Chapter 51 A Joyful Reunion
Ji Rong carried Gu Qingqing around the cliff twice, and Gu Qingqing hugged Ji Rong's neck and screamed repeatedly.
Once they stopped on the cliff again, Ji Rong lay on the ground and looked herself over. She then shouted at Gu Qingqing with dissatisfaction, "Why am I so fat? What did you do to me? I can hardly fly anymore."
Gu Qingqing didn't even look up. Ji Rong's sudden awakening made her feel unreal, as if she were dreaming.
She grinned, revealing a set of white teeth, and sat on Ji Zhuang's lap, saying in a half-tentative, half-annoying tone, "What did I do to you? Are you blaming me for feeding you too well?"
Ji Rong had recovered her senses quite well, but she wasn't going to tolerate her. She immediately put her hands on her hips and said, "What do you mean?"
Gu Qingqing stomped one claw on Ji Zhuang's face and pointed the other at Ji Rong, accusingly saying, "Tell me, why did the spirit soup you made for me taste so awful back then?!"
Ji Rong looked at Gu Qingqing in shock and said, "Incomprehensible! You were lucky to have anything to eat back then. Let me tell you, you even ate scraps of spiritual materials."
That's all I have to say.
Ji Rong raised her head to the sky and shouted in a loud voice, "You've not only eaten scraps, but you've also eaten spirit fruit peels, spirit fruit pits, and water boiled with spirit herb roots."
Every time, you get to drink the good soup while my brother and I eat the scraps, and you still dare to complain about the food being bad.
"We have nothing to eat!" Ji Rong's saliva sprayed onto Gu Qingqing's face as she spoke.
The familiar actions and tone of voice finally made Gu Qingqing feel the reality.
She scratched her hind leg and hurriedly ran down to cover Ji Rong's mouth with her paw, saying, "I believe you, I believe you, don't say it, I'll lose face if someone hears it."
"No face? How can we have any face left?" Ji Rong couldn't help but purse her lips. She used her newly grown, unused paws to wipe her face and then examined it closely.
She counted them and was very satisfied; these claws were the same as her brother Ji Zhuang's—four in total.
"Huh? Where's my brother?" Ji Rong suddenly remembered and immediately called out.
“Your brother is here.” Gu Qingqing pointed to Ji Zhuang lying on the ground.
"Sister Qing, my dear Sister Qingqing, where are we now? What's going on?" Ji Rong belatedly realized that she was no longer on the reef island and felt uneasy.
She thought to herself that a lot of things must have happened while she was asleep.
"Let's go back first." Seeing Ji Rong wake up and look much better, Gu Qingqing felt half relieved. She then had a mischievous thought and grinned maliciously, "Let's go back first. And let's make it clear that you'll warm my bed tonight; if you don't, I won't tell you."
Ji Rong raised her head and ignored it.
But as she spread her wings, she suddenly realized she didn't know how to get back, and turned back with a fawning smile.
She lay down beside Gu Qingqing, hoisted Gu Qingqing onto her back, and said, "Sister Qing, I'll listen to you. Let's go back; if we don't go back soon, the sun will be setting."
She struggled to lift Ji Zhuang again. "Ouch, so heavy!"
Ji Rong cursed inwardly, "What did the fox feed my brother and me? Why are we so heavy? How are we going to fly?"
Gu Qingqing smiled contentedly. This was the joy of raising chicks. Her own chicks were the best. Look at their melodious voices, so pleasant to hear, and they even knew how to behave.
“You won’t leave, so I’ll take you today.” Gu Qingqing immediately revealed her fox form, wrapped a bird around her tail, and darted down the cliff.
"Ahhhhhh!" On the way home this time, besides the howling wind, there was also Ji Rong's vivid scream.
"That's wonderful." Gu Qingqing was delighted and quickened her pace.
As she approached the cave, Gu Qingqing suddenly stopped, stretching out her four tails and swatting away the sand.
She thought to herself that it was already this late, and Ah-Du must have brought over the evening meal, so she had to be mindful of her image.
"Cough cough cough," Ji Rong, who had been rudely put down, flapped her wings and stood up. She looked around at the desolate environment, pulled her feet out of a pile of unknown sticky stuff, and howled, "Fox, is this our home?!"
"Fox, how can you be so lazy? You didn't even dig a hole!"
Gu Qingqing's ears twitched, and she knew that Ji Rong had stepped on something indescribable. She immediately burst into laughter.
She laughed as she pointed at Ji Rong with her front paws, then used her two tails to curl up Ji Zhuang, saying, "Hahaha...do you know you stepped on...haha...what...hahaha...shit?"
"Aaaaaah...aaaaah!" Ji Rong screamed, "Gu Qingqing, you damned fox, I'm going to kill you!"
The furious scream startled Adu, who had grown much taller in the past five years. She rushed over and saw the lively Ji Rong.
Adu happily said to Ji Rong in the common language of the demon race, "Great! I didn't mishear, you've finally woken up too."
Ji Rong looked up at A Du, who was over eight feet tall, and pointed at herself in surprise, then at Gu Qingqing, who was laughing so hard she was rolling on the ground, and said, "You know me? And you know her too?"
“Of course,” Adu replied.
Ji Rong turned around and snatched Ji Zhuang away. She then slapped Gu Qingqing's fur with her paw and said to A Du, "Then take us home."
Adu helped Gu Qingqing up and took them to wash up. Unexpectedly, Erxiu also became restless at the edge of the pool. The two of them smeared feces everywhere with their claws and kicks.
As it grew darker, Ah-Du had no choice but to go back and get a piece of burlap to wash them.
This was the first time Adu had witnessed the terrifying power of cultivators from the outside world. Luckily, the place where they were rolling around hadn't been planted with crops yet, otherwise it would have been a complete waste.
Adu could also tell that they were playing childish games.
After they were washed, Adu said to them sternly, like an adult, "Now we're going back. You're not allowed to make any more noise, or else, or else..."
Adu pondered for a moment and said, "Otherwise, I will never bring you evening meals again!"
In fact, such threats are ineffective. If Adu doesn't comply, there are plenty of other shamans who would want to.
But Gu Qingqing and Ji Rong, one reluctant and the other unaware, both nodded obediently.
As Adu walked forward, Gu Qingqing suddenly stretched out her tail, grabbed Ji Zhuang, and ran ahead, leaving Ji Rong panting as she chased after her.
As they approached the cave entrance, Gu Qingqing turned around and mocked, "Little chubby chick, you can't catch me, hahaha! Adu, I want to eat."
Ji Rong followed behind, her steps heavy and her breath ragged, saying, "That wretched Gu Qingqing, she actually fed my brother and me so fat."
When the evening meal was served, Ji Rong took a sip and couldn't stop drinking.
It's so delicious!
Ji Rong opened her beak and poured the bowl into her mouth; then, she held the rim of the bowl with both hands, handed it to A Du's chest, and even looked up and grinned, making what she thought was a very cute expression.
Adu stared at Ji Rong, who had wide, beady eyes and a large, protruding beak with hooked, barbed teeth peeking out from under her protruding tongue. Combined with Ji Rong's fleshy face, she looked extremely fierce.
The witch girl, who had never fought before, trembled involuntarily. She bent down, picked up the earthenware jar containing the evening food, and handed it to Ji Rong, saying, "It's gone."
Ji Rong immediately put down the bowl, took the pottery jar, and, unwilling to give up, grabbed the jar and poured the contents into her mouth.
She actually managed to spill a few drops, which she caught with her tongue. Still dissatisfied, she complained to Gu Qingqing, "It's all your fault for fattening me up like this. Now I've developed a gluttonous habit."
