Chapter 303 The Man Recuperating
Kong Wange took the wide-brimmed hat from Zhou Qiao and said with a smile, "Okay, I understand, thank you Qiaoqiao."
Zhou Qiao curled her lips and said, "Sister Kong, it's too formal for you to thank me. You go ahead and do your work. I'll be preparing medicine in the storage room behind the side room. If you need anything, just go to the storage room to find me."
"Okay, I've got it." Kong Wange nodded to her.
Zhou Qiao gave her the tools she needed for fertilizing, and before leaving, she left a large pot of water for her to drink. Then she left, turning back to look at her several times.
After Zhou Qiao left, Kong Wange slowly exhaled and began fertilizing.
Two hours later, one-third of the task was completed.
Kong Wange got up from the medicinal herb field and found that the fertilizer in the bucket was almost gone.
Thinking of asking Zhou Qiao for some more fertilizer, she took down the fertilizer tools and turned back to the courtyard.
Zhou Qiao said she prepared medicine in the storage room behind the east wing of Baicaotang.
After entering, she naturally went straight to the east wing.
She thought the back of the side room was the storage room, but when she went in, she found that there was a hidden world behind the side room—at least four or five rooms in a winding path.
Kong Wange couldn't tell which room was the storage room for a while, so she could only try to push open the doors one by one and look inside.
The first two doors were locked, but when we pushed open the third door, it creaked open.
Kong Wange paused slightly, then went inside.
This is a rather rustic room; there's a small living room outside and a bedroom inside.
Kong Wange had only taken a few steps when she realized something was wrong.
This should be an ordinary side room, not a storage room.
She wanted to leave, but as she turned around, her gaze inadvertently swept over something, and she suddenly stopped in her tracks.
Behind a screen not far away, a figure, seemingly invisible, was shirtless, appearing to be wrapping bandages around his body.
Judging from the muscle definition and bone structure, the other person should be... a man.
The screen was semi-transparent, and through it one could see that the other person had very fair skin yet possessed great strength. Their movements were crisp and efficient, clearly indicating that they were used to bandaging themselves.
In that brief moment of distraction, she was noticed by the person behind the screen.
"Who?" The other person suddenly stopped and asked in a low voice.
Kong Wange paused for a moment before realizing what had happened and quickly said, "I'm sorry, I went to the wrong room. I'll leave now."
She turned to leave, but as soon as she moved, she suddenly felt a chill on her neck.
Her hair stood on end, and she abruptly stopped moving.
What was pressed against her neck was a knife.
She had her back to the other person, so she couldn't see their face, but she could feel a chilling aura surrounding her.
The blade was tinged with a murderous aura, but Kong Wange tried her best to remain calm and said casually, "Handsome, it's our first meeting, there's no need to resort to knives and guns, is there?"
The man leaned close, his voice languid yet dangerous: "Stop talking nonsense and turn around."
Kong Wange found the voice somewhat familiar, but couldn't quite place it.
With a knife to her neck, she had no choice but to obey him and slowly turn around.
The moment their eyes met, Kong Wange fell silent.
The person in front of me had a devilishly handsome face, and his long, narrow peach blossom eyes were unforgettable.
Staring at the man before her, Kong Wange uttered after a long pause, "Master Qin?"
On the other side, Qin Feng was also slightly taken aback.
"So it was you." He looked at her for a moment, then smiled and sheathed the knife. Kong Wange breathed a sigh of relief when she saw him put away the knife, but then her gaze suddenly froze when she saw what he was looking at.
The man in front of her was shirtless. Just moments ago, there was a screen partially obscuring him, but now he was completely exposed to Kong Wange.
It must be admitted that this man has a good physique. His frame is actually narrower than Murong Ting's, giving him a very lean and muscular appearance, but his muscles are very firm and his back is very upright.
Kong Wange glanced at it quickly and then turned her head away uncomfortably.
Qin Feng, however, remained calm. He casually walked to the side, picked up his coat, put it on, and asked, "Since we parted ways in the alley last time, I haven't had a chance to ask. Has Miss Kong found the person she's looking for?"
Kong Wange said gratefully, "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Qin. It has been found. I've been wanting to find an opportunity to properly thank you, Mr. Qin."
Qin Feng paused slightly as he dressed, then turned around: "No need for thanks, but I'm a little curious, Miss Kong, why did you decide to go to Kyoto instead of staying in Jiangcheng?"
"Master Qin, you're well-informed, you must have heard about the Kong family's bankruptcy. I only learned that my mother was born into the Wen family in Kyoto after the Kong family went bankrupt. Since the Kong family didn't like me, I simply came to Kyoto to seek refuge with my uncle. What about you, Master Qin?"
Qin Feng buttoned up his clothes, walked to the side and poured himself a cup of tea: "I've always lived in Kyoto. I was just in Jiangcheng last time to take care of some business."
Kong Wange nodded: "I just heard Zhou Qiao say that her grandfather has a friend here who is recuperating. It turns out it's Master Qin. But from what I've observed, Master Qin doesn't seem to be sick."
After he said that, the air suddenly went still.
Qin Feng's eyes narrowed slightly, a dangerous glint in them: "Miss Kong, what else have you noticed?"
Kong Wange calmly said, "It's not an illness, it's more like a poison."
When she saw his face, she noticed that Qin Feng's lips were slightly purple and his face was unnaturally pale, all signs of poisoning.
The fact that the bandages binding his body still showed traces of blood, and that blood wasn't the normal bright red but rather had a blackish tinge, further confirmed her judgment.
Qin Feng glanced at Kong Wange, saw that she meant no harm, and chuckled, "Miss Kong's medical skills are superb; I was indeed poisoned."
Kong Wange glanced at Qin Feng and asked, "Would you like me to take your pulse?"
Qin Feng raised an eyebrow: "Is Miss Kong a teacher in this courtyard?"
"No, I go to school here."
"Oh, my body is already being treated by the owner of Baicaotang, so there's no need for you to trouble yourself, Kong," Qin Feng said calmly.
Kong Wange could tell that he was wary and didn't really trust her.
Since I've been met with indifference, I'm too lazy to say anything more.
She nodded and said, "Alright, Mr. Qin, take good care of yourself. I won't disturb you any longer."
After Kong Wange finished speaking, she turned and walked out the door.
"Take care..."
Behind him, Qin Feng stopped mid-sentence and fell silent.
Kong Wange found it strange and turned her head to look, only to see that he was spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Kong Wange was taken aback and subconsciously stepped forward to support him: "What's wrong with you...?"
Qin Feng looked pained, his brows furrowed, and for a moment he seemed to be in too much pain to speak, with almost all his strength resting on her.
Upon seeing the pool of dark blood on the ground, Kong Wange placed three fingers on his pulse without saying a word.
She closed her eyes slightly, and after a moment, her face filled with horror: "Your poison is a hundred..."
"Little Fengfeng, look what I brought back for you!"
Before Kong Wange could finish speaking, the door was suddenly pushed open, and an elderly man with white hair and a youthful face rushed in, carrying something as if presenting a treasure.
