Chapter 137 Murong Hao's Revenge

Chapter 137 Murong Hao's Revenge

The ground in the warehouse yard is covered with discarded steel bars, and a slight mishap could result in a tire puncture.

Just then, Murong Ting's phone rang.

Murong Ting and Kong Wange exchanged a glance.

Kong Wange's expression was full of tension.

Murong Ting gave her a reassuring look and pressed speakerphone.

"You've arrived." The kidnapper's tone was no longer as ferocious as before, but rather smug.

Murong Ting looked out of the car at the abandoned building not far away: "Where is my son?"

A soft chuckle came from the other end: "If you want to know, come in."

"Who are you? I'll give you any amount of money you want, just don't hurt my son."

"You'll find out about these issues once you're inside," the kidnapper said in a sinister voice. "But listen carefully: only you can come here by yourself. If I see you bringing any extra help, don't blame me for being ruthless."

After saying that, the kidnapper hung up the phone.

Beside her, Kong Wange frowned and said, "It's too dangerous for you to go alone. Shall I go with you?"

Murong Ting shook his head: "The kidnapper used a voice changer, so he's probably someone we know. Since he only let me in alone, just to be safe, you stay here with the child and wait. I'll go check first."

Kong Wange also heard what the kidnapper said. Although she was worried about Murong Ting, she didn't dare to risk the child's life after hearing what the kidnapper said, so she could only act according to the situation.

Murong Ting held the phone and pushed open the car door.

Kong Wange's heart tightened, and she subconsciously said, "Murong Ting."

Murong Ting turned to look at him.

The man's tall figure blocked the sunlight behind him, casting dappled shadows on the ground.

Kong Wange's throat moved slightly, and after a long while, she said in a deep voice, "Be careful in everything."

Murong Ting nodded slightly: "Don't worry, even if something happens to me, I won't let anything happen to my son."

He then turned and strode toward the abandoned factory.

Kong Wange watched his retreating figure, her gaze following him intently, her heart pounding with anxiety.

No one noticed that Kong Ran and Murong Chen behind them exchanged a hand gesture, and then Kong Ran secretly opened the car door, quietly got out of the car, and, under the cover of the bushes, crept into the factory.

...

As soon as Murong Ting entered the factory, he was met with a chilling aura.

The phone rang at that moment; it was a text message.

Clicking on it revealed three words: "Go up."

Murong Ting knew that the other person must be watching him from somewhere, but he looked around and couldn't see anyone.

He frowned and cautiously went upstairs.

It wasn't until he reached the fifth floor that he realized the entire fifth floor was an empty space.

Kong Chi was tied to the innermost pillar, his mouth was wrapped with tape, and he couldn't speak.

Beside him stood a man in black wearing a baseball cap, holding a knife to Kong Chi's neck.

Upon seeing Murong Ting, he smiled wickedly and said, "As expected, father and son have a deep bond. You arrived quite quickly."

The man slowly raised his head, revealing his face beneath the brim of his hat.

Murong Ting's eyes narrowed, his voice turning cold: "Murong Hao, it's you."

"That's right, it's me. You didn't expect that, did you, my dear cousin?"

Kong Chi heard the sound and struggled desperately, but he couldn't break free.

Seeing Kong Chi, who looked exactly like Xiao Chen, struggling, Murong Ting felt as if his heart was being torn apart.

All of Xiao Chen's previous unusual behavior now has a reasonable explanation.

This may not be their first meeting, but it is the first time the son has met him and his father as Kong Chi.

Never before had he known more clearly that this was his son, and he could not allow him to be harmed!

"Xiao Chi, don't be afraid, Daddy's here to save you," he said, trying to comfort Kong Chi.

Xiao Chi.

This shout immediately brought tears to Kong Chi's eyes, as large as beans.

Did Mommy and Daddy confess? Did Daddy recognize me?

He twisted his little body, trying desperately to respond to his father, but could only whimper softly, unable to utter a single word.

Murong Ting felt even more heartbroken. He turned around and looked at Murong Hao with an aura as cold as frost: "You can just say what you want. Don't hurt the child."

Murong Hao ignored the details of how Murong Ting addressed his son, and toyed with the knife in his hand: "So, from what my cousin is saying, you'll give me whatever I want?"

Murong Ting took a deep breath: "How much money do you want? Just name your price. As long as I can do it, I'll give it to you."

Murong Hao scoffed, "You think I want money? Ha! You sent my dad to prison. Now, wherever I go, I'm a drowning dog that everyone beats up. What use is money to me? Do you know how I've lived since my dad was sentenced? Nobody respects me. Everyone laughs at me. I'm living such a miserable life. Why can you be living a carefree life outside?!"

As he spoke, his face twisted into a ferocious expression, and his tone turned chilling: "Murong Ting, what I want isn't money, what I want is for you to taste the bitterness of losing a loved one!"

As he spoke, he plunged his knife towards Kong Chi!

"Murong Hao!" Murong Ting called out to him, his eyes narrowing.

He exhaled and said slowly, "Murong Hao, have you thought this through? Once you take this step, there's no turning back. Now is the best opportunity for you to make demands of me. I promise you, I will satisfy whatever you ask and I won't call the police."

Murong Hao curled his lips: "It seems you really care about your precious son."

He pretended to think for a while, then slowly said, "How about this? If you want your son to live, it's simple. Kneel down for me. As long as you kneel like a dog and please me, I'll let your son go."

Murong Ting's eyes were gloomy, and he remained silent.

Murong Hao felt a chill run down his spine as he was stared at by those eyes.

He had been suppressed by Murong Ting for over twenty years, and deep down he had become accustomed to the fear of such gazes.

He gritted his teeth: "Don't look at me like that! You won't kneel, huh? You forced me to do this!"

After saying that, he slashed his knife down towards Kong Chi—

"etc."

Murong Ting suddenly spoke.

Murong Hao remained silent, his gaze shifting to Murong Ting, the blade still pressed against Kong Chi's cheek.

The next second, Murong Ting slowly knelt down.

A cloud of dust rose up.

When he saw that he had actually knelt down, Murong Hao couldn't believe it for a moment.

After a long while, he burst out laughing: "Hey, my good cousin, I never thought you'd be in this situation! The coward you used to think you were, the cousin who was always outdone by you since childhood, is now riding on your head. How does that feel?"

Not far away, Kong Chi looked at Murong Ting's kneeling body, and tears streamed down her face.

He never expected that his father would go to such lengths for him.

Murong Ting glanced at Kong Chi and gave him a reassuring look. Although he was kneeling, there was no sign of submission or fear in his eyes. He calmly looked at Murong Hao and said, "I did as you said. Release them!"

Murong Hao grinned wickedly, turned around, pulled out another dagger from his body, and threw it in front of him: "Tsk, cousin, what's the rush? I haven't had enough fun yet. You've already knelt down, who are you trying to impress with that high and mighty attitude? How about this, you stab yourself, and I'll release your son after you're done, how about it?"
