Chapter 311 Qin Yiyi
After sending the message quietly, she was somewhat lost in thought.
The grievances that had been building up for days welled up in my heart.
Her story with Yan Su begins back in Jinzhen.
While they were in the countryside, Kong Wange and Murong Ting returned to Jiangcheng because of other matters, leaving only Yan Su and Yan Heli on the mountain.
Yan Heli goes out to collect herbs every day and occasionally goes down the mountain to make rounds for medical consultations. He is not at home most of the time, so she and Yan Su get along quite well.
Occasionally, she would act a little dramatic.
For example, you might "accidentally" sprain your ankle while climbing a mountain.
I "accidentally" burned my hand while eating.
I "accidentally" rolled off the bed while sleeping...
Despite his apparent impatience, Yan Su never actually abandoned her.
The time she sprained her ankle, he personally carried her down the mountain and applied medicine for her.
The time she burned her hand, he personally pulled her to rinse it under cold water, scolding her for being clumsy, but his actions were extremely patient.
And the time she rolled off the bed while sleeping, the next day she found that a guardrail had been added to the side of her bed.
Gradually, she even began to feel that Yan Su actually cared about her and liked her. Otherwise, why would he act so annoyingly but still be so attentive to her?
She thought that Yan Su was probably just too proud to face the truth of what happened back then, and that he was ashamed of it, so he was avoiding her as well.
So she specially chose a night suitable for moon viewing, and while Yan Su went to town to buy things, she secretly cooked a table full of delicious dishes, preparing to confront Yan Su under this beautiful scenery and with such good food, to clarify their feelings for each other, and to give him a straight answer on whether it was okay or not.
Anjing doesn't actually know how to cook; she learned everything from recipes. What Kong Wange could probably make in half an hour, it took her two hours to make something that barely looked presentable.
As the sun was about to set, she had prepared four dishes and a soup with great satisfaction when Yan Su returned.
However, he didn't come back alone; he brought a girl with him.
The girl wore a white dress, had thick, long, black hair, large, watery eyes, and thin lips beneath a high, delicate nose. Standing next to Yan Su, she looked pitiful.
She thought he looked familiar, but couldn't quite place where she had seen him before.
The girl took the initiative, stepped forward, took her hand, and said softly, "Sister Anjing, I didn't expect to run into you here. Do you remember me?"
An Jing subconsciously withdrew her hand and turned her gaze to Yan Su.
Yan Su explained, "This is Miss Qin, the daughter of the Qin family in Kyoto. She couldn't stay abroad any longer due to health reasons and just returned to the country today. She heard that my father is a highly skilled doctor, so she came to see him."
“I met her abroad, and she helped me before, so I should return the favor,” Yan Su added.
Qin Yiyi, the daughter of the Qin family, was sent abroad to study and live five years ago. An Jing had some impression of her. When they were in Kyoto, the two were not close and only met a few times.
However, wouldn't it be more convenient to seek treatment in Kyoto if one is unwell? Besides, Kyoto has the Imperial Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, so why come to this small mountain village to find Yan Heli?
Although An Jing was puzzled, she was, after all, someone Yan Su had brought back, so she politely replied, "So you are Miss Qin. You must be tired from your journey. Let me take you to wash up first."
Qin Yiyi pursed her lips and whispered, "Then I'll trouble you, Sister Anjing."
Beside the sink, Qin Yiyi, lathering her hands with soap, chatted idly: "Anjing, are you here for a trip to the countryside? How did you and Brother Su meet? Has Brother Su mentioned me to you? We had a great time abroad."
Quietly listening to her calling him "Brother Su" repeatedly, she glanced at her and said calmly, "I'm not here for tourism. I came here specifically to see Yan Su. Miss Qin, we just met and we're not very familiar with each other. I don't need to tell you about my affairs, and I don't want to know about yours. Wash your hands and let's eat quickly."
Qin Yiyi rinsed off the foam, shook the water off her hands, and smiled slightly: "I'm sorry, Sister Anjing, I was being presumptuous."
After washing her hands, she quietly went to the kitchen to prepare to serve the dishes.
Yan Su wanted to help, but Qin Yiyi tugged at his sleeve and whispered, "Brother Su, I think I said something wrong and upset Sister Anjing. Did I bother you and Sister Anjing? Maybe I should go back to Kyoto."
Yan Su looked puzzled and said, "An Jing isn't that kind of person. Don't overthink it. You're not feeling well, so just stay here and relax. When my father comes back from his rounds, I'll have him take a look at you."
After saying that, he glanced towards the kitchen and instructed, "Also, just call me Yan Su from now on, don't call me Brother Su, it sounds weird."
Qin Yiyi lowered her head and hunched her shoulders: "Okay, Brother Su."
Yan Su: "..."
While the two were chatting in the yard, Anjing had already put all the dishes on the table.
Now that Qin Yiyi is here, she naturally can't talk to Yan Su about the two of them anymore. Looking at the fruits of her hard work all afternoon, which have turned into a meal for the three of them, she still feels a little awkward.
After Qin Yiyi sat down, she looked at the table full of delicious food and exclaimed in surprise, "Wow, did Sister Anjing make all of this? You're so amazing!"
Yan Su also asked in surprise, "What day is it today? Why is it so lavish? I'll take care of the cooking from now on, you don't need to interfere."
Anjing was feeling a bit down, but hearing this made her a little happier. She said, "I was bored, so I just made something quick. Let's eat."
Anjing's first time cooking was indeed not very tasty. During the meal, Qin Yiyi, whether intentionally or unintentionally, asked directly, "Brother Su, don't you think this tomato and egg stir-fry is too salty?"
Yan Su paused slightly with his chopsticks: "I don't think so."
After saying that, he poured the scrambled eggs with tomatoes into his own bowl: "If you think it's too salty, then don't eat it."
Qin Yiyi, having gotten a snub, smiled innocently and said, "What I meant was that if there's a chance, Brother Su can try my cooking. Oh, Sister Anjing, I didn't mean your cooking is bad. I'm just being blunt. You won't be angry, will you?"
At this point, An Jing realized that Qin Yiyi was not a weak patient at all; she was a poisonous little white lotus.
She looked up and smiled, replying, "What's there to be angry about? This is my first time cooking, and there's definitely a lot of room for improvement. Oh, by the way, I forgot to ask earlier, Miss Qin, do you have some kind of terminal illness? Can't it be cured in Kyoto? Why did you have to come all the way to this rural mountain village for treatment?"
She mimicked Qin Yiyi's tone and said, "Oh dear, I'm a pretty straightforward person, I hope Miss Qin won't be angry?"
Qin Yiyi's eyes reddened, she put down her chopsticks, and suddenly two lines of tears fell.
Quietly, arms crossed, she watched the spectacle unfold: "Why is he crying? Could it really be a terminal illness?"
Qin Yiyi sobbed even louder.
Yan Su rubbed his temples and said, "Quiet, Miss Qin is still sick, and she didn't mean to say those things. Just be lenient with her."
