Chapter 394 A Rare Moment of Leisure
Seeing his hesitant expression, Kong Wange chuckled and said, "Just kidding. But I can't think of a name right now. Why don't you think of one, honey?"
When the last two words were uttered, the man opposite him was clearly taken aback.
The next second, his eyes burned with intensity: "Wanwan, what did you call me?"
Kong Wange petted the dog, saying, "I'll only call once. If you don't hear me, that's fine."
Murong Ting became excited and picked her up in his arms.
Suddenly lifted into the air, Kong Wange couldn't help but gasp in surprise, instinctively wrapping her arms around Murong Ting's neck: "Are you crazy? Put me down!"
"I don't."
Murong Ting carried her and strode towards the bedroom.
If there was anything different about this little bamboo house compared to the previous Peony Residence, it was that Kong Wange discovered upon entering the bedroom that the bed was almost twice the size of her previous bed on the mountain.
It wasn't until she was thrown onto the bed and the man pressed down on her, his large figure looming over her, that Kong Wange belatedly realized what he wanted to do.
She really didn't expect that a simple "husband" would have such a powerful impact.
She could clearly feel the fervor in the man's eyes and the excitement in his movements without him saying a word.
She quickly pushed him, saying, "Murong Ting, you...you get up first."
Murong Ting simply called her affectionately, "Wanwan."
Kong Wange gritted her teeth: "Just bear with it, it's broad daylight!"
She simply didn't believe he would dare do anything to her.
Murong Ting seemed to sense her confidence and gently touched her smooth cheek: "Wanwan, it's just the two of us here, so there's no difference between day and night."
After he finished speaking, Kong Wange knew something was wrong and instinctively tried to run away, but the man pressed down on her forearm, leaving her nowhere to escape.
The next second, the man's face pressed against it.
Their noses touched, and Murong Ting's voice was hoarse beyond belief: "Wanwan, call me again."
Kong Wange racked her brains for a way to escape, then suddenly wrinkled her nose and two tears fell: "Murong Ting, you're hurting me."
Murong Ting was startled and immediately loosened his grip.
Kong Wange made a quick decision and pushed him away: "I'm hungry, I need to eat. Let's talk about it tonight."
As she spoke, she jumped out of bed as if fleeing and ran towards the kitchen.
Murong Ting didn't make things difficult for her anymore. On the contrary, he seemed somewhat excited. What did Wanwan mean by that? Did it mean they could... tonight?
He was extremely excited and followed Kong Wange into the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Kong Wange composed herself and began cooking.
Murong Ting leaned over and pulled Kong Wange, who was busy at the stove, into his arms, taking a deep breath at the nape of her neck: "Are you really hungry?"
Kong Wange felt a little itchy from his teasing, and the heat that had just subsided surged back up. She quickly reached out and pushed him away, saying, "Go away, don't delay my cooking."
Unexpectedly, Murong Ting took the spatula from her hand and said, "I'll do it. You go inside and rest."
Kong Wange raised an eyebrow: "You'll do it?"
Murong Ting glanced at her: "Looking down on me?"
Kong Wange hadn't forgotten his previous experience of blowing up the kitchen.
Murong Ting sighed, put his arm around her shoulder and helped her into the house: "Trust me, we're finally getting some alone time today, so my dear wife, just relax and enjoy it, okay?"
Kong Wange's cheeks flushed slightly at his call, but she suppressed the heat in her heart. She instructed, "Then please keep an eye on the heat when you cook the noodles, and I want the eggs to be soft-boiled."
"Okay, okay, you rest now, I'll call you when it's time to eat."
Kong Wange was pushed back onto the bed by Murong Ting. Seeing him go into the kitchen and bustle about with great enthusiasm, she gradually felt relieved.
The mattress on the bed was her usual brand, soft and comfortable. The afternoon sun slanted in, casting a soft glow. The window beside the bed was half-open, letting in a gentle breeze.
Listening to Murong Ting's busy voices outside, she wasn't sleepy at first, but somehow she inexplicably closed her eyes.
With a slight smile, she briefly drifted into a beautiful dream.
When she regained consciousness, she heard a man's voice in her ear.
"Wanwan, get up and eat."
The voice was soft and gentle, with a hint of doting affection.
Kong Wange turned over and slowly opened her eyes. She saw him squatting by the bed, gently brushing away the annoying stray hairs that were hanging down and covering her cheeks.
"Is dinner ready?" Kong Wange asked, her voice slightly hoarse.
"Yes, it's your favorite soft-boiled egg."
Kong Wange smiled, sat up, and was about to put on her shoes and get out of bed when the man picked her up in one go.
She paused for a moment, then said helplessly, "I can walk by myself."
“I know,” Murong Ting said matter-of-factly, “I just want to hug you.”
"Tch." Kong Wange didn't say anything more, but just curled her lips into a smile in his arms.
Murong Ting placed Kong Wange on a small stool next to the dining table, then turned around to get her a pair of comfortable rattan slippers.
The small table was also made of bamboo, and besides the noodles that Kong Wange originally planned to cook, it was also piled high with several side dishes.
Kong Wange exclaimed in surprise, "You've done so much in such a short time?"
Murong Ting smiled and said, "It's been quite a while. Look at what time it is now."
Kong Wange took out her phone—it was 3:30.
"I slept for so long?" She thought she had only taken a short nap, but she never expected to sleep for almost two hours.
"I guess you were tired this morning, so I didn't have the heart to wake you. Since you were asleep, I just made a few more dishes."
Looking at the table full of dishes, Kong Wange had an idea and said, "The environment here is so nice, why don't we invite the children over too?"
Murong Ting, who had been secretly delighted to finally have some time alone with someone, was speechless.
He immediately said, "No need, the children were taken to school by Ningning today, they probably haven't come back yet."
Kong Wange knew that Murong Ting's eldest sister's child, Tang Ning, was a university teacher.
Hearing him say that, she could only say with a hint of regret, "Alright then, we'll bring them here again when we have the chance."
"Okay, let's eat first and not think about anything else." Murong Ting breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly served food to Kong Wange.
He carefully peeled the shrimp and placed them in Kong Wange's bowl, then added a piece of stir-fried pork to her plate: "Try this too. I know you like it, so I made this last. It shouldn't be cold yet."
Kong Wange smiled slightly: "Okay, I'll try it. If it's delicious, I'll give you a reward."
Murong Ting's eyes lit up: "Is it a reward that can only be redeemed at night?"
Kong Wange knew exactly what he was thinking, and smiled slyly: "Yes."
Murong Ting immediately became excited and frantically served Kong Wange food, making her try this and that, completely unaware of the fleeting mischievousness in her eyes.
After a satisfying meal, as dusk was falling, Murong Ting cleaned up the dishes and took Kong Wange out for a walk to digest.
In the countryside, Kong Wange had grown up in such an environment and was quite used to it. On the contrary, Murong Ting found everything new and interesting, and even picked a lot of wild fruits.
