Chapter 37 The Complaining Mommy, the Little Brother is Hiding a Secret

Chapter 37 The Complaining Mommy, the Little Brother is Hiding a Secret

Kong Wange looked completely bewildered, not understanding why he was so angry when he was clearly being unreasonable. Seeing the prescription, she casually asked, "Does someone in the family have a cold?"

Murong Ting ignored her.

After all, he had just saved her, so Kong Wange patiently asked again, "If someone in your family is sick, try to take them to a clinic. The doctor's diagnostic skills are also very important."

Murong Ting felt that she must have guessed it was Murong Chen.

There are only two people in his family. She might be saying this just to see the child. He scoffed, "Dream on."

He then took the medicine from Zhang Fuxi and turned to leave.

Kong Wange: "???"

Zhang Fuxi stared at Murong Ting's departing figure, recalling how he had just shielded Kong Wange from the knife, and couldn't help but advise her: "Miss, I don't think Murong Ting is as heartless as the rumors say. He still cares about you. Sometimes, the feelings between husband and wife are cultivated over time, so you can't take it too seriously."

Kong Wange patted Zhang Fuxi's shoulder with a sympathetic look: "Uncle Zhang, look at you, you've been won over by him in just a short while. Sigh, in front of Emperor Murong, we are all just ordinary people!"

"Don't overthink it. He'll soon be my ex-husband, and we won't have anything to do with each other anymore."

"Ex-husband? Miss, are you really going to divorce Murong Ting? Wouldn't that be exactly what the Kong family wanted? During the years you were gone, they couldn't wait for you to get a divorce!"

Kong Wange rolled her eyes: "I'll be generous and let them weigh it for free."

She then comforted him, saying, "Also, with the shop smashed up like this, it won't be able to operate for a while. You can take this opportunity to find someone to renovate the clinic. Don't worry about the money, I'll cover it!"

"Alright, I won't get involved in your young people's affairs."

Zhang Fuxi sighed. After all, he was already very happy that the traditional Chinese medicine clinic could be returned to the young lady's daughter's hands.

"If you don't have anything else to ask, Miss, please feel free to wander around. I'll go and tidy up the lobby a bit."

"Okay, you can go ahead."

After Zhang Fuxi left, Kong Wange wandered around aimlessly.

After she lifted the curtain behind the counter, a bright and spacious view opened up before her.

It turns out that the back hall was a large courtyard, which was used specifically for drying and sorting medicines. Instead of flowers and plants, the surrounding greenery consisted of various kinds of herbs.

Aloe vera, honeysuckle, liriope muscari, lobelia chinensis...

As Kong Wange walked, she counted, a smile unconsciously spreading across her face, and the gloom that had been weighing on her heart dissipated without her noticing.

She has loved tending to herbs since she was a child; they make her feel close and at ease.

When she was a child, she was always punished by her master by being locked up in the medicine hall when she was naughty. Her master thought it was a punishment, but little did he know that she found it fun.

Each time, she would talk and chat with the herbs in the pharmacy, water them and remove the pests, and the night would pass by in a flash.

As she walked, she suddenly noticed that the leaves of a bellflower were turning yellow.

It turned out that there was a tall tiger thorn tree next to it, which completely blocked the sunlight in the vicinity.

Judging that the bellflower was about to die from not seeing the light again, Kong Wange thought for a moment and decided to move it to a new home.

She bent down and parted the leaves of the tiger thorn covering the bellflower. Unexpectedly, when she looked up, she saw what looked like a small iron door behind the dense, oval leaves of the tiger thorn.

She paused for a moment, then subconsciously reached out and pushed the leaves aside further.

A single iron gate, barely wide enough for one person to pass through, came into her view.

The iron gate was painted with the same paint as the surrounding walls and was covered by dense foliage, making it difficult to spot without close inspection.

She frowned, tried to push the door, but it wouldn't budge.

She groped around and found a keyhole on the lower right side; it was an irregular hexagon.

The keyhole's shape was too peculiar; it must have been done on purpose, Kong Wange thought to herself.

Could there be some secret hidden here?

But then I thought about it again and found it funny; I really watch too many TV dramas.

If a mother leaves something for her child, she will definitely find a way to tell her about it. Just like that silver needle, which her mother passed on to her through her master.

If there were any other issues, Master should have told me about them long ago.

Just as I was lost in thought, Uncle Zhang finished tidying up and came over.

He also noticed the small iron gate behind her and was immediately taken aback: "Hey, why is there another door here?"

"Uncle Zhang, you've lived here for over ten years, and you didn't even know there was a door here?"

Uncle Zhang shook his head, walked to the door and looked it over: "I saw this tiger thorn tree when I came here. It's been here for at least thirty years. It's covered in thorns, and nobody usually touches it. Who would have thought there would be a small iron door behind it! Judging from the color of the iron door, it's obviously intentionally designed to hide it from people!"

Kong Wange's eyes flickered, and she asked him, "Uncle Zhang, did my mother leave you anything when she passed away, like a peculiar key or something?"

“Probably not,” Uncle Zhang sighed. “Miss left in a hurry back then. If she really left anything valuable behind, it would probably have been left with the Kong family.”

Kong Wange's expression darkened.

He thought to himself that if he had the chance, he should go and explore the Kong family again.

Check if Mom left the keys at the Kong family's house.

For some reason, she had a strong intuition that what was behind that iron gate was definitely not simple!

Just then, her phone rang. As soon as she answered, Kong Ran's voice came through impatiently, "Mommy, you've been out all morning, when are you coming back? Your dear daughter is starving!"

Kong Wange glanced at Zhang Fuxi, walked to the side, and said in a low voice, "Okay, Mommy... I'll be right back."

After hanging up the phone, Zhang Fuxi stepped forward and said considerately, "Miss, if you have something to do, you can go ahead and take care of it. I can leave this to the old man."

Kong Wange didn't stand on ceremony and readily agreed, "Then I'll trouble Uncle Zhang."

She glanced at the iron gate again, then stepped out.

When she got home, Kong Ran, who was complaining of being hungry, was hiding in his room playing video games.

Hearing the door open, she immediately unplugged the power cord and ran out of the room, throwing herself into Kong Wange's arms and hugging her legs affectionately, "Mommy, you're finally back! Ranbao missed you so much!"

Kong Wange saw right through her little scheme and flicked her head: "Didn't you say you were hungry? You still have the energy to play games?"

Kong Ran snorted and stubbornly denied it, saying, "No way, no way! What's so fun about games? Mommy is the most, most, most important person in Ranbao's heart!"

Kong Wange, who was always helpless against children's sweet talk, shook her head and asked, "Where's your little brother?"

Speaking of Kong Chi, Kong Ran snorted coldly: "Who knows him? These past few days he's been acting all mysterious, always clutching his phone watch. When I ask him who he's chatting with, he won't tell me, and he often runs off to avoid me. I bet he's hiding some little secret from both of us!"
