Chapter 76 Great Hate

Chapter 76 Great Hate

Jiaojue gripped the nautical chart, his chest tight with pent-up emotions, filled with intense hatred.

Previously, when he saw Feng Qing as an anomaly, he only had some thoughts about it, but after this experience, he made a firm decision.

As long as he's alive!

He must overturn the banquet table of the Temple of War and shatter the spiritual source upon which the gods rely.

Jiaojue circled around and around in the hole he had dug, burying his head at the very bottom of his body, gritting his teeth, and occasionally making clanging sounds as he struck the ground.

Fortunately, the hole was dug deep, and there were no other inhabitants nearby. Jiao Jue also used many methods to conceal it, so no one heard anything.

The next day, Jiao Jue came to find Ji Rong with his swollen, red eyes. His eyes were no longer squinting, and his face was no longer smiling; instead, it looked particularly ferocious.

Ji Rong felt both unfamiliar and frightened by Jiao Jue's appearance. She dared not call him "elder brother" anymore and shrank back, waiting for Jiao Jue's question.

The horned beast stood up, raised one claw holding the sea chart in front of Ji Rong's face, and grabbed Ji Rong's left side with the other claw. It lowered its head and asked in a low voice, "How did she die?"

Gu Qingqing darted between Jiao Jue and Ji Rong with a "whoosh," her legs trembling like leaves, her eyes filled with unwavering determination.

Ji Rong stared at the horn for a while and said, "Sister Qing, come to my side. The dragon is no ordinary person, so it doesn't matter if it knows everything."

"You're just helping me cover it up."

Gu Qingqing immediately jumped to the front of the cliff, using seven relatively rounded large rocks as cover. She then made hand seals with both hands and cast the "Illusory Shadow Technique".

"Jiaolong, let go of me, stand to the side, and watch carefully."

"Hoo," Ji Rong took a deep breath.

On her spiritual platform, the Dao Pill emitted a dazzling light;

Within the spiritual realm, a sapling with seven leaves swayed gently.

Beneath the Spirit Platform, the Spirit Lake suddenly expanded, making Ji Rong's belly bulge out;

Tree roots emerged from Ji Rong's hair, burrowed into the ground, and inserted into the rope-like spiritual veins below;

As the roots were released, the phantom of a dragon frolicked in the spiritual lake beneath the spiritual platform, emitting satisfied hisses.

"Did you hear that?" Ji Rong said. "She's very happy right now."

Jiaojue couldn't hear.

Ji Rong looked as if she had been parasitized by a tree, extremely strange, her body covered with roots, but Jiao Jue could not move.

He gazed at Ji Rong, feeling as if a faint call resonated within him;

He himself did not want to chop up the monster; he even wanted to rest under her drooping aerial roots.

This is the Ancestral Tree. Even though it parasitizes Ji Rong, who looks like a monster, it still has such a huge attraction for him. No wonder it was completely destroyed by those guys.

Ji Rong continued, "When she first came to me, things weren't going well. She only gave me a golden dragon scale."

The second time she came, she was near death, and she gave me the nautical chart.

As she spoke, Ji Rong pointed to her stomach and said, "At that time, her body completely disintegrated before our eyes, leaving only a gun."

I used a root to collect the soul of a dragon and let it reside within the root's tendrils.

With a low whistle, Jiao Jue raised a protective barrier with its claws, enclosing itself, Ji Rong, and Gu Qingqing within it.

His belly kept bulging, and his other paw rummaged in his mouth, eventually pulling out an old cloth bag.

He opened the bag and shook it a few times. A dragon scale with a faint luster fell to the ground, along with two pieces of broken wood.

Jiaojue lowered his head and pressed down on the old dragon scale that he wanted to fly over but was powerless to do so, and said in a muffled voice, "Is this what she gave you?"

Ji Rong glanced at it and replied, "Yes, but her piece of wood was attached to the dragon scales, and the dragon scales are brand new and not this big."

