Chapter 198 The Second Test

“My brothers are a bunch of reckless brutes who don’t know any better. You can make them do the hardest and most tiring work, treat them like animals. Keeping them alive is more useful than killing them.”

"Hengzi, are you fucking crazy? Where's your backbone?"

"I never knew you were such a spineless coward!"

"Shut up!" Zhou Xianheng roared angrily, his face covered in cold sweat.

Yun Zhiyi almost laughed, her eyes full of mockery.

She nodded. "You're right. Let them work in Qingshan too, and double the workload."

The last sentence was spoken to Fu Tingchen.

Fu Tingchen nodded and called over a few people to take away the burly men who were still shouting and struggling, leaving only Zhou Xianheng kneeling on the ground.

Yun Zhiyi picked up a pen and handed it to him, "Write."

Zhou Xianheng looked at the pen handed to him, his eyes filled with despair.

“Boss, our leader is just a brute. He was lucky enough to make some money to open a gambling den, but he can only afford to feed his men every day. I guarantee I’m more useful than him.”

Yun Zhiyi looked at him, who was still trying to protect the boss even at this point, and smiled wryly.

"It seems your boss is quite popular; you guys are very loyal."

After speaking, his tone turned cold.

"Once is too many, twice is too few, but not a third time. I don't have time to waste with you anymore. Let him come, or all your brothers come. Choose."

Zhou Xianheng's pupils contracted sharply, his gaze falling on the things on the table, and his hands trembled uncontrollably.

He opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something more.

After several attempts, he ultimately said nothing.

After a few moments of silence with his head bowed, he stood up, propped himself up on his knees, and walked toward the table with his lips tightly pressed together.

My hand trembled several times before I was able to pick up the brush and write a few lines of characters on the paper with weak, unsteady strokes.

"It's finished."

Yun Zhiyi glanced at the paper, then looked at him, a slight smile playing on her lips.

"He's a sensible fellow. He'll start working for me tomorrow. I happen to need a good coachman."

Upon hearing this, Fu Tingchen frowned slightly, then quickly relaxed, lowered his eyes, and asked, "Should I take the person back first, or leave them here?"

"Take him to Uncle Li and let him make the arrangements."

After saying that, he picked up the letter and got up to walk towards the main room.

Zhou Xianheng clenched his fists and could only keep his head down, filled with regret.

He regretted that he had been blinded by greed and tried to use Yun Zhiyi to climb the social ladder.

We've gained nothing and might even be wiped out in one fell swoop.

Little did he know then how many days and nights he would later be grateful for the choice he made.

Fu Tingchen looked at him, his brows furrowing unconsciously.

However, after thinking about it, he didn't say anything and just led his people out.
