Chapter 34 Yang Shuhuan brings people to the door

The rain drizzled for a whole day and night, and by noon it showed no sign of stopping.

After lunch, Ningyin was leaning against the window embroidering a butterfly-shaped sachet.

Today, she wore a light red pleated skirt with gold embroidery, the hem of which was spread out on the bed.

Like a blooming red peony, bright and beautiful.

Her cheeks, as white as agate, were radiant with a smile, like a fairy in a painting.

She was undoubtedly beautiful, and it's no wonder that both Xiao Xuan and Shen Yun couldn't forget her.

Ning Yin embroidered for a while, then felt a little tired, yawned, and put down her work.

"Suxin, if there are no patients today, close the door. I'd like to take a nap."

She called out to Su Xin outside, but received no response.

Instead, a loud commotion grew clearer, and Ning Yin hurriedly went out to check. She saw a person covered with a white cloth placed in the center of the room.

Just as Su Xin was about to argue with the other party, her hands were grabbed by several guards from the general's mansion.

"May I ask you all, are you here for medical treatment or to cause trouble?"

As soon as Ning Yin uttered those cold words, Zhou Fusheng rolled up his sleeves, about to speak.

But then the woman's eyes flickered and she snapped, "And you two, release my maid first, I'll handle this!"

Her eyebrows were slightly furrowed. She was already beautiful, but her assertive and aloof demeanor made her somewhat out of place with her surroundings.

The sinister and gloomy look in his eyes was like a sharp blade, piercing straight at the guard who had captured Su Xin.

The two men met Ning Yin's cold gaze and couldn't help but feel a little guilty.

Remembering how Ning Yin had taken good care of them at the General's Mansion, the two exchanged a glance and consciously let go of each other's hands.

Su Xin hurriedly ran to Ning Yin's side, and Ning Yin patted Su Xin's hand to reassure her.

"You killed someone and you're still so aggressive. Do you really think you're the King of Heaven?"

Zhou Fusheng, who was at the head of the group, started shouting. Yang Shuhuan, behind him, looked at Ning Yin with a smug expression, as if she was determined to win.

Ning Yin glanced past the two of them, but saw that a large group of people had already gathered in the courtyard, including about a dozen guards from the general's mansion.

Thinking back to the behavior of the grandfather and grandson last time, and Yang Shuhuan's show of force today, everything finally came together and it was indeed a conspiracy.

Ning Yin suddenly scoffed coldly, the veins on her forehead bulging faintly, as if she really wanted to push her to her death.

"Ningyin, you have nothing to say now. My grandmother was perfectly fine before, but after taking the medicine from you that day, her health has been deteriorating day by day."

"She died this morning, bleeding from all seven orifices. She hadn't taken any other medication during that time. Who else could it be but you!"

Zhou Fusheng, dressed in mourning clothes with a sorrowful expression, knelt down and lifted the white cloth on the ground.

Ning Yin looked down and saw that the old woman from last time had a dark face, blood flowing from her seven orifices, and purple lips, which were indeed symptoms of poisoning.

However, the medicine she prescribed was only traditional Chinese medicine for treating indigestion, which had no harmful effects on the human body.

Seeing Zhou Fusheng weeping bitterly on the ground, Ning Yin immediately squatted down and quickly checked the old woman's breathing and pulse with her hand, which were so weak that they were almost undetectable.

She then lifted the old woman's eyelids to examine her and found black spots on the whites of her eyes, confirming that she had been poisoned for a long time.

Based on her experience and the description in the medical book, the old woman had been poisoned with a drug from the Western Regions.

This poison is colorless and odorless; if taken in small amounts, it will not cause any discomfort in the short term.

However, if the dosage exceeds a certain level, then it is basically beyond saving.

Fortunately, Ningyin had just discovered that the old woman had not completely died, and if she did her best to save her, there was still a great chance of her being saved.

She knew that if she couldn't save the old woman today, Yang Shuhuan would definitely kill her.

She quickly recalled the antidote for this poison and was about to get up to get the silver needles.

But then an old man squatted down beside her. He looked like a wise and venerable man and began to examine the old woman's condition.

The old man's diagnostic method was no different from Ning Yin's, except that he also leaned closer to smell the old woman's scent.

After a while, he stood up, stroked his beard, and said to the crowd, "In my opinion, this man has been poisoned with a unique poison from the Western Regions called Soul-Severing Powder. The poison has now invaded his internal organs, and I'm afraid even a god would have difficulty saving him."

After the old man finished speaking, someone raised a question: "How did Doctor Ning come to have poison from the Western Regions?"

Listening to the cacophony of voices, Ning Yin stood up and calmly replied, "This old gentleman is indeed very knowledgeable. Just as he said, the old woman was indeed poisoned by a unique poison from the Western Regions. This kind of poison is extremely rare, and in the entire Great Qi, it is probably only possessed by certain ministers who have dealings with the Western Regions! Ordinary people have never even seen it, let alone used it to harm people!"

When Ning Yin said this, she looked directly at Yang Shuhuan, already having the answer in her heart.

"Western Region poison? How could that be? Fusheng's grandmother only took the medicine prescribed by Sister Ningyin!"

Yang Shuhuan sensed everyone's gaze and quickly denied it, then gave Zhou Fusheng on the ground a wink.

Zhou Fusheng hurriedly embraced the old woman's body and burst into tears. His crying temporarily stopped everyone's doubts, and they all felt sorry for this filial grandson.

"How pitiful, he died so young, without even seeing his grandson get married."

Some people felt sorry for Zhou Fusheng and patted him on the shoulder, advising him to take it easy.

"Grandmother, you died such a terrible death..."

With a few tears on his face that looked like they were forced out, he pointed his finger at Ning Yin's nose and scolded her angrily.

"I say there are no female healers in this world, just swindlers and murderers. You poisoned my grandmother, yet you brought in an accomplice, claiming it was some kind of poison from the Western Regions!"