"Hahahaha!" Jiao Jue picked up the dragon scales and the two pieces of wood with its claws, and handed them to Ji Rong, saying, "Take them, they're yours."

Ji Rong closed her eyes and extended several roots, which firmly entwined it. Her spiritual lake surged and spiritual energy rose within her body.

The fine roots twisted out a channel, sending the scales along with the wood into the body.

“My son… Jue.” Perhaps it was because of the long time that had passed, or perhaps because Jiao Jue had never cherished it, although the dragon scale was large, the dragon soul within it was shattered into pieces.

Once inside her body, Ji Rong's third leaf supported it before it quickly merged with the previous illusory dragon, leaving only these three words and nothing else.

The broken piece of wood was carried by the roots to the bottom of Ji Rong.

Countless roots broke it down and integrated it into the trunk of the sapling. The buds inside seemed to sprout slightly. Ji Rong felt as if she had found support, and her eyelids could no longer be opened. She fell asleep comfortably.

The roots sprouted outwards and then burrowed into the ground.

Jiao Jue watched all this in surprise, and couldn't help but lean closer to Ji Rong's base, a feeling of returning home rising in Jiao Jue's heart.

He looked up warily at his surroundings, and let out a dragon's roar that was ancient and desolate, forming layers of blurry golden inscriptions that merged into the protective shield.

Gu Qingqing stretched happily, feeling a secretive urge to be seen, and hid under the drooping aerial roots.

Ji Rong was dreaming again. She seemed to be by the sea, growing on a reef on the shore. The water flow gave her strong roots, and the waves gently rolled up and down her branches.

She stretched out her tendrils and stirred them towards the water's edge. After a short while, she stirred out a three-headed dragon with four claws, which was holding onto her tendrils and staring at her.

"I remember there should be a three-headed dragon. Could it be that I miscounted, or is it actually this three-headed jiao?"

Thinking this, Ji Rong seemed to be in the mountains and forests again, with beasts lying beneath her. She pulled away a few branches hanging from the beasts' bodies.

The beast thought she was playing with it, so it turned its head, bit her root, pulled it down, and then let go.

The beast lowered its front body, arched its rear end, and bit the root again. Using the root as a springboard, it flipped its body over, broke the root, and exposed its fleshy belly, having a great time.

Ji Rong wandered through the dream, the images like glass reflecting the sun, dazzling and beautiful, yet fleeting and ephemeral as the light shifted.

The only constant was the sound of the waves crashing, which continued to echo in Ji Rong's ears.

Ji Zhuang, who had sown seeds with the Wu tribe, carried Feng Qing back, only to find that their home was covered by a huge, unfamiliar isolation barrier, which emitted a hazy yellow light but made it impossible to see inside.

Anxious and impatient, Ji Zhuang immediately flapped his wings. He took a deep breath, and frost-like clouds rose up beneath his feet.

Ji Zhuang activated his spiritual platform, his meridians bursting forth, and with one claw he pulled out one ice blade after another from the frost clouds beneath his feet, throwing them at the shield.

The cover remained still, but the inscription inside was somewhat broken where it had been cut.

Before long, Gu Qingqing leaped out from the weak spot and shouted, "Are you confused? Stay outside and guard the area. Don't let anything else get close."

He turned back to show his face and shouted, "Don't worry, she's still the same as before. Quickly put away that ice blade of yours, it's a waste."

"The same as before?" Ji Zhuang couldn't remember which way it was, but since Gu Qingqing was inside and his sister Ji Rong was probably alright, he felt relieved and waited with Feng Qing on the rocks outside the enclosure.

Ji Rong didn't know how long she had slept this time. When she woke up again, she saw Jiao Jue sleeping in front of her.

Her eyes darted around.

Hearing the commotion, Jiao Jue opened his eyes, squinted at Ji Rong with his red eyes, threw the sea chart under him onto Ji Rong's roots, and slapped Gu Qingqing, who was also lying under the roots, saying, "Fox, call her brother in, I'm leaving."

After saying that, Jiaojue removed the cover and flew away quickly.
