Chapter 134 Kong Wange, who are you hiding in your room?
Kong Wange took a deep breath, let go of her hand, and smiled awkwardly: "You're overthinking it. I'm not hiding anyone."
Murong Ting scoffed coldly: "That's for the best."
After saying that, he strode into the room.
Kong Wange's heart was in her throat; she could only hope that Chi Bao was well hidden and wouldn't be discovered by him.
Murong Ting went inside and first searched around, but found no one.
He frowned, then quietly walked towards the bed.
The next second, he lifted the lid under the bed—it was empty. Then he opened the wardrobe, and it was still empty.
At this moment, Murong Chen also caught up. Kong Wange was followed by two adorable children, and her heart was pounding with anxiety.
There seems to be nowhere left for someone to hide in this room.
They didn't know where Chi Bao could hide.
Just then, Murong Ting fixed his gaze on the open window.
It was a single-story house. He leaned out of the window and looked out. It was a quiet alley with a few pedestrians riding bicycles passing by occasionally. Nothing else seemed out of the ordinary.
Behind them, Kong Wange and the two children stared wide-eyed. Could it be that Chi Bao jumped out the window and ran away?
Murong Ting thought for a moment, took a long stride, and prepared to jump out to take a look as well. Murong Chen immediately exclaimed "Ah!"
Murong Ting paused, turned his head and looked at his son with an annoyance: "What are you yelling about?"
Murong Chen said awkwardly, "Daddy, there's a big python in the yard. Do you want to go take a look?"
"You look like a giant python to me." Murong Ting rolled his eyes, glanced out the window again, but didn't follow him out.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Kong Wange stepped forward, her face turning cold: "Murong Ting, who are you looking for by searching everywhere? I've already told you, there's no one hiding in my clinic."
Murong Ting casually replied, "I'm not looking for anyone, I'm looking for clothes."
Kong Wange: "..."
She always underestimated just how shameless that bastard was!
She took a deep breath and said, "The clothes are hanging right by the door, can't you see them? If you want to change, then change quickly and leave!"
Murong Ting glanced at her, then stepped forward and closed the door.
Kong Wange breathed a slight sigh of relief and whispered to the two children, "Do you know where Chi Bao went after going out the window?"
Kong Ran whispered from the side, "Mommy, don't worry, Xiao Chichi will be fine. We should hurry up and send Uncle Zha away."
Murong Chen echoed, "That's right, Mommy!"
Kong Wange patted the two children's heads and nodded.
A short while later, Murong Ting came out after changing his clothes.
Surprisingly, this man didn't look out of place wearing Uncle Zhang's clothes.
He managed to make a simple old man's undershirt look elegant and refined.
It's a pity that it's too short.
Kong Wange looked away: "I've changed my clothes, can you leave now?"
Murong Ting glanced at Murong Chen and deliberately said, "You, come with me."
Murong Chen shook his head: "No, I want to stay and eat with Mommy."
Murong Ting readily agreed, "Alright, then I'll stay too."
Kong Wange: "?"
She looked at Murong Ting and said, "Chenbao is my son, it's only right that he stays. What is your relationship with me? Please leave gracefully, thank you."
Murong Ting looked at her with a puzzled expression: "What do you mean?"
Kong Wange rolled her eyes and said succinctly, "Get lost!"
Surprisingly, Murong Ting wasn't angry. He nodded and said, "Alright, then I'll leave?"
After saying that, he calmly walked out of the clinic.
Murong Chen and Kong Ran were both somewhat incredulous: "Daddy's gone just like that?"
Kong Wange watched his retreating figure, lost in thought.
The food had been prepared long ago and was currently on the table covered with a lid.
Kong Wange led the two little ones into the house and put a piece of food on Murong Chen's plate: "Chenbao, come on, eat more. This is a new dish that Mommy made. Try it and see how it is."
"Mommy, let's go find Brother Chi first and bring him back to eat together," Murong Chen said, clinging to the table with wide eyes.
Kong Wange said confidently, "Wait and see. Given how cunning your father is, he might just launch a surprise attack!"
Sure enough, just as Murong Chen put the food in his mouth, Murong Ting came back again!
He pushed the door open, his eyes scanning the surroundings like a machine gun, but found nothing amiss. He coughed lightly, as if to say, "Eating?"
Murong Chen and Kong Ran: "..."
The two little ones exchanged a glance, both seeing in each other's eyes the admiration for their mother's uncanny foresight.
Kong Wange's eyes crinkled as she asked with perfect timing, "Oh my, didn't Young Master Ting leave? Why are you back so soon?"
Murong Ting touched his nose and said, "My stomach hasn't been feeling well lately, and I don't feel comfortable eating takeout. After thinking it over, I decided it would be better to have something hot at your place. Don't worry, I'll pay for the meal."
As he spoke, he slapped a black gold card on the table.
Kong Wange sneered: "What a coincidence, even if there's money, there's none for you. I didn't do anything extra."
"It's okay, I can share with Xiao Chen, right?" He said, giving his son a meaningful look.
Murong Chen was very blunt: "Daddy, I'm not good enough for myself..."
Before he could finish speaking, Murong Ting plopped down next to him.
Murong Chen: "?"
Does his opinion matter?
After Murong Ting sat down, he found the dining table unusually quiet.
He paused slightly, then said, "Speak freely, just like you're at home! Say whatever you want!"
How could he discover the clues if he didn't listen to them?
"Whether we tell or not is none of your business. Just eat your food." Kong Wange rolled her eyes.
Murong Ting figured that eating might liven up the atmosphere, so he took the lead and picked up a piece of green bamboo shoot with his chopsticks.
Seeing him pick up his chopsticks, the two little ones looked at each other and started eating as well.
Murong Ting's original intention was to extract information from the table, but after taking a bite, he was instantly captivated.
Damn, it seems like this woman's cooking skills have improved again?
He subconsciously picked up another piece of food with his chopsticks.
And so it went, one bite of vegetables, one bite of rice, one bite of vegetables, one bite of rice.
Before he knew it, he had finished the whole bowl of rice.
During the process, he completely forgot about finding clues or anything unusual.
It wasn't until there wasn't a single grain of rice left in the bowl that he realized he seemed to have forgotten something...
But now that Kong Wange is about to clear the table, it seems unreasonable not to leave.
Murong Ting took a deep breath and asked bluntly, "Kong Wange, who jumped out of the window just now? What secrets do you have, and what did you do to Xiao Chen?"
Kong Wange was baffled: "What secrets could I possibly have? Xiao Chen is my child. Do you think I would harm him?"
"Don't steer the conversation off-topic. I mean, Xiao Chen's behavior is off. Ever since you came back, Xiao Chen has become sometimes obedient and sometimes mischievous, sometimes clever and sometimes foolish. Can you say that this has nothing to do with you?"
Kong Wange: "..."
She hadn't expected that Murong Ting still had a brain.
Seeing that she didn't speak, Murong Ting took a step closer, staring intently at her: "Don't think that just because someone is covering for you, I won't find out anything. Kong Wange, I will uncover your secret sooner or later."
