Chapter 25 The Lord is Here

Chapter 25 The Benefactor is Here

Donghai Dragon City is the second address Huo Gan gave to Yun Chen.

Yun Chen had only heard of the sea but had never seen it.

When she saw the endless sea, she was shocked.

The sky and the sea meet, vast and boundless.

The sunlight makes the sea water blue and green like jade.

The sea breeze picked up flower-like water droplets from the vast ocean and gently fell on the fine white sand.

After sitting on the beach for a whole day, Yun Chen reluctantly walked towards the city.

She thought, if the Lord were here, she could watch the sea every day.

She found the place according to the address. It was a remote mansion. Flowers and vines covered the walls and extended all the way to the plaque on the gate. Yun Chen could only see two words:

"Sparrow".

Yun Chen knocked on the door, introduced himself and the reason for his visit.

There was no guard at the gate, only a servant with a soft voice. He went to report and then led Yun Chen to the front hall.

As we walked into the courtyard, we saw shady trees, birds singing among the flowers, and kittens, puppies, and rabbits running and playing everywhere.

Occasionally, a few servants would pass by Yun Chen and would nod and greet him kindly.

For some reason, after searching for his benefactor for so many years, Yun Chen had such a strong premonition for the first time.

Maybe it's right here, today.

The Lord is here.

Yun Chen started to get a little nervous, and his palms started to sweat.

As the servant walked into the front hall, he saw a tall young man standing with his hands behind his back to Yun Chen, staring at a painting of "Summer Snow and Dead Leaves" on the wall of the hall in a daze.

Looking at the broad-shouldered figure, Yun Chen felt his eyes moist.

She was not thinking about how hard and tiring his life had been in the past five years, but she was thinking about that year when it rained heavily and she hugged her mother in despair, and the day when he descended from heaven like a god.

Unfortunately, she couldn't see the god's face clearly through the curtain of the sedan chair, and only saw a jade pendant hanging around his waist.

The pattern of the jade pendant was deeply imprinted in her mind. She carved it on a silver coin and wore it day and night.

Thinking of the favor he had received that year, Yun Chen couldn't help but want to cry.

However, the next moment, when the tall young man turned around, Yun Chen forced back the tears that were about to burst out.

She walked out without even looking back.

Yan Shijiu happily called her from behind: "Miss Yun!"

Seeing Yun Chen walking like a ghost, Yan Shijiu quickly took two steps forward with his Qing Kung Fu, landed in front of her and blocked her way.

Looking at Yun Chen's face, which was darker than the bottom of a pot, Yan Shijiu smiled with her beautiful crescent eyes:

"Aren't you looking for the benefactor who saved your mother? I did save a woman with a child many years ago. Why don't you make sure it's me?"

Looking at the sunny face in front of him that was extremely inconsistent with his body shape, Yun Chen was very conflicted. In the end, he took out the silver coin from his neck and handed it to Yan Shijiu.

The silver coin was something Yun Chen kept with her day and night, and it still carried the residual warmth of her body. Yan Shijiu did not reach out to take it, but just leaned closer to look at the silver coin.

Yun Chen carefully observed Yan Shijiu's expression. The latter looked at him for a while and said thoughtfully:

"The plum blossoms and the broken moon painting is mine, but I can't remember where I got it."

Yun Chen was stunned. He didn’t expect that the pattern of the token really belonged to Yan Shijiu!

She was still a little skeptical, or rather unwilling to believe, so she asked:

"Then do you remember where you buried my mother on the day you rescued her?"

"Burial?" Yan Shijiu asked in surprise.

Yun Chen's face darkened again immediately, and he turned and walked away again, angrily saying:

"Big liar! Using other people's stories of repaying favors and receiving favors as a joke and impersonation! Shameless!"

Seeing Yun Chen was really anxious, Yan Shijiu quickly chased after him and apologized:

"I was wrong, I was wrong! Miss Yun, please don't be angry. I really didn't know your mother had already... Alas, I really didn't expect such a great favor. Otherwise, even if you gave me a hundred times the desire to steal your heart, I wouldn't dare to pretend to be you!"

Are you thinking about her evil intentions?

After hearing this, Yun Chen's face flushed with shame and anger, and he lowered his voice and gritted his teeth and said:

"Don't call me Miss Yun! If others knew I was a woman, how could I continue to protect my benefactor?"

Yan Shijiu hurried over with a playful smile, "Okay, okay, my lovely Xiaoyun brother, don't be angry, sit down and have a cup of tea before leaving, okay?"

Yun Chen spat at him and rolled his eyes.

