Chapter 10 Stealing Daddy's Fingerprints to Save Mommy
Murong Chen froze upon hearing his father's voice.
But he quickly regained his composure.
It was clearly Daddy who lied to him first, so what is he afraid of?
He immediately snorted and said, "I'm going to find all the black cards my great-grandfather gave me and give them to Mommy!"
Mommy...
Upon hearing those two words, Murong Ting immediately thought of Kong Wange abandoning her child and running away back then.
He pressed down on his throbbing temples and gritted his teeth, saying, "I'll tell you one more time, you don't have a mother. She perished in a fire five years ago, and the grass on her grave is already three feet tall!"
After saying that, he stepped forward, grabbed the bunch of messy cards from his hand, and strode away!
Every step he took was tinged with obvious anger.
Murong Chen stood there, stunned.
He had never seen his father look like this in his lifetime.
Even when he was extremely angry with himself, he never seemed to lose his temper...
What triggered this?
He immediately shouted at Murong Ting's retreating figure, "You're lying! Mommy isn't dead! And that black card was given to me by my great-grandfather, not given to you! What right do you have to take it? Is there no justice in this world?!"
Murong Ting's back stiffened, then he turned around and strode over, coldly saying, "Heavenly Justice, your father is Heavenly Justice!"
After saying that, he slammed the door shut: "Go to your room and reflect on your actions."
He went downstairs and into his bedroom. His temples started throbbing again; he needed to rest for a while.
Murong Ting lay down, completely unaware that a small tail had appeared outside his house.
Kong Chi hid behind the cabinet in the entryway.
Upon seeing Murong Ting return to his room, he hurriedly went to the study.
The study was extremely quiet.
He walked around and discovered a secret room in the back suite.
He quickly and gently knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" Kong Wange's muffled voice came from inside very quickly.
"Mommy, it's me." Kong Chi lowered his voice.
Inside the secret room, Kong Wange was stunned for a moment, then quickly approached the door and whispered, "Chi Bao, where did you go just now? What are you doing here?"
Hearing Kong Wange's worried voice, Kong Chi said, "Mommy, are you alright? I'm here to rescue you."
"Go back quickly, baby. Mommy is fine. This is a fingerprint lock. You can't open it. Mommy will figure it out herself."
"Mommy, wait for me, I'll be back in a bit."
"Chi Bao, Chi Bao!" Kong Wange called anxiously, but there was no response from outside.
Kong Wange was anxious and panicked. If her son were to get involved again, the consequences would be unimaginable!
After Kong Chi slipped out, he found a small piece of tape in the living room and then carefully made his way to Murong Ting's room.
If we can get that bad uncle's fingerprints, we can save Mommy!
The master bedroom was completely silent.
The tall man was lying on the bed. Perhaps he was too tired today, because he fell asleep as soon as he closed his eyes.
Kong Chi crept closer.
When he reached the bedside, he frowned slightly.
This bad uncle is sleeping, but why does he keep his hands under the covers and cover himself up so tightly?
He reached out his little hand and slowly lifted the blanket.
The man's long, slender fingers were visible, and Kong Chi's eyes lit up.
He took out the prepared tape, gently stuck it on his thumb, and then tore it off!
With a tearing sound, a complete fingerprint was stuck to the tape.
Kong Chi nodded in satisfaction.
Just then, the man frowned.
Kong Chi's breath hitched, but thankfully the man didn't wake up; he just turned over.
Kong Chi felt relieved and prepared to leave.
But then I thought, what if that fingerprint isn't from my thumb?
It's safer to stick them all on.
Thinking about it, he then carefully and gently glued the man's other fingers as well.
After finishing gluing the last little finger, Kong Chi felt a great weight lifted off his shoulders.
Everything's done! He was about to get up and walk out.
Unexpectedly, the man's chilling voice rang out the next second, "What are you doing?"
In an instant, all the hairs on the back of Kong Chi's neck stood on end!
He slowly turned around and saw that the irritable middle-aged man behind him had sat up at some point and was now facing away from the moonlight, looking at him with a gloomy expression.
He put the hand holding the tape behind his back and said nervously, "I...I..."
Murong Ting frowned and said, "I told you to stay in the room and reflect, not to wander around freely."
Um?
Has the bad uncle mistaken his son for someone else again?
His mind raced, and he lowered his head, deciding to play along. He put on a pitiful act and said, "I...I'm scared. I'm all alone in the room, and every time I close my eyes, all I see is you yelling at me..."
This time, it was Murong Ting's turn to be stunned.
Is he really that fierce?
Has it already traumatized this kid?
A rare pang of guilt welled up inside him: "I'll try to talk to you less in the future, but only if you stop thinking about such trivial things."
Kong Chi's attitude was excellent: "Okay, okay, I will definitely be obedient and well-behaved from now on, and I will never make you angry."
Murong Ting had prepared a lot of things to say, but he didn't expect the kid to admit his mistake so well this time, which left him speechless.
With a wave of his hand, he said sullenly, "Alright, go back to sleep."
Kong Chi felt as if he had been granted a pardon, and he turned and ran away in a hurry.
Murong Ting watched his retreating figure and sighed.
He often handles hundreds of contracts a day, but that's nothing compared to how exhausting his little devil, his wife, is.
Kong Chi carried the fingerprints and ran all the way to the study, trying all the fingerprints without thinking.
When I tried the middle finger of my right hand, I heard a "click" and the door opened!
Kong Wange never expected that her son would actually get Murong Ting's fingerprints.
Upon seeing the child, she quickly hugged him tightly: "How are you? Did you get caught?"
Kong Chi shook his head sensibly: "No, Mommy, let's run away quickly!"
