"It's not a date, and I don't know her well yet."
After saying goodbye to Shen Li, Chu Yang made a phone call to Han Dachun's home.
This guy had been waiting, and when he finally got the call, he was full of resentment.
"Still denying it? I heard you were picked up by a Rolls-Royce this afternoon, and a lot of people gathered around. It made Su Lingxue so angry she fainted. Tell me, who is that woman?!"
Chu Yang said, both amused and exasperated, "Damn, you're a guy, don't you think getting this angry crosses the friendship line?"
"I don't care, you promised to tutor me, so it's your fault for not showing up!" Han Dachun said angrily.
Knowing he was in the wrong, Chu Yang said, "Okay, okay, it's the girl who was in the Silver Angel car outside the lottery shop last time."
"It's her?!" Han Dachun exclaimed excitedly, "She's so beautiful! You actually managed to date her, you're unbelievable..."
"I already said it's not a date. Okay, it's too late today, I'll tutor you tomorrow." Chu Yang said and hung up the phone.
He had his bicycle at school, and luckily the night market wasn't far from home, so he was too lazy to take a taxi and just walked home.
As for the expenses he incurred playing with Shen Li today, he didn't ask Arno for reimbursement.
After all, Shen Nansheng had helped him make a lot of money.
Although he helped Shen Nansheng earn more, information is important in any era, but connections and channels are even more crucial.
At least for now, Chu Yang can only buy football lottery tickets and has no access to foreign betting platforms.
The next step is to see if we can bring this big shot on board.
Before long, Chu Yang arrived at his front door. He had just inserted the key into the lock and rubbed it a couple of times when the door opened.
Tony looked out the door and said with some disappointment, "You're back so early?"
Chu Yang laughed and said, "Mom, what are you expecting? Do you want me to give you a grandson tomorrow? Don't be silly."
"I'd like to," Tang Wenfang said as she let him in. "She's a good girl, beautiful and rich. If you have the chance, don't miss it. If she's sincere, it's not unacceptable if she marries into your family. We make a living with our looks and bodies, there's nothing shameful about it."
Chu Yang: "..."
Seeing her son's speechless expression, Tony Fang laughed and said, "Just kidding, how could I bear to let my precious son marry into my family?"
"Unless you pay more," Old Chu casually interjected as he emerged from the bathroom.
“Yes, yes, yes, I’m willing to spend more money,” Tony Fang laughed.
Chu Yang's lips twitched. He really wanted to slap the two million yuan in his pocket in front of them and show them what it meant to give more.
However, he knew his parents were just joking.
I chatted with them for a few more minutes and learned that Old Chu was going to play the suona (a traditional Chinese wind instrument) at a funeral in a village on the bustling Second Street the next morning.
"Mom and Dad, you should go to bed early. I'm going back to my room to study."
After Chu Yang went upstairs, the couple looked at each other.
"Have you noticed that our son has changed a lot lately?" Tang Wenfang said.
Chu Chunrong nodded: "I can see it. He's much more cheerful and confident than before, more mature and steady, and not impatient at all. Our child has grown up, and we should be happy!"
Tang Wenfang agreed, and then said, "He's just become more boastful. This child has always been smart and honest, how could he change so much all of a sudden?"
Chu Chunrong laughed heartily.
"But what if it's true?" Tang Wenfang suddenly said.
Chu Chunrong was taken aback: "What, really?"
"Didn't my son say he gambles on football, buys some kind of football lottery, and even bought a house? He'll be a multi-millionaire soon. What if it's true?" Tang Wenfang imagined boldly.
“If it’s true…” Chu Chunrong stroked his chin and pondered, “Then I won’t hold it against him for stealing my pack of cigarettes.”
"Get lost, we have to keep an eye on the kids who smoke."
"If he really becomes a multi-millionaire, I'll offer him cigarettes every day!"
"You're dreaming!"
"Ha ha……"
…
"Stop grinning like an idiot, there's a funeral procession ahead. Be serious, or you'll get beaten up."
The next morning during break time, Chu Yang took Han Dachun to the convenience store at the school gate.
To make up for standing him up last night.
Da Chun was overjoyed to be able to take and eat as much as he wanted, achieving complete snack freedom.
Upon hearing Chu Yang's words, Da Chun put away his big teeth, ate his ice cream, and added a touch of sorrow to his expression in preparation for the approaching funeral procession.
These days, cremation isn't practiced yet; people just carry their bodies to the nearby mountains for burial.
The procession, dressed in mourning clothes, moved slowly past amidst mournful drumming and weeping.
The drums and music began at the very back of the procession, with the suona (a type of double-reed horn) being the loudest.
Chu Chunrong was among them.
He wore a straw hat, with a suona (a traditional Chinese wind instrument) propped up to his lips, tilted to the sky, its sound soaring into the heavens with a magnificent presence.
As they passed the convenience store, Da Chun waved and greeted them.
Chu Chunrong responded by raising his suona (a traditional Chinese wind instrument) at them.
"Your dad is so handsome!" Da Chun exclaimed.
"What, you want to become my apprentice? The suona is not easy to learn; even just making a sound is difficult," Chu Yang said.
"If I don't get into university, I'll study this!" Da Chun seemed quite serious.
Chu Yang remained silent.
He recalled that in his previous life, Da Chun did not get into university and did learn the suona from Lao Chu, but unfortunately his talent was limited.
Once, while watching him practice, Chu Yang was almost sent away on the spot.
Later, when he couldn't learn it well, Da Chun switched to learning to play the gong. Playing the gong was easy to learn, and he was able to join the team to perform in a short time.
Although they earn little, they can still make ends meet.
Coming to his senses, Chu Yang patted his shoulder and said, "There's still time. Let's try our best, and we'll see what happens if we don't pass."
At this moment, the shop owner came over and asked, "Mr. Chu, is that your father?"