Yan Nineteen said with a smile:

"Although I'm not your benefactor, I am indeed a gentleman who saves people from danger. Otherwise, how could we meet today? You are repaying a favor, and I am seeking a favor. God has destined us to meet. This is a match made in heaven, isn't it?"

"What a heresy! You...you are talking nonsense! If you keep talking about 'good marriage', I will, I will..." Yun Chen was so angry that his ears turned red.

Yan Shijiu, however, was still not serious. He deliberately imitated her words and teased her: "You, you, you, what about it?"

Perhaps it was because Yan Shijiu knew that she was a daughter, so when she met him, she couldn't pretend to be her usual carefree masculine self.

After holding it in for a long time, Yun Chen angrily said, "If you keep talking nonsense, I will use the Hidden Moon Sword to beat you so hard that even your dog won't recognize you!"

"Ha ha ha ha--"

It was rare to see Yun Chen unable to maintain his serious guarding expression and blushing in anger, Yan Shijiu couldn't help but burst out laughing.

As he was laughing, he suddenly stopped, as if he thought of something. His eyes swept over Yun Chen's silver coins again, and his eyes darkened.

"What's your sword called?" he asked.

"Hidden Moon Sword! Watch your mouth, or I'll beat you with the Hidden Moon Sword!"

Yan Shijiu seemed to be thinking about something, and then he smiled:

"Come on, I'll take you to see my cats and dogs. They're so rare! Consider this my apology to you, okay?"

No girl can resist the attraction of small animals, and Yun Chen is no exception.

She remembered the furry little rabbit she saw when she entered the door. It was so cute and she really wanted to touch it.

Seeing the hesitation in her eyes, Yan Shijiu simply pulled her sleeve and said, "Come on, come on—I'll take you to see—"

Yan Shijiu likes small animals. The backyard of his Yanque Hall is connected to a small hill, and he raises many cats, dogs, rabbits, squirrels, raccoons... and two sika deer.

It seemed that he was the only owner of the house, along with a few guards and servants. Apart from them, there was not a single female member of the family to be seen.

He lived such a carefree life, which was very inconsistent with his identity as a big salt merchant.

In the past, Yun Chen always felt that his smile was too happy and too fake, but after spending half a day with him, she found that this guy was really heartless and unruly.

He is also very talkative and likes to tease her.

Yun Chen was puzzled. "How could someone as carefree as you be involved in business and compete for profit?"

He held up a rabbit's ear and smiled:

"If I don't make some money, how can I support these little guys?"

What he said seemed to make sense.

At this time, a puppy jumped into Yun Chen's arms, bit her belt, twisted its round body and pulled it back hard, growling in dissatisfaction.

She held the puppy's chin and gently pulled out the belt. The puppy immediately barked in dissatisfaction.

Seeing this, Yan Shijiu smiled and said, "Animals, like humans, have their own personalities. I feel like you're just like a puppy."

Yun Chen raised his eyebrows, "Are you scolding me?"

Yan Shijiu asked back, "Guarding the house and protecting the master, loyal and devoted, skilled in martial arts, brave and fearless—do you think you are like a loyal little dog?"

Yun Chen thought about it for a while, and it seemed to be true, but he also felt like he was being called a "dog". For a moment he didn't know whether to be happy or angry.

Yan Shijiu looked at Yun Chen's face. When she was not wearing the guard uniform, she looked less fierce.

His big eyes were without any calculation, as clear and pure as the deer in his yard.

He couldn't help but feel moved, raised his hand to touch her head, and said with a smile:

"A cute little loyal dog like you would be a treasure to anyone. If it were me, I would definitely keep you chained up tightly. Huo Gannian actually let you out to find your benefactor, and he even tracked you down to my lair right away. I don't know if he did it intentionally or not."

Yun Chen dodged Yan Shijiu's hand unhappily, "Young Master is not a stingy person. He is sincerely helping me to seek a favor. Don't frame him."

Yan Shijiu curled his lips and said nothing, then pointed at the various animals in the yard and grinned:

"Which animal do you think Huo Gannian resembles? How about that long-eared mouse? And what about that anteater over there? Do they look alike?"

Yun Chen looked around carefully and pointed at a large tabby cat basking in the sun with a cold face and said, "I think the young master looks like it."

Seeing Yun Chen pointing at him, the big cat narrowed its eyes, meowed unhappily, and looked indifferent.

Yun Chen suddenly felt that they were more alike.

Yan Shijiu smiled and said, "That's great, that's great. Cats and dogs are natural enemies, fighting every day. I love watching them!"

"Why are you so happy, Yan Nineteen? You look exactly like it—"

Looking in the direction of Yun Chen's finger, I saw a shoebill standing there stupidly, looking very funny.
