Chapter 335 Checking Up

Chapter 335 Checking Up

Anjing pushed open the door to the master bedroom: "My fourth sister is here, you'd better hide!"

Leng Yanluo was slightly taken aback: "Didn't you just say that your fourth sister was attending a meeting in H country?"

"Who knows why she came back early!" Anjing was extremely anxious: "She just called me and said she's already at the entrance of the community and asked me to get ready to pick her up."

"Does your fourth sister often do this...surprise attacks?"

"No, my place is so far away, she only comes here twice a year. Maybe you're just unlucky."

Anjing was in a real bind right now, and the words "Murphy's Law" kept popping into her mind. Sure enough, the things you least want to happen always happen so unexpectedly!

She walked around the master bedroom, scratched her head, and said, "No, no, this room can't hide anyone. She can see us as soon as she comes in."

Quietly, she muttered to herself as she pulled Leng Yanluo back into the second bedroom.

Leng Yanluo was rendered speechless by her tug: "Even if your fourth sister is coming, there's no need for me to hide, right? Aren't we boyfriend and girlfriend now? I'd like to take this opportunity to meet your fourth sister."

"You don't understand. Dating is fine, but living together is not! If my fourth sister sees us living together, she'll definitely tell my eldest sister. If my eldest sister finds out, I'm done for, understand?"

"Is it that serious? An'an, why don't we elope?" Leng Yanluo stared at her seriously, speaking as if it were a serious matter.

"Teacher Luo, listen to me, thank you. This is a real emergency, please stop joking."

"I wasn't joking. I agreed to play your boyfriend for money. Since you don't agree to elope, I might as well let your fourth sister misunderstand that we're living together. Maybe she'll give me a card and let me leave you?" Leng Yanluo said with a teasing tone and a light laugh.

"You wish! We'd rather you had the card and just kill you!"

Leng Yanluo: "..."

He was quietly pushed into the guest room.

He pointed to the cabinet and said, "How about we hide it in here?"

After he cleared out the clothes from the closet, there was quite a lot of space inside.

"No, this place is too easy to be discovered."

"Then...under the bed?"

"There's no space under the bed." Her beds are all floor-to-ceiling, fitting perfectly.

"How about the restroom?"

"The bathroom? Unless you can hide in the toilet."

"Then..." Even Leng Yanluo couldn't come up with "then".

The house is only so big, and nothing works; there's really nowhere left to hide.

"Then I'll leave?"

“My fourth sister must be downstairs at the door by now, you can’t leave.”

Leng Yanluo glanced at the balcony window and suddenly had an idea: "Alright, I know where I'm hiding. You don't need to worry about me anymore. Go and deal with your fourth sister."

"Really?" Anjing asked uncertainly.

"Expose yourself and bring me your head!" Leng Yanluo's eyes burned fiercely.

...

When Anzhen arrived, Anjing had just hurriedly come downstairs.

She cleared the table, calmed her breathing, tidied her wildly flying hair, put on a fake smile, and opened the door.

Outside the door, Anzhen was waiting with several paper bags in her hands.

She wore a beige casual suit with a matching pencil skirt, her slightly wavy hair was styled in a high bun, and her pearl earrings were simple yet eye-catching. A faint fragrance wafted from her body, and her makeup was light and soft, making her appear elegant, gentle, and intellectual.

"Fourth sister, why did you suddenly come here?" Anjing deliberately added a slight complaint in an attempt to divert her fourth sister's attention.

Sure enough, hearing her tone, Anzhen reached out and tapped her on the head: "You brat, what are you saying? I just got back from abroad, I didn't even go home before coming to see you, and you still look unhappy? What are you busy with? You're only just arriving?"

Quietly and ingratiatingly, she took the bag from her: "I just woke up from my afternoon nap. Come in quickly, Fourth Sister. I'm so happy you came to see me."

As Anzhen walked inside, she casually looked around and said, "When did you develop the habit of taking afternoon naps?"

"Just recently, I've reached an age where I should start taking care of my health," An Jing said, making up a lie with a straight face.

Anzhen remained noncommittal, then walked around the room and said, "It's rare that you've changed your ways. You even know to tidy up this little doghouse. That's quite an achievement."

Quiet:"……"

She pouted and complained, "How is this a doghouse? Fourth Sister, you can't be so mean to me."

"Oh, getting angry?" Anzhen walked into the dining room while chatting, and suddenly stopped when she saw the bowls and chopsticks in the sink.

Quietly calling out is not good.

Although she had just put the dishes in the sink, she hadn't had time to wash them in her haste. Now, upon closer inspection, it was clear that the tableware was not intended for one person...

Without saying a word, she grabbed Anzhen and led her into the living room: "Oh, Fourth Sister, stop wandering around. You've been here before. Tell me, what brings you here this time? I don't believe you came here specifically to see me."

Anzhen was forced to sit down by her, and glanced at her.

An Jing felt as if she had been seen through, and her heart tightened.

Fortunately, Anzhen didn't say anything, but continued on her words: "What else could it be? I heard from my eldest sister that you have a boyfriend and are going to bring him to visit in a few days. With something this big, how could I not come back? I immediately canceled my overseas meeting. How about that? Isn't Fourth Sister generous enough?"

Anjing gave an awkward laugh: "Uh, that's great, very great."

"Here, I brought you some dumplings on my way. I was thinking you probably wouldn't eat properly by yourself, but it seems I was worrying for nothing. You clearly just finished eating. I'll put the dumplings in the fridge for you to eat tonight." Anzhen said, picking up one of the bags and heading towards the kitchen.

The dishes hadn't even been washed yet, so how could Anjing dare let her into the kitchen?

She quickly got up and stopped Anzhen, snatching the bag from her hand: "Fourth Sister, you've just come back from so far away, how can I let you move? You rest, I'll put it away."

Anzhen watched Jingjing's slightly flustered back and followed behind her thoughtfully: "Jingjing, do you live alone now?"

After quietly finishing placing the dumplings, Anzhen turned around and saw a look of leisurely scrutiny in her eyes, and her heart immediately skipped a beat.

However, she maintained a calm demeanor: "What else?"

"Where's your boyfriend? It's the weekend, didn't he ask you out?"

"Hey, we just finished a video call before you came. He's too clingy. It's good to give him some space sometimes. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, right?"

After finishing her sentence, Anjing tried to change the subject: "Fourth sister, didn't your husband pick you up from the airport? You're already here, and he didn't even say he wanted to come and see me."

Anzhen looked at her for a moment, then turned her head and said, "He has a meeting this afternoon. Anyway, you're going to bring your boyfriend back to the old house in a few days, so everyone will be able to meet him then."

Anjing breathed a sigh of relief when she saw her turn and leave the kitchen doorway.

However, just as she put the dumplings in the refrigerator, she turned around and almost spat out a mouthful of blood. She saw Anzhen carrying the remaining two bags, walking upstairs at a leisurely pace.
