Chapter 474 Making a Painful Decision

Chapter 474 Making a Painful Decision

Kong Wange reviewed the information she had obtained from Wen Zhihan in her mind again, and asked calmly, "Your father has been bedridden for so many years, has Wen Zirou ever come to visit him?"

Xiaoxue shook her head: "No, I'm already very grateful that my second aunt was willing to pay for my dad's surgery. How could I dare to ask her to come and visit?"

"Oh." Kong Wange took a sip of tea and fell into deep thought.

After the Intestinal Cleansing Pills sold out last night, the number of customers at the clinic has increased significantly.

Around nine o'clock, people came in droves to see a doctor and buy medicine.

Kong Wange and Xiaoxue got busy after only a few words. Fortunately, the employees arrived at their posts one after another, and they finally had a chance to have lunch.

Kong Wange and Xiaoxue had lunch at a small restaurant outside the clinic. The two walked back to the clinic and were about to enter when a sharp shout suddenly came from not far away: "Tao Xiaoxue!"

Xiaoxue was stunned for a moment, then subconsciously turned around and immediately met Tao Xiangjun's angry gaze as he walked towards them.

She was startled: "Oh no, Sister Wan Ge, my dad is here!"

Kong Wange pulled Xiaoxue behind her.

Tao Xiangjun walked up and said through gritted teeth, "Tao Xiaoxue, you come here right now!"

Xiaoxue pursed her lips and walked out, whispering, "Dad, why did you come here?"

"How did I get here? Tell me how I got here!" Tao Xiangjun threw a medical book at Xiaoxue. "If I hadn't found this under your pillow, you would still be in the dark. You really want to learn traditional Chinese medicine?!"

Xiaoxue was both angry and annoyed: "What are you saying? I don't understand. Why won't you let me learn? Am I destined to be a waitress who is looked down upon by everyone for the rest of my life?!"

Tao Xiangjun gritted his teeth and said, "You can learn traditional Chinese medicine anywhere, why do you insist on learning from her!"

"Because no one but Sister Wan Ge is willing to teach me. You don't understand anything at all. You don't know anything, all you do is criticize me!"

Xiaoxue was clearly driven to desperation; tears streamed down her face uncontrollably, and she turned and ran away.

Tao Xiangjun never expected that his usually well-behaved and obedient daughter would say such a thing.

How could he not want his daughter to be well? His child was smart and sensible from a young age, and if possible, he didn't want her to live her whole life dependent on others.

But... one wrong step leads to another.

Now that things have come to this, there's no going back.

Kong Wange watched Xiaoxue run away and asked Tao Xiangjun with a complicated expression, "Uncle Tao, I have no grudge against you, so why are you so against Xiaoxue studying medicine with me?"

Tao Xiangjun remained silent.

"Or is there some grudge I don't know about?" Kong Wange looked at him with piercing eyes: "I heard from Xiaoxue that you had nephritis more than 20 years ago, and Wen Zirou paid for your kidney transplant. You and she had a very good relationship?"

Tao Xiangjun warned, "Don't make wild guesses. None of this has anything to do with you."

“Alright, let’s not talk about that.” Kong Wange readily agreed, “Let’s change the subject. Xiaoxue was only fourteen or fifteen years old when she first entered the clinic. At such a young age, according to the Wen family’s recruitment standards, it would have been absolutely impossible for her to get into the clinic. How did she manage to work there for almost ten years?”

Tao Xiangjun felt a little flustered: "She's very capable, and you also think she's amazing, so I don't understand why you're asking these questions?"

Kong Wange pressed closer: "It's true that Xiaoxue is very capable, but as far as I know, her job was also arranged by Wen Zirou."

When Wen Zirou was mentioned again, Tao Xiangjun's expression gradually changed.

Kong Wange saw his change and said clearly, "Uncle Tao was the housekeeper in Wen Zirou's courtyard, right? You worked for the Wen family for more than ten years. Although you are considered an old man in the Wen family, I have never heard of Wen Zirou being so generous to anyone. Before she left, she gave her alimony and helped her daughter find a job."

Her gaze was cool and clear, as if she could see into the depths of people's hearts: "Or is it that, in your position as a housekeeper, you do more than just the work of a housekeeper? Do you know my mother, Wen Zhiyi?"

"Stop talking!" Tao Xiangjun suddenly interrupted her: "I don't know anything. My second aunt is a kind and compassionate person. She treated my illness and arranged a job for Xiaoxue. Our whole family is very grateful. You are a scheming woman. Xiaoxue can no longer follow you. She will not be coming to work starting tomorrow!"

After finishing his sentence, Tao Xiangjun angrily flicked his sleeves and turned to leave.

Although Tao Xiangjun didn't say anything, his reaction was enough to prove some of Kong Wange's suspicions.

She watched his retreating figure with deep, unwavering eyes, before turning back to the clinic after a long while.

Inside the clinic, an employee named Honghong had a clear view of what was happening outside. Taking advantage of everyone's inattention, she secretly made a phone call.

Wen Luoyun and Wen Zirou were getting massages at a beauty salon.

Suddenly, the phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID; it was Honghong.

She was able to gain the upper hand in every situation when Kong Wange was looking for anchors to collaborate with, all thanks to Honghong's intelligence.

She answered immediately: "Hello? What's up?"

"Miss Wen, there's a situation at the clinic."

"Oh? What's going on?"

Xiao Hong told Wen Luoyun everything she had just seen, but because she was far away, she didn't hear the specific conversation between Kong Wange and Tao Xiangjun very clearly, but instinctively she still felt that something was strange.

After listening, Wen Luoyun said with slight displeasure, "Don't report these kinds of trivial matters to me anymore." She then hung up the phone.

Wen Zirou, who was standing next to her, turned to the side and asked, "Who is it? What's the matter?"

Wen Luoyun casually said, "I arranged for a little informant at Kong Wange's clinic to say that there's a junior employee there, I think her name is Xiaoxue, but her father doesn't want her to work at the clinic, so he's made a scene at the clinic."

She clicked her tongue and said, "Kong Wange is really idle. She has to personally step in to help solve this kind of thing. She said she chatted with the employee's father at the door for a while."

She chatted casually, not taking it seriously, while Wen Zirou suddenly sat up in bed: "What did you just say that employee's name was?"

Wen Luoyun looked at her strangely: "Xiaoxue, Tao Xiaoxue, what's wrong? Do you know this employee?"

Wen Zirou realized her lapse in composure, then calmed herself down and lay down on her own: "Oh, I don't know it, but the name sounds familiar."

“The name Xiaoxue is quite common,” Wen Luoyun said without thinking much of it, turning around. “Don’t always be so alarmed.”

Wen Zirou absentmindedly hummed in agreement, but a dark glint flashed in her eyes.

After returning home, Wen Luoyun went to her room to rest first, while Wen Zirou paced around her room for a while before picking up her phone and making a call.

A moment later, there was a knock on the door.

Wen Zirou pushed open the door, looked around, and then whispered to the person at the door, "Come in and talk."

Qianliu stepped inside, speaking respectfully, "What are your instructions, Second Aunt?"
