't come out until it was almost dark.

Upon seeing her appear, Ji Er flew down from the tree and jumped around Huang Pinjie.

Seeing that Huang Pinjie, this old fox, walked freely and had no obvious wounds or bloodstains on her body, but the expression on her face was as if she had eaten shit, Ji Er felt half at ease.

She crouched down and carried Huang Pinjie on her back, and thoughtfully used her beak to push Huang Pinjie into the softer fur near her neck to keep her warm; then she called the kittens to follow behind her and rushed straight home.

As soon as they returned to Qingluan Peak, Ji Er shouted for Qing Shi to take the child away.

Just as Qing Shi was about to fly away with Ji Rong and Ji Zhuang, Huang Pinjie called out, "Qing Shi, wait, take some food back with you."

Huang Pinjie took a small sack of high-grade spirit grains from Ji Er's wing nest and threw it to Qing Shi, making Qing Shi, who hadn't drooled for many years, drool again.

Ji Er squinted at Qing Shi, his eyes almost disappearing.

Fortunately, Huang Pinjie swatted her on the head with her claws, and Ji Er exhaled a breath of hot air from her nostrils and flew towards Jiming Mountain. She was a colorful chicken, and it was not safe for her to travel at night, so she had to hurry.

Along the way, Ji Er thought about the bag of spirit grain and said with particular resentment, "Why are you so good to him? I still have food in my nest; that was a bag of top-grade spirit grain, I couldn't bear to eat it myself, I was saving it for the cubs to eat privately."

Huang Pinjie wasn't in the mood to argue with her tonight. She didn't respond at all. Ji Er thought of the disgusted look on Huang Pinjie's face when she came out, and shut her mouth in a huff.

After Huang Pinjie returned, she instructed Ji Er to fetch water for her to take a bath. She washed her eleven times until the wound was so raw and painful from being washed by the water that it turned white and started to hurt.

After taking a bath, the old fox went into the quiet room and never came out again.

Ji Er waited anxiously outside the quiet room. On the fourth day, Ji Er felt that the old fox inside was still breathing evenly, but there was no other sound except for breathing. Even when she put food in, she could not hear Huang Pinjie getting up to chew.

"This is not normal. Has this fox been poisoned? An old fox that has been poisoned cannot breathe so evenly."

"Was I really forced to eat shit? No, thinking about that is disgusting!"

......

Filled with questions and wild thoughts, Ji Er could no longer stay still. She desperately broke down the door and went inside to find a pile of food that was about to rot.

Huang Pinjie lay helplessly on her straw mat, her fur dull, her eyes wide open as if about to bulge out, looking exactly like a starving ghost.

"Did you eat shit?" Ji Er asked anxiously, and the words in her mind came out smoothly. She flapped her wings and landed on the mat in an instant, quickly pecking at Huang Pinjie's nape and pulling her into her arms.

Huang Pinjie was held in Ji Er's arms. Listening to the rapid beating of Ji Er's heart, her body gradually warmed up. She whispered, "What are you guessing? There's nothing."

Upon hearing this, Ji Er's heart, which had been hanging in suspense for many days, skipped a beat and gradually calmed down.

She said, "Don't be stubborn. If it's just being force-fed excrement, that's fine. But what if you're forced to drink poison and die?"

Huang Pinjie was furious when she heard this, but she was old and frail and had been hungry for many days. She didn't have the strength to break free from Ji Er's restraints. Besides, Ji Er's embrace was warm and made her feel safe, so she didn't want to leave.

Then Huang Pinjie howled, "Well, Ji Er, you heartless bastard, how dare you think I should eat shit in your heart, and you even say it's good!"

To everyone's surprise, Ji Er said confidently, "You said it yourself, that shit won't kill you! Back then, when I couldn't answer your questions, you punished me by making me peck at shit. I've tasted all the shit in Jiming Mountain."

Later, you saw me eat excrement without batting an eye, and you could even taste the race. You even praised me for my great perseverance, saying I would surely become a great cultivator.

Huang Pinjie was stunned, thinking to herself, "Damn it, it really is!"

Back then, she had no experience, no money, and no patience, so she used some dubious words as gospel to raise Ji Er. Ji Er didn't go crazy or go astray and was still healthy. I really don't know whether to praise her for being naive or for being too narrow-minded.

After hugging her for a while, and feeling that the old fox's temperature had returned to normal, Ji Er picked up a low-grade spiritual fruit that Huang Pinjie usually loved and put it in her mouth, saying, "Eat it."

But Huang Pinjie spat it out after taking just one bite of the fruit, leaving Ji Er's chest covered in white foam.

Ji Er got anxious and tried to force the spirit dew into Huang Pinjie's mouth. He managed to get a little bit in, but Huang Pinjie spat it out again. This time, the spit-out liquid was mixed with yellow.

Seeing this, Ji Er's old face scrunched up. She gently placed Huang Pinjie back on the mat, and then, as if familiar with the place, she found several large burlap sacks and packed up Huang Pinjie's usual items.

"What are you doing! Robbery!" Huang Pinjie watched as Ji Er packed up his beloved items one by one, thinking that Ji Er had finally revealed his true colors and was going to take advantage of the situation.

"Who wants this pile of junk? I don't care about it."

As Ji Er packed, he said disdainfully, "I'm going to pack you up and take you back. I can't stay here for long, but I'm worried about you like this."

Huang Pinjie, you won't die before me!

After packing up the items, she handed Huang Pinjie a spirit sack and said, "Is there anything else you need to pack? Don't stay at my place for too long, or those wicked bastards outside will steal all the good stuff."

Huang Pinjie looked at Ji Er and chuckled. She lifted a corner of the cushion, pointed to one of the stones, and said, "All my belongings are here. Go ahead and dig."

Ji Er spread out his wings and glared angrily at Huang Pinjie, saying, "Old fox, I don't have wings or claws, do it yourself!"

Huang Pinjie immediately slumped back onto the mat and groaned, "I haven't eaten for three days, and you still want me to work."

Looking at Huang Pinjie's pale face, Ji Er decided not to bother with this guy. She stretched out her claws, put her beak together, and started digging in the soil.

After Ji Er finished packing up the treasures inside, he laboriously used his claws to restore the stone to its original state.

Huang Pinjie then instructed Ji Er to take a bath, saying, "You smell terrible, go wash yourself clean in the tub."

Ji Er looked up angrily and said, "What kind of brainless lucky rooster would go to bathe in the water!" But her clothes smelled really bad, so she ran to the haystack outside the cave and rolled around.

After tidying himself up, Ji Er wiped Huang Pinjie's face with a damp cloth; then he carried Huang Pinjie and her luggage on his back and flew towards Qingluan Peak of Qingluan Mountain in the Danxue Mountains.
